  2. Not having much luck running the numbers for an 18 inch sa madrid sub. Only found one box design I could use with my tablet and the box size seems off. If it's not to much trouble could someone run the numbers, may be winbox for me? Seems sealed would be best for this sub but I am open to suggestion. 3. Bought a 3 month old sa madrid 18 inch sub for 25 bucks off cls, according to the previous owner it has a rattle at low volume. Have not hooked up, but if I can not return, fix or get fixed locally I will just buy a new one. That should cover lfe once I get the box build and every thing sorted out, till then my old 12 inch energy sub will get me by. I want to find a k 79 tweeter and put the driver on the acadmey 76 body. The 76 seems a little shrill at times, don't know if this will help but at worst it will have better power capabilites. The horn body would go on the kp 250 Ii to get a closer match to other tweeters. I do plan on BC ti upgrade on all tweeters first then rebuild with BC xovers as time and funds permit. As for the mids I think the chorus I,s and II,s. will be far enough apart to not make a tonal difference. (ÌI,s as mains and I,s as rears about 20 ft apart) If I should find a pair of k 61 I might put them in the I,s. is this possible without making changes to the xover? I am not an expert on klipsch speakers just did some homework. Any suggestions on above, Am I going in the right direction? Thanks!
  4. Agree, I was just looking to upgrade to the best 65 my budget would allow and the Sony fit the bill. Still this is a good deal on a 55 oled with hdcp 2.2, hdmi 2.0 and good upscaler. www.abesofmaine.com
  5. In a well lite room the samsung was not as good as the oled but close, in a dark room the oled may far out perform others. This has just been my experience, when I bought my tv I was also looking for certain features. Great price on your TV, sounds like prices online might be dropping on all the 2016 tvs. Having a hard time coping url with my tablet, do a search for LG tvs. They are offering a limited time special price on there 55inch oled tvs for 1999, might be just what your looking for.. Try this www.lg.com

  7. Make sure you are looking features you like.best/better 4k upscale, both hdr. Some manufactures don't have 3d anymore if that's important to you. Vizio p series does not have a tuner to help cut costs.
  8. Bought a sony xbr65x930d a few weeks ago, was also looking at samsung 8500 series but got a better deal on the Sony. (Sony samsung had similarl picture quality) The samsung was next to an oled and picture quality was very close.. This was in a fairly well lite room, the oled may perform better in a darken room. Supposedly the backlits don't do as well in a darken room, sorry I don't have sony hooked yet so I can not say how well it performs in darken room. Should have it up in a couple days and can post how it does in if you like, let me know. Tvs I look at where the vizio p series, LG oled and the 2 above, I do like sony samsung so this did sway my buying decision. Vizio has nice features but built quality scares me, LG seems to have better build quality but just like sony samsung better. I figured without having an oled right next to the Sony I would be happy with picture quality and could not justify price difference. I and others online noticed best buy sales people tend to push sony, do your research and try not to let these sales people influence your decision. Sony is the one that has come up with most the 4k technology if that makes a difference to you, it did to me. Side viewing is better with the oled but I always sit straight in front of my tv so no big deal. Make sure you are comparing apples to oranges, only the higher end tvs have nanotechnology crystals. (each brand has its own name for this technology) This technology makes a huge difference in picture quality.
  9. 12 inch seems to be max diameter for the swivels, might be a little unsteady. Swivel centered with a caster at each corner (4 casters) for stability. (May not need the casters) Or forget the swivel and just use 4 casters one at each corner. If the 14 inch base is secured to the speaker you might be able to just put some metal/plastic on the base and slide speaker around to desired angle since you have a carpeted floor. If you check thirty shops maybe you could find a metal/plastic tray to set under base as a slider. ,

