  1. But JBL SDA-2200 can't be run in stereo when using one single amplifier in bridged mode. One amp, one channel, no matter what. Stereo requires two of these amplifiers when bridged period . Bridged = Monoblock
  2. Actually that's Mono only when bridging. Per the manual... Bridged mono mode requires the use of a SDA-2200 for each channel. Note: In bridged mode only the L+ and R+ speaker outputs are required. WARNING: Do not make any connections to the L- or R- speaker terminals, doing so will severely damage your amplifier.
  3. Pretty warm actually, and that is at 5' in length. I'm sure the dryer would melt down before the cord though if you left it run long enough. Not sure that's the case here though, how long are the wire runs?
  4. With two matched pair of 8ohm speakers (non of the kind he owns) and not bridging he would stand a good chance with that high quality amp. I'm still wondering how he got 3 pairs of speaker wires into those jacks. 18ga wire carrying 1100W??? How hot did the speaker wire get?
  5. If it is only this, you are not using it correctly. https://www.jblsynthesis.com/products/electronics/amplifiers/SDA-2200-.html You should use something like this in between the amp and those speakers. https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=38160&gclid=Cj0KCQiA47GNBhDrARIsAKfZ2rAmkO_c-DyHqY4yNK5Mul2LA6EkVFFqN82w_GiLDorGDNfi0nHylygaAhw0EALw_wcB
  6. It says 5 Channel right in the thread title. That is why I came in here. I was trying to engage with you, hoping that you had some more information and opinions that you would like to share with the rest of us. If you don't want to participate, that's fine and entirely up to you. Obviously viewpoints that swing toward preferring multichannel configurations will be outnumbered when posted in a 2-channel thread chain. I don't see that as a sign reading "stay out". I didn't even know I had "a place". Surely you jest. Also, I didn't trash anything or anyone.
  7. Dolby is releasing a new update to the Dolby Surround Upmixer (DSU) in 2022. Some new products, or possibly firmware updates, will now be able to unlock the true potential of DSU, unleashing the capability for properly managing content on up to 34 separate speakers in a home theater. Specs have not been released yet. Currently on the market DTS:X Pro supports up to 30 speaker positions with 4 different layers of speaker arrangements, as seen below.
  8. Come again? You can't be serious. "as" is a two letter word holding a lot of weight within your little comment.
  9. This was my experience when I purchased Morrow Audio rca interconnects. Ordered 4 pairs in 2 different tiers to use for a new 7 channel amplifier. It took a few weeks to get them. I was advised to allow them to burn in for several weeks as prescribed by the manufacturer. I couldn't even wait that long to listen to my music at the high quality I was used to. Both tiers were lacking something. I say about a 5% decline overall, but not evenly across the entire audio band. I contacted Morrow and they were like, Oh no! don't disconnect them! they will reset and you will have to burn them in again. Returned them all for a full refund and learned a lesson at the same time.

  12. I am so sorry you have suffered so much. I had no idea. I have not had to suffer this myself. On your second point. IMOP Everyone has the right to believe what they will. Vax or anti-vax, travel or shelter, pro or con science, etc. I personally do not care what choices an individual decides for themselves. Everyone is correct when they follow what they truly believe in. I don't want to, or even try to convince anyone of anything. I only provide and share personal experiences and information because ignorance is not a valid excuse. What I do care about most is how another individuals choices effect me, directly or not. What I am saying is that what ever choices you make, be sure you have your affairs in order. Care about someone besides yourself. Protect those around you. Be willing to compromise to meet the immediate needs and wishes of those around you that may not share your own beliefs. Ask yourself, what is more important? Masking up/vaxing up, or making sure you have the following... Advance directive Durable power of attorney for health care Revocable living trust Will Durable financial power of attorney Good health Insurance 6+ months emergency fund Final wishes and arrangements planning
  13. That is what my Son-In-Law kept saying to me. Seriously. I say it too, but then I do allow myself restraint and willingly accept sacrifice as a hedge against certain life gambles. Not everyone needs to be, or should be one way, or the other. I just wanted to let you all know that right now, my Son-In-Law (Joe) is spending what may actually end up being his last remaining days on Earth laying face down on his Covid deathbed in a Lacrosse, Wisconsin hospital Covid-19 ICU ward. Three weeks prior having received a positive Covid-19 test. At a local hospital just last week, he was fighting the nurses hard against their recommendation of him being intubated, such a nice guy he is, right until he was all but passed out. The hospital staff finally intubated him just hours before he was Flight For Life helicoptered across the state. This is just a few days ago. He is at this time on full medical support. His prognosis is, if he does survive, he will likely require at least one lung transplant. One lung has now gone hard, and may soon collapse, or even explode. Who knows at this point what's happening to the rest of his organs as the disease has free reign and ravishes his body while his immune system is beat down from the blood cancer he recovered from just 4 years ago. Not like a live for today personality type to set up proper and legal family planning, JIK, you know? I know, it just takes time and money away from all the fun that can be had. Reflecting upon this now, I suppose my wife and I probably will need to figure out how we are to now care for a daughter and one minor grandchild, 2 adult grandchildren. Financially, emotionally, legally, what else? His estate is entirely a mess. Thanks Son. You really did really well holding out on common sense and going full rebel on your way out. We should all learn a great lesson from your lifetime of anti-conformism. Allow me to be your voice tonight Joe, as your airways are entirely too full of plastic tubing... Go Proud Boys! **** Vaccines! **** Covid! We all love you Joe. Always have. Please have forgiveness for me. For you own sake, and for the sake of those gathered around you, tonight I pray for you, a swift and painless death.
  14. Omicron is the fifth coronavirus variant of concern named by the WHO. The other four are: alpha, beta, gamma and delta. 26 November 2021 https://www.who.int/news/item/26-11-2021-classification-of-omicron-(b.1.1.529)-sars-cov-2-variant-of-concern 28 November 2021 https://www.who.int/publications/m/item/enhancing-readiness-for-omicron-(b.1.1.529)-technical-brief-and-priority-actions-for-member-states 28 November 2021 https://www.who.int/news/item/28-11-2021-update-on-omicron Now you can track this variant from the very start. Observe for yourself how a highly infectious disease spreads across the globe. https://www.gisaid.org/hcov19-variants/ These variants do have a way of dying out though. Mu was the last Covid variant to reach "variant of interest" status. Lambda before that. Check out the www.gisaid.org link I provided to view the charts on those now relatively dead variants.
  15. Is that a humidor and box of cigars? Are you going to smoke them?
  16. Welcome to the world of vintage speakers. Been this way for decades. You should try JBL and see what happens. I know some folks who have spent 8X the original MSRP just on restorations for some models because the parts are so hard to find. I already have one whole spare Chorus II JIK, or else I would have purchased one from the listing myself already. Unrelated product, as has been argued by many, and confirmed by few. It will fit in the cabinet hole. I think it would be great if you would start a new thread. If I was going to keep a pair of Forte II's long term, I would have already purchased that one just to keep on my shelf for a backup. Edit: I just noticed the weight is missing on the KD-15 you listed. It will perform very poorly as is.
  17. OOS. Been asking for years. Nice try though. Drop in any time. Gotta keep that post count rolling.
  18. Unaffiliated. Likely a member here. If you are that member and would like me to take down this thread, I will do that ASAP, just ask. Either way, I wouldn't wait on this ultra rare opportunity. I know of at least 4 here who were looking.
