  1. No No I don't get headaches very often most of the time but thanks for the concern. I have to disagree about the headaches and speakers though. A month ago I would have agreed with you. I think the hot tone controls and the toe in as derrickdj1 above is talking about were the two problems that were causing the problems. Im listening to puddle of mudd right now and for about the last hour I can say I'm not getting the fatigue and headaches at all. I had them turned in to where they were hitting me right in the face. Lots of sparkle but hard on the ears. Facing straight out has helped a ton and only had them pointed in some because I was reading it was best with this brand. I think with the wider angle horns this will work better and the speakers have better balance with the bass and mids coming in better than before. Man I never knew listening to music could be such hard work lol! I think the slow kid in the room will be ok now. Now I understand these truly have some great bass! Thanks guys and Peace.
  2. Im still trying to get it right as far as sound goes. Running tone controls flat has helped a lot but still getting headache fatigue etc. I usually not a sissy boy and love the sound of the rp280f speakers. My question is this. Ive been running the speakers with some toe in and love how they sound that way but I think thats a lot of the problem now that I've moved them. Have a headache now so its hard to tell for sure but it seems as though the little constant ringing sound in my head has eased a lot by pointing the speakers straight out from the wall. Do most of you toe them in as I've saw talked about or straight? Sorry for all the questions but I'm really wanting to keep these without buying aspirin by the case. Having a headache by the end of every music listening session is getting old. Thanks in advance!
  3. Buy them! You could be the first. Something to tell the grandkids one day:). They do look nice. Look like micro klipschorns. Hope they sound that way.
  4. I just listen to 2 channel stereo but kick the rp280f speakers on when watching movies. I have a small sub for tv only but my tv has 16 speakers below the screen built in but its basically a soundbar. Im wondering if anyone just uses a soundbar for a center channel and if you gain that much by going with something bigger? Im off work and bored today. Not sure I'm changing anything but was wondering. Thanks!
  5. Willand I have family not far from you. a sister in lake wells and a brother around lakeland. That sounds great at +2 also. I think on the treble I will bounce between flat and +2 based on the recording and the type of music. Im off work until saturday so just drinking coffee and listening to music. Might get brave and fire up the smoker later today. Going to smoke a turkey and use just little apple wood with it. Just like tone controls turkey and chicken just need a touch of smoke. One of my short list of talents is smoking meat.
  6. I think it was operator error on the tone controls. Sounds so much better. Less is sometimes more. Those controls are like giving a machine gun to a 12 year old. A very bad idea. Thanks for the responses.
  7. http://www.klipsch.com/ces-2017 There you go! Im a mental midget lol! Feast your eyes. Thanks ceptorman!
  8. I haven't been using apple very long and don't copy and paste much. Its on this site if you can find them. I will post a pic when the wife get up. Just put in ces 2017 on the search on this site. What I mean is on klipsch.com. Not the forums. I just found it on here. Paste it if you will please
  9. Im not much at moving things around but type in( ces 2017 the 15s klipsch) on your google search. Might just make something twitch down low !! Wont be for everyone but looks like a great mix of old and new. Check them out!
  10. I turn it up some at times but I'm really not turning it up that high. For sure not like the 70s and 80s! Ive worked in a chemical plant for over 30 years. I wear hearing protection but my ears are far from perfect. I do want to save what I have.
  11. Ive been listening to a lot of music. I know the upper crust wine tasting crowd say not to move your tone controls off 0 if you have them but with the last few systems I felt I needed to pump them up a fuzz. I have slowly been moving these from like +4 on bass and +7 on treble downward. After about an hour my head starts to pound from fatigue at the higher settings. I have them set flat now and it still seems to have plenty of life and sparkle. I going to try and listen the next few days like this to see if the headaches stop. Using the 280s as I think most know. I have a few more days before I have to decide if these are for me or not but so far tonight my head feels better even though I'm very tired from getting off mids at work. Im off for the next three days so I hope to figure this out. Back to the topic. Where do you run yours and have any of you ran into this problem? Thanks in advance!
  12. I worked at radio shack in mt vernon indiana as a kid about the time this receiver was out so I think its a cool looking piece! A guy at work was cleaning and decided he didn't need it anymore. Looks great and he showed me it worked before bringing it home about june of this year. Ive did alittle reading but just wanting to know if anyone has used one and what did you think. I think it was made by foster electronics but looks like a pioneer almost. The price was right. It was free and looks need perfect.
  13. Love the pt-100. Tuner pulls in stations well and has lots of different inputs. Added Bluetooth easy. Very impressed. I've said this on other posts but will say it again. The etc-3 cd/ transport is top shelf. Very well made and sounds phenomenal! Remote is so nice and never heard cds go so low or high frequency wise.
  14. Just make sure it gets plenty of air from what I've been told. My amps on a thin sheet of wood under my tv stand on the floor so the rug does not keep air from getting in the bottom. I don't think the a-300 likes being put in a tight fitting cabinet either. What preamp are you running with it?
  15. You will love it! I just hooked up my outdoor tv antenna. Listening to the emotiva pt-100 into the a-300 and I'm really loving it! Tuner has 40 presets and it loaded 39. Has everything it needs to rock. Have the it turned up to 26 on a 0 to 100 scale and its loud enough to listen to but not scare the dog. On 50 it makes me want to quit. Guess I'm getting old lol. Tuner is kind of hard to get around on. Took me 3 days. I are not smart:} Love how it works now.
  16. I made a few vids but can't get them loaded! Im a mental midget.
  17. I can't get over the remote for it. I haven't had a ton of different gear but a good bit. This really stands out for electronics in my mind. Only thing I don't like about it is it starts playing the first track on its own. But the controls and smoothness of is very nice. But to be honest. Of all the things I've lost I miss my mind the most.
  18. I will get a pic and maybe a short video if I'm smart enough to pull it off.
  19. You are right!!!! Speakers are keepers. I wish they were wood in ways but you won't care when you hear them. I got the cherry and the finish looks plenty good to me. They don't have to be real wood to sound real good, Wow I'm a poet!
  20. Ive been running emtiva gear for two whole days. That don't mean a lot but so far very happy. Running the pt-100 into a a-300. Its the basx line and I love it! Only fault I can find is tuner is kind of different but I'm getting better. Tuning freqs is hard lol. Love the new erc-3 cd player. WOW!! Im listening to the beatles right now.
  21. But wearing headphones so I don't get my butt kicked. Loving having music and I want to tell you one thing .If your needing a cd player/transport the emotiva ers-3 is really blowing me away. Highs like I never heard out of a cd. Really help the speakers sound top notch! Shure 440 headphones if your wondering. Monday monday never sounded like this for me before.
  22. I really like one thing about the rp280f speakers . They are kind of tall but don't take up much more real estate than a bookshelf on a stand. But they sound much bigger for sure.
  23. Got it all hooked up after the preamp, amp, and cd player showed up. Ive heard about 10 songs and yes I'm smiling ear to ear. Simon and garfunkel, stevie wonder, adel, pink floyd! It sounds like what it will sound like when your walking into heaven!! Im very impressed with the whole system and thanks for putting up with me!
  24. I get over to owenboro from time to time. I like the big dipper and the wonder whip. Old school at its finest. You guys have some great bbq. I like to smoke meat and loves me some bbq!! About the only talent I think I have is smoking/grilling. If you have never tried it try daves sticky pig in madisonville. Very mean!!
