  5. Thank @Full Range Yes ! Water Babies is on my shopping list, I found the CD for sale in a store, but here there is no new LP available at the moment. I have to wait for an import or a reissue: it's going to happen one day soon, so thanks for the recommendation 👍
  6. OK, thank @Dave1291 🤣
  7. @KROCK Yes, I prefer LPs to CDs, but for records after 80' it bothers me less, for example for Tutu, Aura and all this period The Columbia CD boxes are splendid, even if they are not LPs 😉 @Dave1291 sorry but I don't understand the subtlety of the joke, don't forget that English is not my mother tongue. explain to me a bit, please 😄
  8. Hu, Thank you guys, I would like your opinion, are there any important Miles discs missing that I forgot. Here is the list of Miles' albums that I own or that are in my basket awaiting purchase, normally these are the "studio" albums, apart from a few Compilations-Anthologies, such as Bird Of the Cool, Walkin' which are 25cm compiled on 30cm LP, especially at the start of your career! In any case, the rankings vary according to the lists, for example between Discogs and Wiki. Those that I have are in grey and I have some in several versions, those in anticipation of purchase or in reflection of purchase are in blue: EDIT 01/31/2024 : in green, the new LPs I got since writing this message - 1949 Birth Of The Cool (released in 1957) - CD Capitol 1989 - LP Rumble Records 2016 - 1952-1954 Miles Davis - Volume 1 - CD Blue Note 1988 - 1953 Miles Davis - Volume 2 - CD Blue Note 1988 - 1954 Walkin' - LP reissue PanAm Records 2023 - 1954 Bags Groove (released in 1957) LP Prestige France 1983 - 1956 Cookin' - Double LP Prestige France 1972 - 1956 Relaxin' - Double LP Prestige France 1972 - 1957 Workin' - LP OJC - Prestige US 1987 - 1957 'Round About Midnight - LP color blue DOL 2015 - 1957 Miles Ahead - CD set Columbia US 1996 - 1958 Ascenseur Pour L'Échafaud (Elevator to the Gallows) - CD Fontana EU 1988 - 1958 Milestones - LP CBS France 1965 - 1958 Porgy And Bess - CD set Columbia US 1996 - 1959 Kind Of Blue - LP CBS 62066 EU 1978 - Columbia 50TH LP + CD set from 2009 - LP Columbia 2010 - CD Columbia 1997 - 1960 Sketches Of Spain - LP Columbia US 1986 - CD set Columbia US 1996 - 1961 Someday My Prince Will Come - LP MOV-Columbia 2012 - 1963 Seven Steps To Heaven - LP CBS Pressing Italy 70s? - 7 x CDR engraved box - 1963 Quiet Nights - LP Columbia US 1977 - CD set Columbia US 1996 - 1965 E.S.P. - CD box Columbia US 1998 (LP to buy!!!?) - 1967 Miles Smiles - CD box Columbia US 1998 (LP to buy!!!?) - 1967 Sorcerer - LP MOV-Columbia superb transparent green vinyl N° 00254 EU 2023 - 1968 Miles In The Sky - LP Columbia US 1977 - 1968 Nefertiti - LP CBS Original pressing France 1968 - 1968 Girls of Kilimajaro - LP MOV-Columbia 2019 - I have tracks on a Columbia Columbia US box set 1998 - 1969 In A Silent Way - LP CBS Original EU pressing 1969 - 3 x CDR engraved box set - 1970 B****** Brew - 2 x LP Columbia EU 2015 - Box Columbia US 1998 - 1971 A Tribute To Jack Johnson - LP Columbia EU 2020 - 1972 On The Corner - LP MOV Columbia EU 2012 - 6 x CDR engraved box set - 1974 Big Fun (recorded between 69 & 72) - (LP in the basket) - 1974 Get Up With It - LP MOV/Columbia EU 2016 - 1976 Water Babies - (CD or LP to buy???) - I have tracks on a Columbia US 1998 box set - 1979 Circle in the Round (Unreleased recording 1955-1970) - 2 x LP Columbia US original 1979 - 1981 The Man with the Horn - LP Sony/Columbia - Get On Down US 2022 - 1981 Star People - LP CBS original EU 1983 - 1984 Decoy - LP CBS original EU 1984 - 1985 You're Under Arrest - CD Columbia EU 1985 - 1986 Tutu - CD Warner Bros EU 1986 - 1989 Amandla - CD Warner Bross EU 1986 - 1989 Aura - CD CBS Records EU 1989 - 1991 Doo-Bop - CD Warner Bros EU 1991 Live: - 1964 "Four" & more (LP not yet found at a good price, CD in the basket: blah!!! ...) - 1964 Miles Davis in Concert, My Funny Valentine - LP CBS EU-Dutch 1985 - 1971 Live-Evil - LP MOV-Columbia EU 2016 - 1975 Agharta - LP MOV-Columbia EU 2015 - 1982 We Want Miles - Sony Music Entertainment/Columbia Records pour Get On Down US 2022 Boxes: - Miles