  1. Gordon Lightfoots music touched my soul
  2. It is gorgeous with the new Teak Plinth and new dustcover and the Sure V15 cartridge. I love it but 3 turntables are more than I need. I have so much audio and camera gear that just don't get enough use.
  3. My Forte 1s and Forte IVs both sound best between 10" and 12" from rear wall and with my REL S812 Subwoofer they sound like much larger speakers.I have never heard Cornwalls but I had Heresies and the Forte IVS sound much better to my ears in my space.
  4. Beautiful condition automatic Dual 1229 Turntable with a gorgeous Teak plinth and Sure V15 Type 3 cartridge. Fully serviced a couple of years ago.. I also have very clean Technics 1200 SL turntable with a Denon 303 Cartridge. Both TTs look and sound great but I never use anymore since I got my Mofi Precisiondeck Fender limited edition turntable. Asking $600 for Dual 1229 or best offer - shipping at buyers expense asking $600 for Technics 1200 SL or best offer - shipping at buyers expense
  5. hope all of you guys get the medical care you need to beat this Cancer hell! Best of luck to all of you
  6. Congrats that setup looks awesome. I bet that system sounds fantastic.
  7. I did the titanium tweeter diaphragms on my Forte 1s and then changed to Dave As LMAHL tweeters. That combo sounds best IMHO. As far as power the Forte 1s are very efficient and would go very loud and clear with your Marantz. I powered my Forte 1s for many years with my Yamaha AVR before purchasing my Mcintosh 252 Hybrid integrated. I now run a full tube Primaluna Integrated which can blow my brains out with either the Forte 1s or Forte IVs. Klipsch speakers are extremely efficient but they just need clean amplifier power.
  8. I own a set of Forte 1s that were my fathers before his passing in 2000. They were my main speakers until two years ago when I bought a pair of Forte IVs. The ones are fantastic speakers and have great bass. I owned heresey 1s that I converted to super heresies and they sounded almost identical to my Forte 1s. In my opinion the IVs are the better sounding speaker of those 3 choices. The IVs have a wider and deeper soundstage and are so dynamic with clear mid range and sparking highs without fatigue. Low bass is very good but you won’t get lower than 30 hrz without a sub. Some people here love the Forte 1s but if I could have only one of the above choices it would be the IVs.
  9. System synergy is everything and I think my Primaluna EVO 400 Integratedwith the Forte IVs is a great match! I am not missing out on anything with my current setup.
  10. I get it! Chami and Gidget our everything to us! I understand your loss all too well!
  11. My heart breaks for your loss. Both of my dogs are 12 and both recently developed cancer. They are my wife and my closest living things EVER. I mourn for your loss! We worry about our pups every day - they are our joy! The bond and love with a dog is the best!!!!!!!
  12. I bought the kit that Vinshine Audio sells. It Includes the circuit that goes in the Node and the external power supply. vinshine is the worldwide distributor for Denefrips products. Very easy upgrade and Node 2i sounds better than ever. The Node 2i with the external power supply sounds as good as much higher priced streamers.
  13. Since getting the Forte IVs two years ago I have added the REL S812 Sub and changed outa lot of my preamp tubes along with upgrading the power supply in my Node 2i. It just keeps getting better and better here and I love the music more and more every day
  14. I agree with this above review. I love my Forte IVs! Soundstage is great, bass I deep and fast. Midrange vocals are amazing. Top end is warm and accurate but never fatiguing
  15. Quick question for you? I have a REL sub connected to the speaker connections for high level from sub to integrated. How would I connect the anti-mode in my system?
  16. David Lindley was an amazing guitarist and I saw him play with Jackson Browne and he was incredible. RIP David
  17. The Forte IVs sound fantastic. Much more accurate than my Forte 1s with deeper and wider sound stage and more accurate without listening fatigue. Mid bass is much better than my Forte 1s.
  18. I had the ma252 with my Forte 1s. Sounded really nice with the Fortes. Traded the Ma252 for an all tube integrated which had more of the sounds I was desiring but the Ma252 was a beautiful looking and sounding integrated amp. I think it would sound great with the heresy IVs
  19. My favorite thing about listening to music on my main system is when listening to James Taylor and Jackson Browne with my eyes closed and feeling like they are playing just for me in my living room. The combo of the Primaluna EVO, Forte IVs,REL S812 is pure musical joy. I want for nothing. Btw my Forte IVs sound best 12” from the back wall with a very tiny toe in with grills on.
  20. As someone that owns both forte 1s and Forte IVs I think I have said what differences I have experienced. The Forte IVs have a wider and deeper soundstage than the 1s. The IVs are smoother top to bottom and the bass is more punchy. I definitely think that for the genres I listen to all Fortes benefit from a well integrated subwoofer. There can be a lot of music in the lower registers that no version of the Forte can accurately energize. In my mind the IVs with a fast sub is music bliss to my ears. The Forte 1s sound awesome with my REL sub but the IVs blow my mind. I’m lucky to own both 1s and IVs.
  21. I have Forte 1s with Crites Crossovers and Dave A's SMAHL tweeters and they sound very nice. These were my dads and he left them to me when he passed. I now use them as my surround sound speakers and have a newer pair of Forte IVs as my mains. I find the Forte IVs to sound significantly better than the Forte 1s in many ways. Soundstage is wider and deeper with the IVs and they are warm and bright with zero fatigue. I agree the list price of the new Forte IVs are quite high at $5,000 but Paducah sold me mine for a lot less $$$$$. Its interesting that you prefer the 1s over the IVs but maybe it has something to do with the genres you enjoy listening to. Fortes are all great speakers. Enjoy you classic Forte 1s. I probably will never sell mine.
  22. They can last for more than 5,00 hours up to 100,000 hours or over 11 years using the Amp 24 hours a day that entire time

    RIP Gary Rossington

I love southern rock and Rossington was one of the best in that genre. RIP
