  2. I thought current owners of k-horns, who have experience with those speakers, may have some recommendations as to which amp type or make may mate better with the k-horns, so I can setup my system. I totally understand at the end it is my ears, my preferences, etc.. So far some helpful advise and some answers make me wish I never asked the question. I will try one by one, as suggested, and will decide which sounds better to my ears and in my setup Ty all for all the advise. appreciate it.

The average family of four household income varies by regions in the US, 45 k-75 k ( as of 2016). Accounting for taxes, and after all monthly expenditures, they have only their retirement, hopefully funding it monthly, to fall back on, and hardly anything left in terms of savings. so yes, sadly, paycheck to paycheck applies to a majority of households in this country. Sad but true. Life has become more expensive over the decades, mainly b/c of new technologies we can not live w/o ( or so we think). Very few people are financially responsible enough to save, beyond their monthly retirement pre tax retirement accounts saving. The mentality has changed, more slogans like "YOLO" make people " live the moment", and don't think of saving their pennies for a rainy day. Hope this situation, as sad as it is, will impact people's financial future behavior and planning. Thoughts and prayers to those workers affected by this crisis.
  4. Thanks y' all . It seems I can narrow it to three so far : the Cary, or the PL, or the Mc. No love for the Yamaha a-s1100 ?
  5. I am the blessed new owner of a brand new pair of Klipschorns 70th Anniversary edition, that arrived today on crates and still in boxes. https://www.klipsch.com/products/klipschorn-70th-anniversary-edition I have the perfect room for them, with matching corners, room is an open living/kitchen with about 30#15#12 foot ceilings. I have few amps, some SS some Tubes, and have no previous experience with the K-horns, I am hoping you can please help me choose the one that would best match with them, I own a few amp, here's a list. 1- Cary Audio CAD-120 MKII ( with the SL-100 pre and Dac 200 from Cary Audio) 2-Prima Luna dialogue HP. original tubes. 3-Yamaha A-S1100 4- Pair of Emotiva XPA-1 Gen 2. 5- Musical Paradise MP-501 V5 with KT-150's ( or the kt-120's) 6- Onkyo M-504. 7- Yamaha A-S2000 8- Yaquin amps, with KT-34's, or KT-88's, Bewitched Amp with 6550's tubes. 9- Onkyo 9150, and 9050, and NAD C316BEE V2 10- McIntosh MA5300 Integrated Amp. 6. I have been using the Musical Paradise MP-701 with excellent results. I changed all tubes to the G/L, and the sound is amazing. http://www.musicalparadise.ca/store/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=81
  7. Change to G/L straight, don't look back. And while u're at it change the pre tubes too.
  8. Those speakers are really easy to drive. Any modest receiver would do well. I 'd suggest any Yamaha RX- A series avantage, and you should be all set. the power indicator ifs for peak and max handling. the rb's like all Klipsch are super sensitive and don't need many watts to drive them well. good luck .
  9. looking for a nice pair, in West Texas. pm me if you have one you would like to part with. ty
  10. Do some tube rolling, get rid of those chines pre amps ones, use gold lions re issues, and you'll be even more rewarded. I did on mine, tried it with my LS-II's and yielded excellent results.
  11. I use a Klipsch Reference R-115SW with my La scala's II, and they blend nicely, in a medium sized room.
  12. Got mine today, white glove service,..! Speakers removed from wooden palette, and placed in garage, gently. Not consecutive numbers, but very close: 61/62 & 65/66
  13. The boxes don't look in top notch shape,...I hope the speakers are fine. the dust indicates they were sitting for a ' long while" somewhere dusty, really dusty.... Good Luck, I Hope mine will be in good shape when they come in .., fingers crossed
  14. Ironman, get separate pre amp with all the digital inputs, bell's and wifi/bluetooth whistles you want/need, then use the tube amp/integrated amp, behind it. Your ears will thank you later. It has been my experience with all Heritage Klipsch speakers that tubes, is the best way to go, seems to me this line was made for tubes. I also use a Cary Audio CAD-120s MK II tube amp with my La Scala II's, and to my ears: It sounds so much better then many high end SS amplifiers, costing 1 to 5 k, I have tried, although it is rated at lower wpc. I also use the Cary Audio DAC and Pre-Amp. (DAC 200ts & SL-100) in the same setting.
  15. I drive my Heresy's III with an integrated MP-501 MK-V Tube amp ( kt-120's, 55wpc) and their is NO substitute to that beautiful silky sound of tubes with all heritage Klipsch speakers. .... I have tried many excellent SS amps, 100-300 wps, and that sound was never the same. Go tube ironman !
  16. I guess I am just crossing my fingers, but will make some follow up calls to them.
  17. through adorama credit card, called them, and they have a special, if purchase is above 2500, it default to this special promotion. ask for many n.
  18. With 48 months no interest payments currently, using the Adorama credit card, it was a NO BRAINER, so the order was placed. Now, the waiting game , delivery in 7-10 days. I have already a pair that I bought new last year, and it is the best speakers I have ever heard or owned. I just could not pass this offer. they cost less then the regular series La Scala's II. as for the consecutive numbers, I will have to do some follow up with them .
