  1. Active with DC-ONE I'm big into electronics, so use with PC/USB is the route I would go for sure. Hopefully will make calibrating much easier, thanks for sharing! Had a lot of Klipsch - Rf82's were sold then to RF7II, still a huge leap though! Chris is spot on and quoting me from earlier. I did a ton of research prior to even creating an account here. (Read for many years and always got my answer so I didn't need to post). Were talking about days not hours of google "quote" searches, chasing avatars since people are active here, avsforum and a few other sites.. I did not solely read on Klipsch speakers alone and considered other options. With the price tag at this point, I wouldn't imagine not doing your due diligence. Everyone like to save money, however I began as a nickel and dimer. I will use my in and over ear audio as an example. I cant remember how much I spent on earbuds and cans before I finally said this isn't working. I spent a month or so researching and ended up with Unique Melody 4 driver In Ear Monitors. (This was 10 years ago). They were amazing for their time as IEMS (In ear monitors) really weren't going headfi route just yet. The company was known for perfection and I believe the first to do molds that didn't have bubbles in their molds. I decided to go with them. Next part was finding an audiologist to get impressions. Finding one that even had done a pair at that time was non existent. Got that all done then waited a month for them to come back and receive the finished product. (In blue below) With IEMS the tight ear seal allowed me keep the volume lower, hear more separation of instruments. The bonus is I could use them while out on the motorcycle, flights, gym, running, snowboarding, work and just out and about. They had replacement cables for maybe $20.00 each. (which last me about 6-12 months) Now I still have my first ones and I use them for lawn mowing or dirty jobs. I paid roughly $400 for them, but I was spending easily $75.00-$150 a year on earbuds that didnt have replacement cords, didnt sound as good and were throw away items. Yes, I even had a pair of klipsch earbuds from way back. Doing the math, you can quickly see how they in a way paid themselves forward. As time passed, IEMS really changed dramatically. They started becoming much more centered around headfi. I also was at a new job doing a lot of design work. My old IEMS worked, but as you know mens noses and ears grow (part of my research), so they didnt seal as tight and sometimes had leaking. I could hear conversations, gossip, laughter etc. If I knew what I do now about molds, they probably would have been a tigher seal, but that's part of the journey as you learn and go. So with needing to concentrate, I was in one of those big companies that took away everyone's offices, cubes and general privacy. Combine that with being a bit of an introvert, my job (when I had an office) soon became my place of hate. I wanted IEMs that would hopefully last me another 10 years, possibly more. So the journey began again. I read about Jerry Harvey where IEMS really began, all of his products the sound.(Almost got the roxanne) UE, Wesone, Shure you name it. I went to some local meets to test out some universals (ones that are not custom fit to your ear canal). Still nothing that really wowed me. I knew the sound I wanted. I started reading about this guy known as the Wizard. A Dr, that was unbelievably passionate about audio. Read his background and chased his knowledge much like I did for Jubilees. (Case you want to know http://www.head-fi.org/t/684787/noble-audio-the-wizard-returns I had read all of this at the time and try to keep up, its around 1500 pages) I knew the sound I wanted and again reached out to others, looked at eq's. The company strives for absolute perfection and everything I read was exactly what described my type of sound. Warm, bold, lush mids, smooth smooth smooth highs, with high detail and bass right were you need it, not boomy, not overprounced just perfect. (Sounds a lot like klipsh? eh?) I was even fortunate enough to have several exchanges with the man himself. I ordered the pair for roughly $1600. (They are my avatar picture and picture below.) I picked Ambona Burl faceplate with goldleaf noble symbol for the faceplates. Yes thats real wood and real gold. They were exactly as others described when they arrived. The seals were perfect, the sound was as I stated earlier. I bought them before they went mainstream, they have since been in countless magazines and reviewed as the best countless and countless times again. {I'm in no way promoting Noble over Klipsch as they do compete on some platforms, just sharing my own personal thoughts. } My research paid off with the Kaisers, I'm not sure if it was entirely a leap of faith since I had bought sight unseen, but knowing how others interpret and explain sound and how they apply their knowledge helps narrow down the decisions. One persons perfection maybe another persons nemesis. I used a lot of how I researched everything previously and applied here. There is also a lot of long reads in my private messages from other Jubilee owners that isn't here that is worth its weight in gold, helping along in my OCD of reading. Sorry for the book above, but hopeful it may help someone else in their decisions. It always has paid off for me and I'm sure it will the same for Jubilees. I still have a ton to learn about loudspeakers, but do have quite a bit of knowledge with IEM's. Not to detract from this thread further, but anyone is always welcome to PM me about IEM's, DAC's and amps for them. I actually plan on using one of my can DACs in the implementation with this system.