Davis & John Coltrane – The Complete Columbia Recordings 1955-1961 - 6 x CD Columbia US 2000 - Miles Davis & Gil Evans – The Complete Columbia Studio Recordings - 6 x CD Columbia US 1996 - Miles Davis – The Complete In A Silent Way Sessions - 3 x CDR engraved box set - Miles Davis – Miles Davis Quintet 1965-'68 6 x CD Columbia US 1998 - Miles Davis – Seven Steps: The Complete Columbia Recordings Of Miles Davis 1963-1964 - 7 x CDR engraved box set - Miles Davis – The Complete B****** Brew Sessions - 4 x CD Columbia US 1996 - Miles Davis – The Complete On The Corner Sessions - 6 x CDR engraved box set So please tell me if there are typos and/or omissions, please tell me, I'll do an update
  9. Hello ! I complete my collection of Miles Davis ☺️ Here is this superb Walkin' in LP version, the music is fresh and intoxicating, I love it. This is a July 2023 PanAm Records reissue https://www.discogs.com/fr/master/123221-Miles-Davis-All-Stars-Walkin?sort=year&sort_order=desc I didn't find the PanAm Records reissue on Discogs, I think it's a repress under another label of this JWR, also from 2023 https://www.discogs.com/fr/release/27556092-Miles-Davis-All-Stars-Walkin A review: https://www.allmusic.com/album/walkin-mw0000232471
  10. So here's my second purchase of the month: Miles Davis A Tribute To Jack Johnson, it's a 2020 reissue on Columbia Records https://www.discogs.com/fr/release/15312677-Miles-Davis-A-Tribute-To-Jack-Johnson This is the version with the famous photo of Davis Gahr on the front and the illustration of Jack Johnson in a car on the back, the one that should have been released originally according to Miles Davis. https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Tribute_to_Jack_Johnson The first version released by "error" by Columbia (according to Miles): Jack Johnson (original soundtrack recording) - Miles Davis https://www.discogs.com/fr/release/1914381-Miles-Davis-Jack-Johnson-Original-Soundtrack-Recording And the second version, still in 1971, still at Columbia: Miles Davis – A Tribute To Jack Johnson https://www.discogs.com/fr/release/3339800-Miles-Davis-A-Tribute-To-Jack-Johnson If I have one regret, it's that on my 2020 version, there is no longer the text written by Miles Davis himself on the right of the photo! Front back ☺️
  11. Hi, I complete my collection of Miles: So I bought two superb albums this month! I believe that I only have 4 or 5 studio albums left to obtain from Miles Ahead (they are already in my basket: hihihi...) and I will have "almost" all of Miles For this first album, I already have the pieces of the disc on CD box sets, but not the disc itself, neither on CD nor on vinyl. For the music: it's a Miles classic, Post-Bop Quintet period "Hancock, Shorter, Carter, Williams", the disc was released in 1967. My copy is a superb reissue of MOV-Columbia in a limited and numbered edition, I have the 0254, it is a splendid green: I love it (the photo does not pay homage to it). The pressing is very successful, for me it is silent and the music is very beautiful https://www.discogs.com/fr/release/27526917-Miles-Davis-Sorcerer 😄
  12. Hey ! @Full Range, the astralians have the peach ☺️ I saw them in concert in France in those years (1992 or 1994 I don't know anymore) = FANTASTIC show
  13. when I was young I listened to a lot of Modern English 4AD records: I like an internet version during the Covid confinement, with members of Modern English: it's beautiful
  14. I've been buying records from 4AD since 1980, in recent years I've loved Mark Lanegan's
  15. Hello ! Here are videos from different artists, but they all have this fabulous drummer who puts so much groove into the music: and the songs become wonderful! He played with many, many artists: so videos, with him there are heaps: I love it. And Bruce Spingteen, Billy Joel, Melvin Gibbs, Vernon Reid, Suzanna Hoffs, David Torn, Patti Scialfa, George Clinton, Bad Brains, Bernie Worrel, TM Stevens, Khaled, Tomoyasu Hotei, Gwen Stefani... He started his career with B52's : Zack Alford from NY city He play with Bowie for 15 years This one @MicroMara will love Zack Alford is now a member of The Psychedelic Furs
