  1. LOL! I just saw that this thread was resurrected from 21 years ago. LOL! I just put 35 cents into the payphone and never even got an answering machine. Not even a dial tone. Who should I contact for a refund? LOL! @JohnJ
  2. Look, another pair showed up today. Same price of $300. https://minneapolis.craigslist.org/wsh/ele/d/glenwood-city-klipsch-kg-32-speakers/7310684116.html

    No longer for sale.
  4. +1 Forgot this is new construction. Blow the entire budget on the construction of the room. Seroiusly. Now is the time, not later. Plan to leave the room completely barren empty until you have a budget again later. Just get the controlled lighting, ductwork, ventilation, wiring, 20 amp circuits, soundproofing, etc.
  5. Connecting the dots. Today, I sat that these showed up in my neck of the woods. Hope the reference helps. I only have a "pair" of KV3 centers in that class, besides the KG 5.5's I have been sitting on. https://greenbay.craigslist.org/ele/d/oneida-klipsch-kg-32-speakers/7309886011.html
  6. What? What? I can't hear you. You'll have to speak louder. I have a room close to that size. I started just like you. Shortly thereafter, I went overboard. I recall a time when accounted for just the weight of the speakers alone in that space. It came out to around 950 pounds. All active. My equipment rack weighs at least another 400 pounds. The entire room is pretty damped with room treatments though. You will have very significant room gain. Why not use the Moon you own? I recommend against Yamaha/Klipsch combos. Yes, this includes the premium lines. Especially when using AVR or integrated. Others will have their own opinions. Maybe they live in a glass house? If you are planning on upgrading later, you are better off going uses/refurbished for now, paying attention to items with good resale value. Later when you want to play for keeps, make sure you can demo in your own room with option of free returns. Focus on quality with your amp and gear, power is a very distant second with your speaker selections. Many members here have very simple setups that took many stages to get to. Be sure to use their knowledge. Read the threads. Save some budget for room treatments. Your room accounts for a large share of what information your brain/ear actually receives.
  7. All items are SOLD Thank You. Enjoy.

  9. Pretty hard to build them when all the factories are still smoldering. https://www.channelnews.com.au/another-fire-at-japanese-chip-plant-set-to-wreak-havoc/ this is the third major fire at a Japanese chip factory in 18 months.
  10. Sale is pending. All sales are suspended until further notice.
  11. Change the TV mount to a drop down. Your neck will be happier. Buy and roll in an equipment rack on wheels. You need to be able to get at the back of the equipment so roll out is your best option. Remove the lower shelf from the corner recess. Raise the shelf to elevation that works for you and touch up the drywall and paint. Install removable cable trays. Try Legrand. Buy a center channel speaker stand. Ear level. Place the sub where it sounds best in your room. Do not shove it in that left side recess or you will have create a bandpass with limited frequency output ie, it will sound boomy. Outside of rare occasions, just ignore the fact that there is a fireplace, unless you happen to enjoy roasted HT products. Your not going to break your lease with any of my suggestions. Good luck and send us those pictures when you get moved in. The links are just there to get you on the path. 12. Edit: I went back and there were 6 boxes still there. So I purchased an additional 1000 empty cases. I am very happy to say that my entire movie collection contains zero eco cases now. I saved a few spares for later too. Of course a bunch hit the recycle bin. 700 empty eco cases are now on their to the thrift shop. Who the hell decided to put holes in these things?
  13. 194 empty blu-ray cases. Various brands. All are singles or doubles. When you have a private collection of 2000 movies these things come in real handy. I got them all for less than the price of the cardboard box they are in. I turned down the option to make it an even 1000 empties. When ordering replacements from somewhere like www.casetopia.com shipping can get pricey.
