  1. Hello ! @Woofers and Tweeters I'm French, so sometimes I don't understand everything in English! Looks to me like you want to know when Pink Floyd left the PL 700 for SAEs: here's is a nice story of Pink Floyd's Live Sound, so far I've read about PL700 and BSS amplifier, but nothing about SAE : maybe I skipped a line ??? 😜 Note: he talks about lots of nice equipment: Midas, microphones from Shure, Altec, Gauss, ... But, but, but there are P500s to amplify 15", 12" & Tad 2001: P500 are not the SAEs you are looking for? In 1984, during the band’s inactive period, Britannia Row Productions became an independent company, purchased from Pink Floyd by Robbie Williams and Bryan Grant. For this tour, Brit Row merged their own facilities with those of their close associates, American-based Maryland Sound Inc. (MSI) whose proprietary PA stock formed the core of the touring system. This featured quantities of 4 x 15-inch low packs, 4 x 12-inch high packs and a TAD 2001 high end driver, all powered by P500 amplification. https://soundgirls.org/welcome-to-the-machine-the-story-of-pink-floyds-live-sound/ Other version https://pfco.neptunepinkfloyd.co.uk/band/interviews/art-rev/art-sos4.html
  2. What are you looking for ? http://jerobison.blogspot.com/2008/02/pink-floyd-sound-circa-1979.html I had a superb Audio Research D100A Solid State which worked extremely well, the sound was wonderful. But unfortunately he made me smoke beautiful Leedh Ether speakers: GRRrrrrrrrrr! I put it away and sold it for parts. LEEDH Ether 1983
  3. One thing that I really like about the Tannoys is that there are adjustment pads, it's better than rotary Lpad Exemple sur Arden Legacy
  4. The sqwaker & treble driver and horn is in center of bass speaker >>> Tannoy = 2 voices, Klipsch Heritage = 3 voices
  5. The Tannoys have the reputation of being a little dark and the highs are a little listened to, they are sometimes a little soft and not too dynamic, some find that the junction between the bass cone and the midrange horn is sometimes dug. They are soft and immerse you in the middle of the music, their coaxial speakers are a fantastic source point. The Klipsch they are direct, the sound is often uncompromising with a powerful medium, the bass is light. And depending on the models, they are criticized for being a little short at the bottom (Heresy, La Scala). With a dynamic close to live sound, the Klipsch propels you into the heart of the music, the bass is punchy and articulate, the mids are deep and the treble goes high. Be careful, these are a little caricatural outlines, some listeners will prefer one, others the other or both. The art will be to make a happy marriage with electronics. I heard big Tannoy monitors with 2x15" and 500 liters of loads of the Gold Monitor series in a mixing studio in Paris: the sound was fantastic. 😎
  6. Hi @Klipschguy I have a MC 2125: there has been a very very slight buzzing in the speaker woofers for 15 years, but it has not changed: so I am monitoring. However, I have no noise from the MC2125 amplifier itself, no noise or hum in the shelf. You can check if no screw or nut is loosened on your transformer itself or at its fixing on the frame.
  7. I would have answered, Welcome to the Klipsch forum, We are here a forum of enthusiasts (sometimes a little gruff πŸ˜‹), we will do our best to make this moment here pleasant for you and we will help you. Regarding your connection problem tell us what is wrong and also tell us what you do not understand on the diagram posted by Micromara. See you soon ! πŸ˜€
  8. More seriously, rather than riding bikes on it 😁 it is better to taste olive oil in Mediterranean cuisine: Italy, South of France, Spain, Greece, Lebanon, Tunisia, Morocco, ... and all the others ! It's a delight πŸ˜‹ https://www.google.com/search?q=cuisine+mΓ©diterranΓ©enne&sxsrf=ALeKk02X1aXkDA_Ciuntz9qEFsu7WJgPtA:1606411644372&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjO1rPb3aDtAhUUnBQKHd7sAQs4ChD8BSgBegQIBRAD&biw=1366&bih=625 https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cuisine_grecque Making speakers is also cooking, and here I would say that the American cooks are very good, especially in Hope 😎
  9. Hi @JBCODD Everything is right in what you say, but if you want really high-end speaker, use AOP (Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée) olive oil from my region 😎 https://www.aoc-lesbauxdeprovence.com/le-terroir/la-vallee-des-baux-de-provence.htm Van Gogh himself loved them so much, when he was in Saint-Remy-de-Provence
  10. πŸ˜€Nickel for straps / cables Yes unboxing day is a great day 😜