  16. Hello ! @Dave1291 and everyone ☺️ This head is the Antique theater of the city of Orange, I lived 3 years next to it at the end of the 90s. There are many Roman monuments in my region, I now live further south at 30 miles In this theater there are many concerts, especially classical music and operas: the acoustics are one of the best there is. https://theatre-antique.com/ For rock, it's more often in the arenas of Nîmes, also in the region : Kiss, Placebo, Metalica, U2, Deep Purple, Artic Monkees, Elton John, ZZ Top, Pink Floyd, Status Quo, UB40, Tear For Fears, SlipKnot, Depeche Mode, Mark Knopfler, Texas, Marylin Masson, Portishead, Santana, Supertramp, Black Eyed Peas, Sting Simple Minds, RHCP, ... Ennio Morricone and many French artists: all love the sound in this ancient monument
  17. Hi ! Here is the disc that I wanted to present to you ! I bought my copy Waxtime 500 at Jazz Messengers (Barcelona Spain) by internet, but it is no longer available, I had to take the last copy available!? Regarding the cover, it is identical to the original, with all the shades of blue, and even the Blue Note! Only the photo is not compliant, I don't know why? Maybe because in the original Tina Brooks smokes a cigarette and there is a legislative problem with smoking? Copyright issues? Mystery ! On my copy Tina Brooks blows in her sax instead of the cigarette on a photo of Francis Wolff, phew the honor is safe! https://www.discogs.com/en/release/12744...-True-Blue Good news for those who would like to get this disc, a reissue is available for pre-order, scheduled for release on June 9, 2023, at Culture Factory: for them it's a Rat Pack Records disc pressed at MPO For the European's https://culturefactory.fr/nos-production...35675.html For USA : I hope the disc will be available to you after June 9, 2023 In fact I don't know if the Culture Factory reissues of Jazz are available from you in the USA, maybe a commercial agreement with Blue Note USA? https://culturefactory-usa.com/artists/#b Or the Blue Note USA reissue 2015 https://www.discogs.com/fr/release/7364751-Tina-Brooks-True-Blue Note that the original photo with the cigarette is back This disc is an album by Tina Brooks as a leader, it seems to me that it is the only one that he released under his name and during his lifetime, he is accompanied by, excuse me, Freddie Hubbard on trumpet, the fabulous Duke Jordan on the piano, the excellent Sam Jones on the double bass and finally the great Art Taylor on the drums: what a great group! This Hard Bop record is refreshing, all the tracks are compositions by Tina Brooks, except the last track on the B side (except alternative take on some reissues): Nothing Ever Changes My Love For You (M. Fisher - J. Segal ) The compositions of Tina brooks are beautiful and the solos recorded on this disc very inspired. Unfortunately Tina Brooks will no longer make a good record like this (edit: there are still excellent records by him on BN and also as a sideman, but I don't know too much, even if I see them on the net: to discover for me), because of his addiction to drugs which will prevent him from composing and playing as he should have 😒 ☺️
  18. Hi @jasonbuckeye you can watch here You can also have bought a year and the speakers were manufactured a year or 18 months before: this is my case, I bought my Cornwall III new and still factory-packaged in July 2016 from Deutschland, and yet they were manufactured in April 2015 😜 Do you have a picture of your back labels, so we can see the S/N #'s ☺️
  19. Nice Blaupunkt, there was a nice car radio with this beautiful blue dot in my father's Ford Germany Taunus 15M when I was a child, it was around 1970 and I'm in France Same, it's internet pic
  20. Nice Wheels 😍 I also had a 2000 Alfa Romeo 156 with telephone wheels, sports chassis, high-end Momo interior in Saddles leather, 3-spoke sports steering wheel, carbon insert on the center console: it is sold now ! Sorry, I don't have a better photo : No rust on mine, there it is in the rain, but for me a fairly dry Mediterranean climate with beautiful sunshine!
