  1. A long time here 😅 https://www.discogs.com/fr/release/148901-The-Residents-Eskimo Original release, bought new by me in 1980 or 81. First pressing of 10,000 copies on white vinyl, and says "First Pressing 1979" on the lower-right side of the inside gatefold sleeve.
  2. A girl very very very cooler drummer 😍 Watch the whole video: good drummer, but not only, she plays other instruments and sings wonderfully well Poor quality sound (sorry) but drums 🧡 and very special guest 😎
  3. You know this guy is able to listen to a song once and play it again right after, well in this case it's not cool and a bit out of the game, but it's funny 😜
  4. Hi, Johnny Guitar Watson 1978 Giant 😜
  5. Hi, I have just recaptured my 1996 Cary SLI50, the chemical capacitors are about 27 years old (1995 marking) so it was time to change them: 1 x 2200µF 25v, 2 x 47µF 350V and 2 x 1200µF 450v. For the little ones I bought here in France some 105°C and for the big ones I bought from Mouser at your place in the suburbs of Dallas some superb VISHAY BC blue, to replace the old NIPPON CHEMI CON. The amp now works wonderfully, the sound is more defined, when turned on, after 3 minutes of heating, the 5U4G/5C3S rectifiers are less stressed. Room for photos
  6. Hi @GWSmith, Six eyes ? Original or Reissue ?
  7. Hi @PistolPete17 You could try @David A tweeter with SMAHL and B&C DE 120/110 😄
  8. Hi @Jazzboy If you want to say something to @ClaudeJ1 you have to do it like this, he will have a notification by the forum of your request 😉
  9. I love your vinyl @Dave1291 At home it's not vinyl, but CDs, sorry. Fortunately, this is what Impulse does (or did) best: a beautiful box set with the complete recordings of Coltrane at the Village Vanguard and beautiful images https://www.discogs.com/fr/release/1196907-Coltrane-The-Complete-1961-Village-Vanguard-Recordings
  10. Hi @captainbeefheart I am French, so I hope to explain my point of view well. We agree and yes that's exactly it, the 2.2µF will cut lower and it is possible that the listener hears more of the treble towards the crossover zone, towards 4 or 5khz, by accumulating this at the middle horn; the listener may find his speaker more "spicy" Yes, 2.2µF is almost identical to 2µF and the difference must be marginal, I just wanted to explain how to easily make a capacitor at the exact and theoretical value with 1.8µF + 0.22µf = 2µF It is good for you 👍
  11. Hi @gsgleason it's a bit late sorry, but you could do better than 3.9µF and 2.2µF. I don't know if it was explained to you, but to make a 2µF capacitor simply use a 1.8µF capacitor with a second one of 0.22µF in parallel, that will give you 2.02µF theoretically with the tolerance +/- x%. same for 4µF: use 1.8µF + 2.2µF in // => 4µF (In your case you can improve your 3.9µF by putting a 0.1µF in // for 4µF) Good job for the your news networks and yes it's normal 2.2µF will be brighter than 2µF
  12. Mine ; FLHT 2001 carburetor, sold in 2016
  13. Hi, Ask Cory @Paducah Home Theater He certainly has some info to give you https://paducahhometheater.com/
  14. Hi @MicroMara There is a great French specialist who restores and refurbishes Sansui, his reputation is very high and the packages are very solid. You may be able to contact him if you would like to purchase one of his beautiful restoration, in my opinion he will ship to Germany with no problem. It doesn't have to be in stock, but if you reserve it can give you a superb Sansui SSP that looks like new for many, many years to come. Or you send him a used Sansui bought in Germany and he reassembles it like new. https://son-passion.com/4-sansui https://www.facebook.com/son.passion/posts/1712935438870796/ https://www.homecinema-fr.com/son-passion-sansui-cest-sa-passion/5/ Hapy New Year ✌️
  15. Hi, Speaking of turntable, I had a beautiful English Linn Sondek LP12, then in 1981 I replaced it with a large turntable designed by a master of the vinyl world: Pierre Lurné (for example he made the T3 and T5 arms for Goldmund, and the famous Audioméca turntables and Lurné arms). I ran this MINIMUM Turntable for 25 years, but today, this turntable and in a cupboard in my garage, one day I would have to reassemble it and restart it after a nice restoration. This turntable was one of the first heavy turntables (around 120lb) and if you are observant you will see that many turntables from the 90s, 2000s, 2010s and 2020s are inspired by this icon. Unfortunately I don't have a photo of my MINIMUM turntable running and there is no photo on the net. I contacted Vinylengine to give them a scan of this 1980 article from the Audiophile magazine to include it in their database: the article is visible under Pierre Lurné / Audioméca Look there and tell me if you can read this article from MINIMUM http://6bm8.lab.free.fr/Documentations/Revues/Audiophile/1977-1988/18/MINIMUM/MINIMUM.html
  16. Their tangentials are so amazing, the combo with the rest of @GWsmith's B&O set would be amazing 😍
  17. Teacher of what language? I ask this out of curiosity, because one of my daughters is currently studying interpreting and translation, she is studying English and German and her mother tongue is French. Nice the Scorpions record 👍
  18. Hi, It's Montpellier in France Occitanie region for me, beautiful coincidence 😁 I have already seen many names of cities that I know while walking around with google maps and street: these virtual trips are beautiful. I know that there are many cities in your area in America which bear the names of European cities (French, Spanish, English, Irish, German ...), certainly related to the founders of these cities. Chameleons : nice
  19. And me on my garage, a model from Montpellier 🥵name Buthus occitanus, size 9cm (3" 1/2) News paper article 😆