  14. Thanks for posting this thread. Now onto some more random crap from me to share with all of you. Enjoy. Never heard of this brand. I pretty much only wear wool (min 60%) socks anymore. Goes right along with my leather lined footwear. Right now I own... Bridgedale, Fox River, Kirkland, Lorpen, and Wigwam. So I decided to check this deal out. I put in my cart 4 pairs of over-the-calf worsted wool socks size L. Would much prefer to find Merino. Looks like with all the added discounts I would be paying $15 a pair instead of $25. Am I crazy for even thinking about doing this? I am not yet sold on these specifically. The last time I bought socks like these was in 2017. Probably purchased 40 different pairs total over a 2 year span. Now they are all pretty much shot, but I feel like I probably saved a good bit of skin and even a little change over the past 5 years going with 2 drawers full of men's wool hosiery. I just hate when it's time to overhaul those drawers. Good socks are hard to find, and good deals on good socks is even harder. Last time I was buying I was paying on average $6-$8 a pair at various outlets. It's probably going to cost me several Benjamins this time around. I know not everyone is that into wool like I am, but that's just where I am at. Enjoy all of the naturally inherent benefits to wearing wool socks including... insulating properties insulating even when wet keeping your feet dry fast drying anti-bacterial odor-resistant luxurious softness not prone to cause blisters Very durable ( they last you a long time) Negatives are Up-front cost Hand wash, Dry flat Availability (not at Walmart) Allergies are a myth. And if your the one who thinks wool is just too hot, then you are simply not wearing the correct weight. Try wearing a low cut ultralight in the summertime when going on a long walk and your feet will definitely thank you after.
  15. https://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hnp/ele/d/minneapolis-klipsch-epic-cf2-controlled/7299090445.html Klipsch Epic CF2 Controlled Focus Horn + Twin 8" Loudspeakers Beautiful 1-owner wonders in medium oak enclosures, near perfect. Amazing Neodymium-magnet woofers and compression horn driver. 98dB @ 1watt @ 1 meter sensitivity, 200 rated watts (1000 W peak)! Breathtaking presentation - voiced for musical accuracy, not output. Matched pair, bookmatched oak veneer, consecutive serial numbers.
  16. Massive price cuts. New titles added.
  17. It gets worse. Much worse. This one costs $400,000,000 in world trade value every hour. Guess who's going to pay. https://www.cnn.com/2021/03/26/business/global-shipping-supply-chains/index.html
  18. Here's why. It's not even Covid-19 related. Every one has to get used to this reality. The whole planet is adapting to this extremely unfortunate news. https://www.audioholics.com/news/fire-destroys-akm-audio-chip-factory My DENON AVR-X4400H isn't budging off my rack for anything less than $1K U-Pick-Up until the supply chain normalizes. That's not a solicitation, just the way it is right now. I mean if someone really needed it, but I am not making the effort right now because it is going to cost me 170% to replace it. I wish you luck in your search. If you do the leg work and get a little lucky you might get something on your list. Just don't leave your wallet at home and make sure you are first in line.
  19. Absolutely nothing. Something is seriously wrong with that. I just never run across anything with the Klipsch name on it. I mean doesn't everyone with 50,000 subscribers on Youtube have a brand and a line of t-shirts and other merchandise? I think Klipsch is kind of loosing revenue here by not marketing the brand effectively. Maybe they should be licensing the copyrighted logos out to more outside groups. Disney does that very well. We need a mascot too. So we can have Funko Pops and Bobbleheads. PWK Bobblehead??? JK>. Like the other day I saw a guy wearing a Black Cat Fireworks T-shirt. Bright yellow shirt with that screaming black cat face all mean-like and in your face. I was like, why don't I already own that shirt? I don't think I would need to call a Chinese firework company to order one. It's in the mail now. https://www.blackcatthreads.com/product/black-cat-yellow-t-shirt/ I do have a plan to get some stuff though. Stay tuned. I hope to be reporting here on some acquisitions of some non-audio Klipsch items in the near future.
  20. Sometimes I consider the possibility of trading out my current set-up for La Scalas, at least the LCR stage, but then I always think about hunting down that third one or where I can store the orphan. Pretty much the only available upgrade path that I could realistically pull off. I can only dream of the day when I find 3-4 La Scalas ready to go out the door. In this particular case, they are only an hour away, but no way am I going to be selling 2 minty pairs of Chorus II to pay for 1 pair of LS. Pretty sure these will be here for a while anyway so I will get to spend more time drooling over the idea. If I knew someone who had an orphan already, or was willing to split, then there would be more here for me to discuss. For now I'll just hang out here. ---- ---- 👁️ 👁️ 👃 👄