    Cheap room treatments

http://lifehacker.com/old-towels-are-the-best-material-for-cheap-diy-sound-ab-1785114646 Just do a search for diy sound deaden, lots of info for building cheap panels. Placement of panels seems to be important as well.
  11. You could attach a board to the swivel and get some of those ball type screw on coaster wheels to put on each corner. Might be able to just use the coaster wheels on each corner of a board. Do a search for casters, you will find many different wheels from home depot, Amazon, ect. Was looking for the round ball type but did not find any. I think those would work best if you could find some Did you find raising speakers to 14 iinches to give a better wider sound field ? My mids and lows are slightly below ear level , I thought about raising them just been too lazy. Thanks! .
  12. Looks good! Similar to my set up, chorus I,,s with an academy center. Kp 250,s for rear. Picked up a pair of chorus II this pass weekend for rears and the kp,s will become sides once I get a chance to set it all up. Do like the forte up high I am running mine on standard risers? Do a search for chair swivels you might be able to find something you can use to swivel the fortes.
  13. Wtb single k 79 k, if bad diaphharm ok. Let know what have, price with shipping cost to atlanta 30360. Thanks!
  14. Picked up the chorus II today, it will be a few days before I can get everything hooked up. I am switching direction of current room setup so I can get rear surrounds about 6 ft behind the sofa. Going to take everything out of the room, wirer and play with speaker location/angles. Chorus I chorus II kp 250 kp 250 II K 79 k tweeter K 79 k tweeter k 79 k tweeter k 792 k tweeter K 57 k mid k 61 k mids k 53/701 mid k 66 e 2inch Ti mid K 48 e woofer k 48 e woofer k 42 woofer k 42 epk woofer First I would like to do the crites ti on the chorus I,s tweets so they match the already upgraded II. Next (If chart is right) get the tweet on the kp 250 Ii to match the other 3 speakers, not sure what that would take. The mids I have no clue on what to do, not familiar enough with drivers to make any decisions. Need some help from the experts out there, any suggestions will be appreciated. I do plan on Bob Crites xovers upgrade down the road but I would like to get all speakers to a good tonal match first. Thanks! Doing some more research and found the academy has a k 76 tweeter. Suppose to be the same horn body and diaphragm as the k 75 and k 79 only with a smaller magnet. Another member found the 76 to be more shrill then the k 75 and 79, so do I and would like to upgrade to match the others speakers. I have put Aquarian form in the chorus I,s and the academy, helped quite a bit with the one's not so much with academy. .
  15. I have a non working sw12, developed a hum I try to fix and we'll that was the end of the sub amp. I am currently run a 12inch energy sub I picked up at goodwill cheap. I believe the chorus II have a better mid than chorus I, kp250 II has a better tweeter than the 250. Was wondering if it would be better to sell/trade the mids from chorus I to match the ones in the II or just put new diaphragms in them. Would it be better to match one of the kps to the other/trade one of the kps to match the other. I do plan on rebuilting xovers over time. I know some you guys know the heritage line. Was hoping to get pointed in the right direction so I do not get a tonal mismatch as I upgrade the speakers. N
  16. Chorus I front mains, kp 250 (one) kp 250 II (one) side speakers, ss1 rear speakers, academy center. ( Yes Kp 250s are a mixed pair). Just picked up a pair of chorus II with crites tweeter ti upgrades for mains, kps to remain side speakers and chorus I to be used as rear surround, academy to remain as center. I would like to upgrade/trade to get a better tonal mix of above speakers. 7.1 used mostly for HT Need suggestions on however to achieve a better tonal mix for 7.1. Not in a hurry to accomplish but would like ideas on what look or which upgrades would be best, thanks.
  17. Was hoping I would not have go the route but might have to. Any info on the drivers would be nice if possible, man. driver specs especially for the 5.25 mid range. Thanks
  18. Recently bought a pair of klipsch sp 1 with blown tweeters. Looking for any info on drivers and crossovers so I can maybe upgrade a little. Only info I have found is from owners manual, crossover points at 125 &2300hz. Crossover diagram be nice but any other info be appreciated, thanks.
