Erm why can't you just try them all and get your own opinion?.. Your ears are the best advisers you can get...

I thought current owners of k-horns, who have experience with those speakers, may have some recommendations as to which amp type or make may mate better with the k-horns, so I can setup my system.

I totally understand at the end it is my ears, my preferences, etc..

So far some helpful advise and some answers make me wish I never asked the question.

I will try one by one, as suggested,  and will decide which sounds better to my ears and in my setup

Ty all for all the advise. appreciate it.

  2. The average family of four household income varies by regions in the US, 45 k-75 k ( as of 2016).

Accounting for taxes, and after all monthly expenditures, they have only their retirement, hopefully funding it monthly, to fall back on, and hardly anything left in terms of savings. so yes, sadly,  paycheck to paycheck applies to a majority of households in this country.

    Sad but true.

Life has become more expensive over the decades, mainly b/c of new technologies we can not live w/o ( or so we think). Very few people are financially responsible enough to save, beyond their monthly retirement pre tax retirement accounts saving.

The mentality has changed, more slogans like "YOLO"  make people " live the moment", and don't think of saving their pennies for a rainy day.

Hope this situation, as sad as it is, will impact people's financial future behavior and planning.

Thoughts and prayers to those workers  affected by this crisis.

  4. Those speakers are really easy to drive. Any modest receiver would do well. I 'd suggest any Yamaha RX- A series avantage, and you should be all set.  the power indicator ifs for peak and max handling.  the rb's like all Klipsch  are super sensitive and don't need many watts to drive them well.  good luck .

I probably won't get to the opening until the weekend. I also want to open them up (the top hat) and take a close look at the crossover and compare them.

The boxes don't look in top notch shape,...I hope the speakers are fine.  the dust indicates they were sitting for a ' long while" somewhere dusty, really dusty.... Good Luck, I Hope mine will be in good shape when they come in .., fingers crossed

I would, except that I really want the ability to play music from iTunes, and the C368 has optical inputs, built in Bluetooth and the ability to add wifi connectivity.  Maybe at some point I can use the preouts on the C368 to add a tube amp to drive my Heresy's.

Ironman, get separate pre amp with all the digital inputs, bell's and wifi/bluetooth whistles you want/need, then use the tube amp/integrated amp, behind it. Your ears will thank you later.

It has been my experience with all Heritage Klipsch speakers that tubes, is the best way to go, seems to me this line was made for tubes.

I also use a Cary Audio CAD-120s MK II tube amp with my La Scala II's, and to my ears: It sounds so much better then many high end SS amplifiers, costing 1 to 5 k, I have tried, although it is rated at lower wpc. I also use the Cary Audio DAC and Pre-Amp. (DAC 200ts & SL-100) in the same setting.

  7. I drive my Heresy's III with an integrated  MP-501 MK-V Tube amp ( kt-120's, 55wpc) and their is NO substitute to that beautiful silky sound of tubes with all heritage Klipsch speakers. ....

I have tried many excellent SS amps, 100-300 wps, and that sound was never the same.

    Go tube ironman !

do it! you know you want to?  that's an amazing price for a pair of limited editions

With 48 months no interest payments currently, using the Adorama credit card, it was a NO BRAINER, so the order was placed. Now, the waiting game , delivery in 7-10 days. I have already a pair that I  bought new last year, and it is the best speakers I have ever heard or owned. I just could not pass this offer. they cost less then the regular series La Scala's II.

as for the consecutive numbers, I will have to do some follow up with them .
