  1. Ooooo, man, just ONCE in my life I'd like to be in the 500hp+ club. 700! That would be great, just once to get my fix and be done with it. Oh and I would still complain about the gas mileage.
  2. I'm a LONG way from it. But I see the old timers retiring every month. Usually an uptick in December and June. Before the holidays and right before summer. Talking to them it's bitter sweet and have gotten some unexpected compliments from working with them. I've always enjoyed working around the veterans and gleaned some valuable insight into keeping my head on my shoulders. I wish you a smooth road ahead. Best of luck George.
  3. Local supermarket is closing next week. Everything today is 50% off on top of the sales. $712 worth of groceries down to $356. Pantry is PACKED. We have enough spaghetti sauce to last till 2019....or longer. Managed to score a couple artisan coffees from a local roaster in town. Normally this coffee is $14 a pound which is a little too rich for my blood. But today? Woohoo! $7. Liquor was on sale too! We're good till 2020 as my wife is a lite drinker. Lol. But I managed to snag a couple tawny & Ruby ports for those moments when I feel like a sip. That will last ME forever as I'm a super lite sipper. Heck of a day. But I keep thinking...I could have bought some speakers.
  4. Good morning. Trying a favorite need to wake up.
  5. My Bell's. If I had stupid money to spend I'd beg, bribe, cajole a Klipsch engineer to sneak into their anechoic chamber in the dead of night with a black moving van. Then tweak it with the latest "upgrades". Horns, caps, crossovers etc after extensive testing. I don't think there is a better looking speaker. I've looked. Only they could do it really.
  6. Making crepes as the kids requested so wife & I had fun doing it. Made about 50 of them and towards the end did a double take on one of them. Pure chance out of that whole batch.
  7. While I moan about a bad back..... amazing lady!
  8. At the very least she is being indoctrinated into Klipsch sounds.
  9. It is indeed. I bought that in 92 while stationed in S.Korea as one of those "mink" blankets. It's now over the lazy boy recliner for the winter months. That chair with that blanket knocks out everyone who stays in it. Super comfy. Best $20 I spent on a blanket.
  10. Got a new puppy a Boston Terrier that was the smallest of the litter. Wife brought her home tonight. Her name is Daisy.
  11. Oh, heeere we go..... Uphill both ways I'm sure.
  12. Just goes to show you no amount of money can get the funk out.
  13. First day back at work for the New year. Found a $1 bill on the ground @ 6am in the parking lot. Not a bad way to start the year.
  14. Happy New Year!...and good night. Wish all here a healthy & safe 2018.
  15. Just celebrated my wife birthday. Absolutely great time. Went to Osaka sushi with the entire family and left stuffed. So much for dieting. Haha.
  16. I'd be interested in a bottle when their made. I'm on a hot sauce kick as of late.
  17. Just bought my first quality in-earphones. Never heard of the company but being basedin San Diego thought I'd give my neighbor down south a try. What I've learned in researching earphones is the difference in quality as you move up from $10>$100 pair. Namely it's the amount of drivers that are involved creating the earphones. Cheap ones use one driver for highs, mids and bass and cheap magnets. Quality ones use a driver for each audio spectrum and in theory sounds better with the accompanying crossover network to drive them. This company claims they used an audio engineer to balance these which I'm grateful for. Also these are THX certified. Now I know what you're thinking. If the source is an mp3 or cell phone then it shouldn't matter. To me coming from $14 headphones I *think* it will make a difference and past this price point it's a law of diminishing returns due to source and surroundings. I mean if you're in a subway, crowded public transportation type environment makes little sense to get $1000 earphones. For my morning walk I think these will do. I also added foam ear pads as I've read they seal better giving better sound and comfort.
  18. Wishing all of you a a day filled with food, cheer and laughter. Be safe & stay healthy. It's been great to be part of this community. Merry Christmas
  19. That is sweet. Can you give the abbreviated version of the steps in roasting? After roasting are you supposed to let it "sit" for couple days? Not too technical. City vs full city roast single crack vs double. What do you prefer? A gent name Turtle on another forum was big into it.
  20. Just in!!! Had a wonderful chicken cordon blue dinner. Absolutely yummy. Backed up by these hot sauces that usps dropped off right before dinner. Might thoughtful of them. Sometimes this surveillance thing is OK. All these are on the mild side as I still wanted to taste my food. My wife who normally stays away from hot sauces tried a few as I made a sampler plate about a quarter size each. Her favorite was the Marie Sharps smokey habenro with the Aztec Indian and Roux.Roux had a Sirscha/Frank's red hot type flavor. I liked all of them with my favorite was Marie Sharps Habenero on the left with the pepper picture. Unfortunately, Tears of the sun was fourth place. Even my nine year old daughter got into the act liking what mom did. Hurmph!...
  21. That sounds perfect., I'll give it a go. Another tip I read for the prime rib and other beef is to leave it out on the counter for two or three hours at room temperature prior to cooking it. Once I learned this, cooking became a whole lot easier. Lol, one time many years ago I remember doing this and in came my boxer while I was relaxing in my bedroom. Just waking up. He sat looking at me, looking at the door then turned and looked at me again. I thought that's interesting then...where is your "brother" a Rottweiler/German mix? So getting up I made my way to the kitchen and there hilariously was this 120#(yeah, he was big) dog somehow like a clown crammed into the corner of the TOP of the kitchen counter happily chewing away at a T-bone steak. Blissfully unaware of me. Alternating between laughing and being a little pissed I composed myself said "Chance, what are you doing?" Man, his ears went back and his eyes were the most expressive they have ever been. Like "Oh,crap I'm so screwed" look. I almost laughed. He literally slid off the counter top and tip toes back to his bed like some villain in a cartoon. Loved that dog, miss him to this day. So VERY smart. He figured out how to open a door KNOB to get into rooms. Would talk back to you by making a fire engine sound. You tell him to sit he'd sit. Only to sit and scoot across the floor because you didn't tell him to stay. Once you combined the two commands he'd argue with you fire engine like. He knew he wasn't supposed to be on that counter and ratted out by little brother. Sorry for the long post. Back to beef & pork....
  22. Indeed they are. Tomorrow will be a week that I've had him in between my wife and I using them they're still 3/4 charged. Also impressive was the range these have. Setting my phone down in the kitchen I walked down the hallway around the corner turn left around another corner to my laundry room just short one door from the garage and the music didn't cut out once. That's approximately 25' two corners and walls in between.