  11. Hi @salbake I see this very late and I do not know if you have already been informed, but you have to remove the straps with your Cardas dual wiring. Your installation and your CW1 and CW 4 are 😍
  12. On the Beyma Spain site it is marked discontinued, but there is certainly some stock left at the importers and sellers. This tweeter is a copy of the 2404H from JBL https://www.beyma.com/en/products/c/compression-tweeter/1TWCP258/twt-cp-25-8-oh/ The specs of D120 of B&C > DE120 8ohm πŸ™‚

  14. A little reading to move your project forward & Yes it's a good idea to contact Eminence to get their opinion πŸ™‚ ✌️
  15. Kappa pro 15 LFC could be a great candidate, look at the T&S settings to see if it is right for you https://www.eminence.com/speakers/speaker-detail/?model=Kappa_Pro_15LFC
  16. Here is a proposal either for repair with shipment or replacement with Kappa 15C https://reconingspeakers.com/product/klipsch-121534-chorus-ii-woofer/
  17. Hi VinylManiac πŸ€ͺ And here is a set of Virgin Prunes, it's a complete original with all the inserts that I bought in 1982, I am the first owner. The records are 25cm (10 ") 33 rpm, the record company is" L'invitation au Suicide " Le Havre, France. The Virgin Prunes are childhood friends of U2, they lived on the same street, the guitarist of the Prunes is the brother of The Edge. Gavin Friday, is a very famous singer in Ireland, he sang with the Corrs, he also wrote music for films that you know: Impossible Mission , Moulin Rouge, In the Name Of The Father, Short Cuts, In America, ... https://www.discogs.com/fr/Virgin-Prunes-Heresie/release/9305023 HERESYIE but not the Klipsch πŸ™ƒ
  18. How does the CWIII sound, the bass is good? If so there is no reason that the bass of the CWIVs should not be as good over time.
  19. Hello ! Good news πŸ˜„ In my opinion Klipsch should clearly indicate in the manual of its HERITAGE, that the speakers must relax about 100 hours before giving a big sound. Many users are initially disappointed when the speakers are stiff. And to reassure you a little more, patience, here is the opinion of Steve Huff https://www.stevehuffphoto.com/2020/04/13/klipsch-cornwall-iv-speaker-review-the-gentle-giant/ They are massive but never overpower my 12X13 room. I can turn it up to concert levels and yet no boom, no harshness, no shouting, no ear fatigue at all. Rather, after 100 hours of break in these speakers kept changing and finally settled in to a speaker that does so much right, and so little wrong. The first 100 hours? They were a tad flat, soft and closed in sounding. After 100 hours they opened up dramatically and came into their own. UPDATE: After 150 hours the sound got worse. Flatter, as if the bass dropped off. I ran them in music room #2 for weeks and then when I brought them back to my main system they sounded totally different again. After 400 hours they are simply incredible, some of the best speakers I have ever heard. Break in IS real but the good news is no need to worry about it, just play them and play them and one day you will say β€œDAMN THESE SOUND SOOOO GOOD”!
  20. Welcome Yes I confirm ask Bob Crites what he has as a solution for you: either a diaphragm for K77 or a CT125 which will repair your beautiful Heresy πŸ˜„
  21. Hi @Dave A Note: I am French, so be careful if my English is misleading, looking at the diagrams will be explicit, thank you. To let some energy pass through the top of the spectrum, you have to put a capacitor on the 10ohm resistor. The value will be to try and choose according to the desired effect, the higher the value will be (for example 1uF) and the more you will increase the treble at a low frequency (for example 10KHz). The lower the value will be (for example example 0.22uF) the more you will increase the treble at a high frequency (for example 15KHz). Try capacitors of 1.5, 1.0, 0.82, 0.68, 0.56, 0.47, 0.33, 0.22, 0.1 ... Note: to refine the value you should know the impedance (and or its curve) of the HF 8 or 16 ohm driver, or better measure the influence of the capacitor, but you can test very well by ear and choose what you like. In this second example we still have the capacitor to let energy pass up to the treble, but we want to temper its effect a bit so that the treble is less strong. In this case we put a resistance so that less treble does not pass, but always more than before. Try resistance of 8.2, 6.8, 5.6,4.9, 3.9, 3.3,2.2, 1.2, ... ohms
  22. Salut, Bravo for the progress, I think the speakers will relax over time and that in the end the sound will be excellent. Just for the test and while waiting for the end of the break-in: You can put a resistance of 1.2ohm on the + of the H cable (Medium / treble) and tell us if it's better: it's simple and there is no has no risk for the material.
