  1. eric!!!! an intresting question although my take is, not heritage or reference , more the klipsch sound. the fact that a company that produce a quality product, from 50 plus years ago to be compaired with its product of today, where the vision of the inventor is still present today. i don't believe klipsch will or have, but rather maintain the sound. my opionion though through limited experiance, 76 corn 90 quartet 2000 ss&sc1
  2. Thank's for your response, yes&yes, from responses it seems that the there is a vast difference in design goals, realising that the high standards needed to acheive the buliders goal, the technacial specification in their design will only be visible on a scope, and their audioble range, can only be heard by the listiner, baised on the voicing of the bulider,so since a class" a/b" by its very nature is built on the basis of change its naturally seeks to adapt as stress is applied. The class" a" design is whatever condition, its requirement is to function in its design range. two different approach to the listner's ear. thanks
  3. For my edification does an amplifier exhibit the same charastic wether a 3,5,25 , watt ss or tube played in class "a" as a 30, 50,125, tube or ss amplifier design for a/b played in class "a" what would be the defficiences of the class a/b amp. please not trying to irritate or incite seems to me that one is beign infered i'am looking for clarification.
  4. Question would be what is there about the fotre that you least appreciate, and your expectation of the cornwalls. the numbers on the front might seem atractive , in the long run the possibilities and cost of owning cornwalls might just outweight the benifit.effiency will change sound, amplification might need to be changed, upgrade of network is verry possible and is suggested, size , listening habbits, after considering these and other factors, if it seems good trade on.
  5. anarchist! remember that the loads given are always baised on 240volts, also this is not maintained as appliance reach its opperating temp and turns its self off , diversity.
  6. Verygood point , although i might suggest that a perodic inspection every10 years could prevent some of these situation, though it also opens the pockets of those who can least afford to " how much insurance can the regular joe afford "?. its one of the most feared utility we use , and ironically one of the safest due to its strindgent code. 7. meagain! i can't remember reading any where that you are experiencing problem blowing fuses or tripping breakers, i t seems to me in my ignorance to first install an indevidual &dedicated branch circuit including the grounding conductor from your panel box, ask your elecrtrician to use #10wire , by the way is your house in conduit,or some type of sheath cable? hopefully you'll have additional space in your box, if not i"m sure an electrician who is capable will be able to see what load is beign used on your smallest circuits and safely combine them to free up a circuit for this purpose, Unless you are using an astsomical amount of power the demand load that is calculated in an electrical service is never maxemised, this is why 200 Amps is now beign used verses100 Amp from the pass. spiking happens in pico secounds and realistically should not affect your system. Also have the electrican check and tighten the conductors in your box especally the neutral , which if loose and is a part of a multiwire circuit can in some cases present a higher constant voltage , this would not be good at all.
  8. For you it should be a [G] Send them to Ryan []
  9. Some of the changes i've made over the last few months, has been to change origonal caps to Bec GE cans, this made a marked difference to clarity. replacing speaker wire, and i do understand that some are of the opinion that this does not affect sound. From my own experience there is a improvement, tried ic with same wire and the SS seem to become laboured where as the bottlehead pre through acurus amp was a bit sharpry, the ic remained with the bottlehead. This i listen to quite often only having to warm up limited the combo and listening was done mostly at weekend, so was very fimiliar with sound, now the outlaw pre and amp came together like effortless. Nice top to bottom.just needed a bit more upper mids, and the last shimmer from a simbal, which brings me to this point, bought some VCaps and replace the Bec, these caps Dean made mention of in a tread thah he thought highly of , and from how they have affected my system i can say they are nothing to snivle at .because of how the tube gear sounds ,getting what i am aiming for in the upper mid and the high back into my ss will make it worthwhile.
  10. from gaspr post this would be most benifical to those who would like tohave some type of real life situation to get a clearer view ,there is a large amount of info to sift through, & focusing on a particular project would definately benifit some one like me . excelent means of bringing this topic into focus.
  11. Thanks for your responce ! didn't actually consider room treatment as a probable cause, seems like a course in engineering needs to be my next course of action,is there no quick fix in this hi-tech world of accustic. plastered walls, ceiling, tile floor =wall treatment.
  12. After replacing caps in cornwall 1 found the sound that you are now getting is a change wherein dewald tube intregrated amp is sounding like your SS, and bottlehead pre, relaxed and smooth only a bit more of all you had aim for. ie top , mid more pronounced without beign harsh. Then only to find that your beloved ss is in serious need of some aditional something, it seem to me that possible the problem area might be my outlaw 950, which i'm quite fond of.and would have discribe as natural,so too the acurus amp. my delima how to recapture the signiture of my system without too much upheaval,a great sleeper pre would be nice, not tube .I have enough to use as reference. This is about a certain sound that i've been trying to atain and find it evolving where i least expected it to,what would you do?
  13. have you tried revursing the pos&neg on speaker 'a ' never know?
