I have a friend I used to run hard with. I just found out he had a stroke and is in the nursing home. I guess he was found after about 40 hrs and he is really messed up. I went to see him yesterday and it about killed me. Him setting in his wheel chair staring at the floor. He would say yes or no and one time said his hand itched, but not much going on in there. He never really calmed down, and ran harder than most doing things maybe he should not have but im not judging him. He did what he wanted and I guess rode the wheels off of it. He's only 59 and has the most irish name I ever heard. Long hair and could really play the heck out of a 5 string! Say a prayer for Ernie! He's living my worst fear.

I would not think setting near a wood burner like that would help them at all. Dryer than a popcorn fart.

Still loving this machine! But I wanted to add any cons so this is my take. The only two things I can think to say is that this machine gets very hot which is good, but a lot steam comes out the vents on top and when it cools a little runs down the machine and makes a very small mess. Also when machine gets done making the coffee, you need to remove the grinds basket right away or it could drip on the machine, as the carafe will no longer fit with the pouring lid on it if the coffee basket is in place . It hasn't been an issue and I always clean the basket right away anyway. I preheat the carafe with hot water, but I don't know if you would have to, but thats when im washing my SS mug so i am using hot water anyway.I just had the first sip of the morning, and man this does do what its made to do. Make great coffee! It must be the Klipsch of coffee makers because it puts a smile on my face when I drink it. Just like Klisch speakers when I listen to them.

I received the new machine yesterday. Used it this morning and it does make a very good cup of joe. I could tell the coffee was getting much hotter than my old bunn. After the coffee was done, I looked where at the coffee sets in the filter and it looked like mud. A lot of steam was coming out the top where it is vented. The French press may be a fuzz better but not much. It even has pre infusion that soaks the coffee and then waits for a bit before it starts brewing.And no fines in the bottom like a press either. So far I’m very impressed!

The guys who replaced my dryer pipe a few years back used epoxy to put the vent cover on. It’s going to be a pain but I may need to hit it better next spring.

Thats what I meant as fair as the dryer not getting hot. I didn't explain it very well but, I meant not getting hot inside the dryer, to dry the laundry. Never noticed the outside getting hot but you said it was mainly old cheap ones.

My dryer has a alarm so I will most likely just use the blower until this doesn't clear the alarm and then replace the whole run. As long as the dryer is getting good and hot your probably ok. Its when the dryer runs cool you have too much blockage. If you listen to this and your house burns down don't sue me though! This method will either get me to the grave or put me in a early one. Max 2 how often do you do the cleaning method you said you use? I hate getting in the crawlspace anymore but I would have to get under the house to use the tool Max2 uses. My pipe is like 5 years old. I will most likely just let the hv/ac guy replace it in a few years and charge me way to much. Its still cheaper than going to the laundry.

Get your bills under control. I’ve been working on this for awhile and this is going to help for sure. I’ve made some big changes in the last 6 months. I’m not going into much on here. I plan to retire in two years and I’m changing careers after 35 years of shift work. I’m going to live frugally for the next two years and then should be able to live well for the rest of our lives. The less income you claim the lower you gov run insurance will cost. All my bills are less than a lot of people’s house payment and by doing this I’m going to be able to get cheap government run health care. I always made great money for around here and have all the crap I could ever need so I’m ready to semi retire with a less demanding job. With 2 nice pensions and a lot in my 401k I’m just going to find something that is less stressful than keeping a chemical plant running. I’m starting my hunt today. Wish me luck! PS they did away with the mandate for insurance but one bad hospital stay could ruin you.

I know there are some guys on here that are how do you say it kindly, un OLD! 🤡 Im starting to get there also, and was not happy when the low flow alarm on my dryer went off. I have about a 15 ft run all but what comes thru the floor hard piped. I thought how am I going to keep my crusty old a$$ out from under the house. Well I went to Lowes and bought a cheap black and decker electric leaf blower and you know the rest of the story. Stuck it in the flex hose, stuffed a rag around it, and turned it on. Blew that sucker out with 160 mph of wind, and problem solved. I think it was mainly just plugged where it came thru the floor. Im sure some of you may know this but for those who don't its very handy. I needed the blower for blowing the slides off on the RV anyway. Cheaper than hiring someone , and easier than getting under the house! Best 40 bucks ive spent in a long time. Peace.

Who on here has retired early and how did you find the best coverage for what you need without spending more than required. Im going to talk to someone monday but just looking for ideas and good companies to talk with.

This is a pic of my rock station as a kid. It was WJPS and it was in Evansville Indiana. I have fond memories of playing with our Aurora AFX race track, and listening to a small transistor radio, with my buds Mark and David. Later on my buddy bought a Sony AM/FM radio. We thought that radio was the so cool! This was back in the mid 70s. Both my friends have passed and this is what my station looks like.

I used to chase DX on AM and Shortwave. Also a little on TV. Not been doing much and not alot on shortwave left. I still listen at night sometimes on AM mainly. Like catching an old radio show or local DJs. Very few good one left. Always wanted a Sony 2010. Or a JRC or Drake. Had a few decent Shortwaves like Sangean 818, and a DX-398.

I just used a thermo pop that I check meat temps with. Pull the basket out a little or check the stream coming out of the basket into the pot. I don't mind spending more if its truly that much better. But online I see people leaning one way or another on these about evenly. The one thing I like better about the Bonavita is the head sprays at a wider area of coffee in the basket. This water temp, and brewing time I would think would all be important. Im just after a great cup of coffee. I also love that the Bonavita is not as tall. The way I see it if I can spend 120 with tax on the one im getting, and saving 200 bucks ,thats 20 bags of my brand coffee to put in the new machine. CECAA850 I had a bun that lasted 20 years, and was a great coffee maker. I just don't think mine got as hot as recommended. I did not check it when new. If you have a kitchen thermometer, check you water temp in the basket and see how hot it gets. Mine was only getting about 180 F. Peace!

I would think it would have to be outside with any antenna at that distance. Contracts suck!

Im sure the Technivorm is very nice, and if this one craps out in a few years that will be my next one. I like that they are made in The Netherlands . The Bonavita is made in China. Some things are made well there so we will see. I would think the Technivorm is built better. For little over a hundred bucks ithe Bonavita is worth a try from what I was reading. Peace.

I still listen to AM at night sometimes. I have a cc radio and a ge superadio.

Its done ordered. Only bad thing is its going to be 2 weeks before I get It. I use a french press most of the time but hopefully this will get me going the easy route sometimes. I saw this has a better head as far as water dispersion over the coffee over the Technivorm. We had a Bunn forever but now the wife been using a mr coffee we used for camping until we decided on a new one. The Technivorm does look pretty cool! Thanks for the reply!
