    What I Got Today!

Got a new MiniDSP DDRC 88BM. Never had a digital room correction device, so this will be somewhat of a learning curve for me. I have heard a great deal of good reviews of the DIRAC Live MiniDSP stuff. Looking forward to playing with it. Also got a new MFSL serialized gold disc copy of Rush Permanent Waves. The other Rush discs in the pic are either SCADs or Blue Ray Audio discs. I have been trying to accumulate either gold disc or SACD copies of some of my favorites. I thought More Klipsch Please would get a kick out of the Rush stuff. They have always been one of my two favorite bands. Pink Floyd is the other.
  3. Check out Audiogon. If I am not mistaken, there are a couple Adcom amps on there that I have seen recently. Used to own an Adcom many years ago. Great sound amp (not trying to infer that amps sound different... many online disagreements on that already), and real workhorse too. Another that you might search for is Marantz MM7025. I see those pop up every now and then. Nice amp, reasonably priced, 140 wpc.
  4. This is a little off topic, but How do the Palladiums sound with the Mac gear?
  5. In Savannah GA. here. It was bad, but could have been worse. A couple houses down from me a guy had been restoring a house for about a year or so. He just finished a couple months ago. A massive tree fell right in the middle of his house and darn near cut it half. Lots of similar damage. Mine was not so bad. Need a new roof and a great deal of yard work. I was preparing for the worst though. I was going to remove the drivers out of my new(ish) P-38s and lodge myself in there and was willing to be washed into the ocean in 'em. In all seriousness, prayers out to those less fortunate than myself. Some lost everything. Very somber faces around here.

    What I Got Today!

MUST HAVE ONE OF THESE! I bet that an enterprising individual could replicate this and similar plates and make a pretty fair amount of side money making these.
  7. I just bought the P38s in natural a couple months ago. So these won't match, but that price was just too good. I might put them in the bedroom instead. I know I will love 'em and I am glad Matt will be able to get his KLFs. Wait! Yeah, that's the reason I got them... to help help out a fellow Klipscher. Yes, it all makes sense now.
  8. I really need to stay off this site. This is too good of a deal to pass up. I will take them please. PM sent
  9. Woof! If only these were in the Natural finish...

    Oh No!

I'd pick Jen any day of the week. However considering how important they all seem to think of themselves and how all of us "little people" hang on their every move and their political beliefs. Screw 'em. I'll sit in my humble little house and jam.

    What I Got Today!

I really like the LED light strips. My CD rack definitely needs something like that. I have to keep a flashlight on top of it to see the CDs at night, even with the room lighting, which is bright enough for normal use. But not bright enough to see the CD titles when they are in the cabinet.
  12. What about marshmellows? Can we use those? I bet those have some serious damping qualities!
  13. Check out the Klipsch WA-2 wireless kit on their site. Could that be used as a work around to get your sub running?
  14. Cool. I would love to get some Heresys for my hobby room. I don't want bookshelf speakers, but don't really have room for tower speakers. I think those would be perfect. Would like to see how it looks when it is all set up with the risers.
  15. Great system. The speakers are excellent looking. I don't think I could tell if those are DIY or high end without being told. Is it possible to post a few more pics of the speakers, at least with the grills off? Cool CD player too!
  16. GLWS! I see OP get rid of lots of stuff. I wonder what he KEEPS!!
  17. But the tube traps can double as a foam roller
  18. What an incredible evolution in technology! I am thinking about selling my new P38s and getting some of this cable. When connected to my gas powered solar panels, should sound stunning.
  19. Well the P38s showed up. WOW! BIG boxes. Mad wife. She is a petite woman and the boxes were as tall her when stood upright. There much assurance that the boxes were much bigger than the speaker because of packing. First impressions: Appearance - They are very nice looking speakers. The wood looks great and passes WAF factor. Cool shape. Biggest speakers I have ever owned. Shipping - Packed very securely in double boxes with large padding everywhere. Speaker was in a large "sock". Connections - Sturdy, secure, shiney. Sound - I also received a new Parasound A21 amp the day after I got these so I am babying them for a few hours before I open them up. I have read many different opinions about whether or not there is a "break in period" for audio equipment. My KG 5.5s sounded much better over time so I am going with that. They sound VERY good. I do not know all of the super articulate vernacular for describing audio, but they sound "transparent" in that the differences between something recorded well (various SACDs) and other music that is moderately recorded and some that is just old stuff (various rock / classic rock) is very noticeable. They sound clear and the imaging is great, even in my non-audio specific listen room (regular living room with furniture). You can tell that they are powerful and will be willing to jam (see my user name) when I want them to. I will post some pics when I get a chance.
  20. Interesting necro thread. I try to listen to a CD or two before my wife gets home from everyday, that she would not normally be so inclined to listening to. I go to work very early so I get home a couple hours before she does. So I jam... and cook. By the time she gets home, I have it "out of my system" and diner is done. Today: Styxy Crystal Ball SACD (Just got it from Japan yesterday) Mark Knopfler Sailing To Philadelphia Rush Hemispheres SACD Definitely helps in the unwinding process after traffic, work, traffic.
