  1. Not a very good photo but if you zoom in you can see the U. I will try to post a better one. It fits perfectly over the edge of the plywood.
  2. I put aluminum U-channel on the front edges of my splits. Works well and is very stiff.
  3. Same here. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Unless I'm mistaken, putting them at the midpoint raises the resonant frequency by two. I think you might be better off by offsetting them by a tiny amount (1/8", 1/4"?) from center. Then you present two different resonant frequencies, one higher than fundamental / 2 and one lower than fundamental / 2. Am I right on this? The amount you'd have to move them off-center would mean that you couldn't visibly tell they weren't centered.
  5. Not going one way or the other on this, but here are some facts to consider... Two different retailers show the Klipschorn AK6 at $8249 each. I have a pricing sheet from 1 October 1967, which shows a K-B-WO Klipschorn at $804 each. Using the inflation calculator at https://www.bls.gov/data/inflation_calculator.htm, $804 in Oct 1967 is worth $6513 in July, 2021. $8249-$6513 = $1736. The AK6 contains the new tweeter, the new cable management system, and enclosed backs which the 1967 model did not have. I don't know how much to assign to each of those new features, but lumber prices have gone up too, as well as fuel. As far as them being priced out of reach, I felt this 35 years ago when I was in my 20's. No way could I afford a new pair any time between 1986 and now. I settled for used.
  6. I would love to have a set of Belles. Too far away and no where to put them. GLWTS.
  7. Not on facebook. can you post a photo and location?
  8. He told me he is looking forward to doing yard work.
  9. Many of you may know of Rescue Audio in St. Louis, run by Tim K. I know a few of you have purchased horns or cabinets from him in the past. He posted this today: "Rescue Audio is shutting down in 90 days. We’ll take that time to liquidate. I would like to thank ALL who made this thing happen for us in ‘18/‘19. It was a blast, we met a lot of great people, and together we were able to get some much needed help to many. Well done! The post covid AV norm cannot support this model, so it’s time to go. I’ll still be here on LinkedIn, and at the same physical address, but I’ll be using the space to house/maintain/operate my vintage hoard. I’m a personal buyer of pre 80s PA equipment, so if anyone runs into to anything that should be saved please reach out, I most likely have a home for it. Again, THANK YOU to everyone who assisted!!!! It was meaningful on many different levels and I’ll walk a better person for the experience." Now is your chance. I don't know if he still has any, but he DID have empty MCM cabs available.
  10. This is an amazing deal, can't believe someone hasn't jumped on it yet.
  11. Yeah that's an oddball for sure. Not Klipsch. OMG, it has lights and an awful paint job. It also has foam: Woofers have no slots. I bet that thing just sounds awful. Why in the world would someone do this? Not worth $3000. I'd give them $300 for the components inside, MAYBE.
  12. I feel that Bezos is taking a substantially greater risk on his upcoming flight. Isn’t it the first crewed Blue Origin flight? …and he is taking his brother too? Wow.
  13. nice system. if i only had a job and a truck and a place to put them.
  14. I'm hoping for a Klipsch pilgrimage event in the fall!
  15. Not what I was referring to. You answered my question by posting the SN label. The "C" in KC-BR means that these are indeed type C. No Collar. The "BR" is for raw birch. The "P" in the serial number is 1976.
  16. what's up with the collar on these? is this a C? GLWS
  17. GREAT sub. Recommended. GLWS
  18. cool. i do bare-metal stuff, mostly. bootloaders, patch tools, drivers, etc. for microcontrollers.
  19. https://www.ebay.com/itm/164908602672 Says they were made by SLM to plans. I never knew SLM to do something like this unless it was done as a side project. Anyway, they look to be in rough shape, and I'm not sure what is going on with the doghouses, but they have a funny seam and I'm wondering if it is a butt joint instead of a bevel? No drivers. Maybe worth $50-$100 each? No affiliation.
  20. If you can afford it, replace both. I might be tempted to say you can’t afford not to.
