  1. Hi @radiogram Thank you for sharing. I believe you reversed the Fe Core self-induction of the K33E woofer (not K28) used on CWIII. The other xdiagram found on the net gives 1.5mH in series and 0.5mH in the RLC in parallel. Your value measured on the parallel capacitor on K53Ti is also missing: 1.5µF normally for your network Here are some diagrams, the authors are CANT from the forum and others, but I don't remember their names! For me these diagrams above are all for P/N 1000472 REV A, do you confirm? There are at least two versions of the filters used in CWIII during the long years of production: first P/N 1000472 REV A and second P/N 1007712 REV A, the values are different. There may be other versions, I don't know. P/N 1000472 REV A use in CWIII, from 2006 up to 20xx ?? P/N 1007712 REV A use in my CWIII produced week 18 of 2015 In my opinion to help the members of the Community Klipsch forum, you should indicate the references of your network: 1000472 REV A for example, and the year and the date of production of your CWIII.

  4. Thank @dirtmudd Garrard 401 😍 I immediately recognized the tray stroboscopic of the 401 And then rummaging on the net I found the complete composition of his Hifi system https://www.facebook.com/1494806090596307/posts/jimi-hendrix-audio-equipment-circa-196667-in-his-london-flat-his-record-collecti/1870652716344974/ ☺️
  5. Hi @JohnJ and everybody I discover this post on the CD, I will put some specimen of my collection the next days. I have this TASCAM CD200SB pro player, with a CD-specific TEAC player base, not for computer CDroms. It has direct access to Track Select ranges and I have a small SMSL Sanskrit 6TH DAC that I bought from used $35: the sound is very good!
  6. Hi, I've little Vinyls LPs of this too : VDG The Aerosol Grey Machine & Still Life and Peter Hammill The Future now I'll have to put them on your vinyl wire ☺️
  7. Sorry guys I don't understand all your intricacies, but I appreciate the crafts of @jjptkd . I find it nice that @Chief bonehead gives his opinion on what to use as a crossover and what are the specific sound and use of its realization: for example stronger medium to put the speaker behind a screen! it's good. 👍

  9. Salut, @ GW Smith Doug Sax preferred MM cartridges, it's two preferred cartridges were the Stanton 881S and the Audiotechnica AT-ML170. Doug Sax say : “I like moving coils . . . in other people’s systems.” I think the modern cartridge that most closely resembles what he liked and the Audiotechnica VM540ML or VM740ML, you have to load them well at 100 to 200pF. Unfortunately the Stantons are no longer manufactured. You know that the ML or Stereohedron and fine line styli protect better and wear less discs like your precious Sheffield than the elliptical of your 2M blue. https://www.magneticfidelity.com/sax.shtml https://www.theabsolutesound.com/articles/two-moving-magnets-and-a-moving-iron Mines 😉

  15. Hi, I also had the Ortofon Bronze and I find what you write: lack of dynamics and soft bass. Rather than changing the phono pre I changed the cartridge: a Stanton 881S and an Audiotechnica VM740ML: finally dynamics and nice deep bass. So why not try another cartridge or the Ortofon Black stylus on your Bronze! 😉

  21. No ! For 2255 it was an example, there were many other class B at McIntosh: power advantage, low consumption and cold amp! Even their valve classics MC60, MC225, MC275 ... were class B, many of their modern ones are still with this class B their Solid State are also class B, old or modern: MC2505, 2255, 2125 .... MC7270 ... MC501 ... 😜
  22. ☺️👍 Example and Explications the MC2255 : http://www.hifi-classic.net/review/mcintosh-mc2255-284.html The output stages of the MC 2255 operate in class-B, but a unique biasing system completely eliminates the crossover distortion usually associated with class-B operation. This being the most efficient mode of linear amplifier operation, the total power consumption of the MC 2255 from the 120-volt a.c. line is only 0.7 ampere at idle (or normal playing volume) and 12 amperes at full output. The input and driver stages form a complete class-AB low-power amplifier which drives the front-panel headphone jack as well as the power stages. Switches connect the input sections for mono operation. In the mono/parallel mode the right-channel input drives both output sections in phase, and for the mono bridge mode the other input section is used as a phase inverter so that the outputs can be driven 180 degrees out of phase.
  23. McIntosh made a lot of class B amps and you can't say they're bad 😉
  24. If your amp is set for EL34, then you can put KT77 directly it's a replacement of EL34, you just need to change the 4 or 2 and do the Bias setting ! Attention KT77 has nothing to do with KT88 even if the writing is similar to KTxx look here direct replacement for EL34 = 6CA7, KT77 ... http://www.r-type.org/exhib/aaa0014.htm https://dynacotubeaudio.forumotion.com/t3289-6ca7-or-kt77 😉