  2. Too many pics to Quote Coyotee, Thank you for sharing! I never knew thats how they came, for their size I actually would have thought they would have been on a pallett with straps. Glad to see they do that type of packaging. I will be keeping my boxes, they will make a nice shelter if my wife ever decides to throw me out.
  3. I can't wait. I may start french braiding my cables to pass the time. The ordering process was easier than giving your account info to claim your Nigerian Prince lost funds. Not a lot of options, so you can choose quite easily. Will for sure share once I get them and operating. If anything, I'm hopeful someone has learned something new in this thread or it could be a source to help others with decisions.
  4. Today is a really, really good day. I placed the order for the Jubilees. I also received my DC-One in the mail. I'm sure I will have more questions down the line. I want to say thank you for everyone's contribution thus far and those as well answering in PM's. You know who you are. I cannot begin to say how appreciative I am of your efforts.
  5. Does the Jube still use the k31-e?
  6. Thanks guys, appreciate all the info and patience for my lack of knowledge. Looks like I will spend less on an amp than I planned! I think now it's just deciding on the pre pro.
  7. Thank you very much for clarifying and thank you for the recommendation. Was not aware of these, I may just save a little money! Have you ever felt these were underpowered driving the bass bin?
  8. Just to clarify, since I'm not experienced. One D-75A can amp the 2" compresson driver and the bass bin? Sorry I'm not familiar with what channel strapping is. When are using the jubes that are powered with the D-75A, did you feel the volume was tapped out or could these amps theoretically shake the ceiling using it in the above scenario if you wanted to without maxing it?
  9. With the D-75A, is one powerful enough to power one Jubilee or one per driver/woofer? I'm going off of the 535-B spec sheet from the klipsch website. I don't plan to peel the paint off the walls with them, but sometimes I do listen a bit on the loud side. Horn says 225 LF 400. If bi amped would the bass bin be gimped or be maxing out the amp?
  10. Thank you again Chris ^^ Trying to pin down the remainder of the items I would need/pair. Will hopefully help me finalize the final tally. I was able to acquire a new DC-One over xmas for a great price, if I don’t get jubilees, I can always resell. So active route it is! For Pre/Pro – I know there’s no such thing as future proof, but in keeping the family happy with being able to play movies in 4k with the new lovely hdcp 2.2 req. I will need a receiver that is up to the task. I’ve had great luck with Yamaha’s in the past, however this time I’m learning towards Marantz. (price being one). Since feedback or hissing is something that drives me nuts, I’m taking the advice to ensure the receiver has balanced outs. So far it’s between the Marantz 7702mkii (or 7703), Yamaha CX-A5100 and lastly, if for a great price the Emotiva XMC-1. I will only be using the above for 2 channel. I don’t care about many of the features they have since I play my music through a laptop. The DAC will be a big component to this. No other speakers will be added to the receiver. Since I will also be needing amps, I would love to hear opinions on what to go with and/or match with the prepro. Since many Jube owners have contributed, still looking to everyone for guidance. Unfortunately with the price of everything I will have at max $1000 for a pair of amps. I would love to have MC-2105/MC-250, but for now I will take what I can afford and build later. Maybe I can convince the wife to buy me a tube pre-amp for the birthday. Edit - Hoping amp can also have balanced connections, with gain controls. Thanks again for everyone's contribution.
