Big 10 Lies of Audio that refuse to die
Tony Whitlow replied to ClaudeJ1's topic in 2-Channel Home Audio
You are for sure clueless if you think a record sounds better than a CD. Playing a record is dragging a rock through mud to reproduce music. PWK himself said a record is a caricature of music. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Big 10 Lies of Audio that refuse to die

Great read. I’ve been saying these facts for over thirty years. The only reason people like tubes over solid state is tubes clip more gently. Plain ordinary 18 ga. Zip cord is all you need unless you have long runs. Digital leaves analog noise in the dust. Thanks for posting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
OK, it’s not a decorator. So, is it a raw birch on a riser with a cane grill? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That’s a decorator Heresy Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The Heresy was designed as a center speaker in a three speaker stereo array. This was decades before the multi channel movie audio. Later came the Cornwall for the center. I would definitely use a LaScala for the center. Any Heritage speaker is fine for surrounds. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have 79s and 83s Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I sold a pair of LaScalas to get the second pair of Heresys. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My room is 19’ X 25’. Heresys are more than sufficient. I have used a pair for a PA for a small country/rock band. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Heresys are fine speakers. Any quality amplification will do. They are amazingly efficient. I have four in my home theater. Some people complain about bass response. 50 hz is adequate for most recorded music but you may want to add a sub. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

100 watts continuous 500 watts peak. They are deafening at 20 watts. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I can’t speak for I Pad, but I have a fairly extensive library on my I Phone. Thoroughly satisfied. I don’t know what a Bluesound Node2i is. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

How much do you want to spend and how much bass do you want? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

All this streaming probably use CDs as a source. How can they claim they are better than CD? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I totally agree. I just simply can’t afford for my wife and me to go to a live show. I’ll get the Blu Ray and enjoy it for years. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

They have a rear port also, hence the extra height Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have three pair. The LaScalas were just too much for my room which is 19’ X 25’ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I sold my ‘74 LaScalas yesterday. I inherited Heresys. I have ‘78 Heresys that I’m using for surrounds. The Heresys sound more atmospheric where as the LaScalas sounded in my face. I am TOTALLY happy with my choice. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Get them on the floor. Being off the floor destroys the bottom octave and deteriorates the next two. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanx Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Can anybody give me the dimensions for Heresy slant risers? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Difference in recordings. Some engineers are just better than others. Everybody is not a George Matin or Alan Psrsons Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I use Heresys with my LaScalas. I have them sitting on top of bar stools, perfect height for surround. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I don’t even know what Audyssey is. I use the pink noise generator in my receiver and an analog SPL meter. I love how it sounds. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

No. They are not recommended or required. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sounds like cataracts. I had the same night blindness you speak of. Had cataract procedure done and those night blindness issues disappeared. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
