    Well, apparently Klipsch doesn't seem to be selling any K-75-K, K-79-K or K-792-KP tweeters any more, so I guess my last and only hope will be trying to get a pair K-107-ti tweeters from Klipsch. Anyone tried them on the Forte II? How do they sound? Still the same size magnet, right? I wish they popped up on ebay more than about once a year...

    Imagine my horror! Ugh, I'm getting frustrated. I can't seem to find any place to buy the right tweeter magnets. Klipsch already referred me to the service point in the Netherlands, but the spokesperson there is a bit of a "Droopy" for who sending an e-mail to Klipsch apparently is like "moving heaven and earth," as he said so himself...

    does it have the same size magnet? because the Heresy III has the same tweeter as well... EDIT: the K-107-ti uses a K-100-ti driver, right? so that could be another part I could look out for... so then, the K-75-K, K-79-K, K-792-KP, K-100-ti/k-107-ti all should have the same size magnet.

    Ok so I contacted the Klipschgroup for the parts but I received a message saying that they had none of the tweeters mentioned available. I'm starting to run out of ideas. Are there any modern day equivalents of the tweeters listed above?

    Well this is a bummer, they guy who I thought had K79-K tweeters for sale didn't have them any more. If anyone has a spare pair of either K-75-K, K-79-K or K-792-KP tweeters laying around and is willing to part with them, please shoot me a PM.

    Awesome. That gives me a lot more opportunities. I already found a guy who sells the K-79-K for... €50,- apiece. Ouch. Otoh, I bought my Fortes for €450,- and I'd probably have bought them for €550,- as well..

    @jjptkd: have you had any chance in comparing the K-75 with the K-79 or the K-792? Is there any difference in efficiency? Will either take the K-75 horn? Sorry for so many questions...

    Nooo!! this is how they sat in my Fortes. What I ordered from Bob were the Ti diaphragms. But that's no use until I find some K-75 drivers. I don't get it. How can someone either loose and/or break the tweeter drivers? They're INSIDE the cabinet.

    Ok, this is a BIG disappointment. I ordered Bob Crites' ti tweeters for my Fortes and upon removing the tweeters I notice to my dismay that they have the completely wrong tweeters! They're not even Klipsch! And what's worse, some complete moron GLUED the horns onto them! Now I have to find myself a pair of K-75-K drivers. Probably a set of horns too... The horns are the same as the Heresy II, correct?

    Anybody know what the mid horn type is for the Forte II? One of them seems to be a little deformed and has a different color than the other one and also seems to be sounding a little harsher than the other one.

    Well, after some looking lo and behold I actually found a pair of Forte II speakers, about 60Km from my place. I picked them up for €450,- Unfortunately the passive radiator of one of the speakers has a small tear near the edge of the cone and in the fabric surround, but it was sealed with glue and I couldn't feel any air passing through, even when playing loud, so I guess it's probably fine. Also one of the mid horns seems to be a bad mould, because one side isn't flush with the cabinet and looks like it's slightly "tucked inward." What do you guys think, fair price? Considering it's in the Netherlands... I've seen Heresies go here for more than what I paid for these. First thing I'll probably be doing is new crossovers and also one day I'll probably give them new diaphragms. Maybe I'll add some bracing to the cabinets too. Playing them with a Classé CAP-101 and I'm surprised at how punchy they are, considering it's got a passive radiator; not boomy at all. I mean they're not as quick as the Heresies, but I guess everything's a trade-off.

    Unfortunately in the Netherlands, where I live, Fortes don't seem to show up very often. For about 120 Euros however, I can get T 400 cabinets made. Plus Klipsch has titanium midrange diaphragms for the K-53 driver and I'm not aware there existing a titanium forte midrange diaphragm out there.