  11. Thanks for clarifying. Is the noise an issue with the Jubilees being very sensitive? If there is feedback, would you be able to correct with gain on the amp then? Thankful the cable runs would be very short (1ft or less). For the HT application the issue is with the HDCP 2.2/HDMI 2.0. I could get a amp from 2015 for 1/4 the price that has XLR. I was thinking of maybe using a switcher that would work for HDMI. With the new copyright issues on HDCP I'm unsure if I could get a quality receiver for under $2000 that has XLR with the current HDMI standards, though I can find a few that have RCA similar to the emotiva. The main question would be do you feel its worth the extra $1300 for balanced outputs? (Sorry I know the above question may not entirely below in 2 channel since it includes HT info, but will hopefully help others). Thanks again,
  12. Any chance you have one with the B&C for comparison?
  13. I’m starting to look at Pre-Amps that will be able to fulfill the Home Theater and Music Needs. At this point, I’m fairly confident I would go with an active setup. The issue at hand is that they all have XLR-Balanced connections. I have many options for preamps, however wondering if I should find something that has balanced connections that will make it easy for the crossover and amp selection. (Planning on choosing amps with XLR/balanced in & out {still undecided what amps though}) I do have a budget, so bearing in mind I’ve been pricing AV processors, which more often than not are more expensive than receivers with amps. An example (may not go with this company, but using it as it can relate) would be to go with emotiva MC-700. ($600) It has everything I will need, DAC, HDMI 2.0 with HDCP 2.2. Allows me to grab a tube amp for music in the future and pair nicely with a pair of amps for the Jubilees. Unfortunately, it only has RCA out and no balanced. Then theres the XMC-1. ($2000) It comes with everything the MC-700 has, but also has balanced out, many more options, but most will not need. Still would plan to use separate amps in pairing. Is balanced necessary or worth the cost? Just using emotiva as an example, may go with a different brand for receiver. The question would be is balanced needed in this scenario? I do plan on some day adding a center channel, however will probably be many more years down the road. Thanks,
  14. Thank you Chris, This is very helpful on many levels.
  15. Mark, Thank you for the long post on the drivers and getting the klipsch sound. A very insightful read. I really do appreciate it.
  16. Certainly will do that. I had one with my past receiver and it just performed everything on its own. Obviously with crossover it would require the more manual method. Thank you. Good to know, TY! Oh she won't change her mind. Just in control of the checkbook. I have my budget, which she is contributing to. I'd prefer to be able to power the Jubes with something other than a Pyle receiver. If I can swing it, I will be doing my best to make it happen. Taxes on them is what is hurting at the moment. I've looked a few times this past week, but unfortunately there's only one pair of the diaphragms for around 2k. I'm on the fence since if I knowingly could get them for nearing that price, I would probably opt for the K69A and later replace. However, if they are still as hard to find as they have been and at the very high price I'm leaning the B&C. Do you by any chance have the ebayer still? Thought to reach out, never know.
  17. Roy developed Active settings for both the K69A and the TAD 4002. Are there settings for the B&C out there or if I went with that option, would I be on my own?
  18. Since they are obtainable, maybe these could be replacement in the future if the B&C are not to my liking. Indeed they are. These are when I first got my RF-82s and had much to learn (still do). My RF7's were in the corners. I non longer live in that house and moved so the corners are different, thankfully about 5 feet wider. Jubes would go all the way into the corners for sure! Saw some interesting concepts of what people do with the 402. I think this would still put me in the "what if I had, I wish I should of" category. Thanks for sharing! Hi Mark, Do you mind sharing what you use on your 402s?
  19. Thank you Chris! Im in my early 30's and still can hear the upper limits of 20Khz The less fatigue while listening the better, and (assuming) from the breakup mode you explained these will solve that. Thats 2 for the B&C! Would love TAD 4002 with BE diaphrams. Sadly they are out of my price range. Maybe when budget is open again these could be considered.
  20. Chris, Do you know the differences between the B&C75DE and the K69A? When pricing the B&C is more expensive. Ive seen posts that the B&C is better, however nobody has gone into detail as to such. Is it cleaner, clearer, less ringing etc. Is it 5, 10, 15% better, while this may be opinionated just be good to hear. Thanks