    Ok, so I'm scratching my head a bit about what to do. I'm loving my Heresy II's but i'm lusting for just a bit more bass. I don't necessarily require 20Hz deep bass (although I wouldn't mind it either) I'm considering either building a Tangent 400 size ported cabinet with some proper internal bracing and eventually upgrading the mid and tweeter diaphragms with titanium ones from Crites and Klipsch. or build a set of Crites 1.5T speakers or just wait until a pair of Forte II come along. What I'm wondering is, is whether the Tangent 400 cabinet is the ideal size for the K-24 woofer and whether the bass ports and woofer are on the ideal hight. I wonder, because I've read is that for the CWIII, they moved the woofer up a bit higher and that resulted in less of a dip in the spectrum. Does anyone have any experience building Tangent 400-like cabinets for the HII?

    Those look amazing! Did you just use the original HI squawker with a different horn? How's the bass control? not too "boomy?"

    I've become very interested in tubes!! I'm only worried they won't have the bass control/slam as my Classé has with the Heresies, which I really like... I initially had them on the floor, angled up, but I didn't like it. Something about music coming from the corner of the floor just seemed unnatural to me. I now have them 30cm from the floor, slightly angled up, much better. They do seem to be very room dependant, though. My living room has a sort of inverted "L-shape" and the speaker facing the "foot" of the L seems to produce more bass than the other one. I already swapped the speakers to check if they were at fault, but the result was the same.

    I've been active on this forum for a little while now, but I realised I've never really properly introduced myself yet. So let me herby try to make up for that: My name's Laszlo and I'm from the Netherlands. Unfortunately not a country where Klipsch speakers are as abundant as say, in the US. The prices I see second hand Klipsch Heritage speakers go for in the US as compared to in the Netherlands, makes me cry a little inside, actually. $250,- for a set of as-new cherry Hersy 2s? Man, I was lucky to find a set of H2s on a Dutch second-hand site a few weeks ago, because they don't pop up that often. Paid € 575,- for them, but I'm happy to have them. I really wanted ones with a nice wood veneer finish, but these were black ones (hey, beggars can't be choosers.) Maybe one day I'll sand them down to reveal the wood veneer beneath, as I suspect there is, under the black paint. Funny, I've had B&W speakers for many years, cdm7nt and cdm9nt consecutively. Played them with a Classé CAP-80 integrated and it sounded pretty smooth, but to me the music never really "came alive," so to speak. Later tried a Krell KAV-300i integrated with the cdm9nt and despite that amp having more punch and power, I still kinda missed a kind of "liveliness" to the sound. A friend of mine had a pair of Yamaha NS-144 speakers and although not as advanced as my B&W speakers at the time, they always seemed to sound WAY more dynamic than my set, especially with rock music. So I went on a search for a good "rock" speaker and after a google search I came across a review of the Heresy 3 that made me very interested about this speaker. I really became curious as to what all the hype was about. Realizing I couldn't afford a new set of H3s I went on the lookout for a set of H2s. I still had my Classé CAP-80 laying around and this seemed to be a good combo with the H2s. It never had the power to bring my B&Ws to life as I wanted, but combined with the H2s, it's a whole different story! Where say, a snare drum on the Classé/B&W combo always seemed to sound a little "limp-wristed" (pardon the expression), you can now practically feel the impact of the "smack." Think "PANG!" instead of "puh.." The music comes "alive" instead of just being "played back." While not as advanced or refined as the B&Ws and having substantially less bass (the only thing I'm really missing in the B&Ws absence) I feel like I've finally gained something that's sorely been missed in my musical enjoyment for a long time.

    Funny, I've had B&W speakers for a lot of years, cdm7nt and later the cdm9nt and they never sounded this open and dynamic, even with a Krell integrated amp. Only thing I miss about them is a bit of lower bass, but even then, the Heresies have a punch the B&Ws can't surpass.

    The results of a day and a half's work. My first time building crossovers. I was pretty nervous but I'm happy to say that nothing exploded upon installation. All magic smoke still contained. Maybe I'll use a slightly smaller gauge wire next time instead of 4mm speaker wire, but that's what I had laying around... I was slightly concerned I might had damaged the caps because I was heating the joints for quite a long time, but everything seems to work ok. My first impressions are: slightly brighter sound, maybe more detail, even leaner bass than before, but than may just be a direct result of the perceived increase in brightness. I may try the titanium tweeters again later, but for now I'm happy to have my speakers working again.
