  1. Im interested as well as my 300b Monoblocks buzz a bit as well.
  2. When its in Pure Direct Mode it shut everything down? Interesting. From what I understood Pure Direct mode is no processing and just playing what it gets whether its 7.2 or 2.0. No Video either?
  3. From what I understand your AVR should be ok, but I could be completely wrong on that. For windows 10 go 24bit 192 kHz. Larger file and most stuff will likely be (upscaled) but if you ever do come to something with that large of a file you will have access to it entirely. Everything should be set to small. That crosses over the lower frequencies to the subwoofer around 80hz usually. Personally with what to send to you AVR I like either Uncompressed HDMI or Analog thats been decoded at the source. Optical/Toslink/SPDIF all are compressed signals. Your receiver should have a pure direct mode. That will give you the "cleanest" "unaltered" quality of your source. Using DD or DTS when its not that track type just adds more processing to your file. Kinda like upscaling SD to HD video from my understanding. Its supposed to work but never really does that great compared to a true HD file. Hopefully that helps. Others here know much more than me. I found that google and simple searches are my best friends.
  4. ONCE AGAIN! I guess I should of waited on pulling the trigger a little more. A few months ago purchased a set of LS 1s. Oh well. Good luck with your sale!
  5. Light water stains... I dont know about you but it looks worse than light
  6. Hey JF, this still available? Can you post more photos ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Thanks Nola, driving out to Pittsburg in the next week or so to pick up a pair in my 4Runner. Hopefully its not too too bad getting them in and out of the back. The worst part is going to be the 2 flights of stairs. From what my understanding is of what your saying bring lots of towels blankets pillows and sheets to wrap our babies up nice and cozy for the drive home
  8. Im in Harrisburg. What are you looking to get out of your K-Horns? Making a trip up there soon to grab LaScalas. They are beautiful man.
  9. First two pics are in! Getting excited. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Thanks so much everyone! Really appreciate it. Glad its almost PayDay!
  11. AAs and my soon to be father in law wants to rebuild them with me! So no need to worry about them right now. He's the one who got me into Klipsch and music in general! Thought it be a fun experience.
  12. Hey Jim, They are currently out in Pittsburgh PA getting re-veneered. He called me and said they were dead, then sent me a pic of what looked like (to me ) a tweeter assembly reading 4 ohms. Then when I asked he said they were spares of different speakers he had around his house. Sorry for the misunderstanding! So the consensus is to just drop it and buy new tweeters, Ill be honest I was kinda looking to upgrade but was told to listen and wait and see if you like the originals first. Oh Well
  13. Hello everyone! I just recently purchased a pair of LaScalas and it ends up as my guy was going through them to veneer them he found out that not one, but both tweeters were dead! Weird huh? He's going through and testing them now. He says there is no continuity for the tweeters and reading 0 ohms on the meter. He said that the square magnet tweeters are "valuable" and says that its not hard to put a new diaphragm in them if thats what would fix them. Ill be honest and say I only kinda understand how speakers work and have no idea what this all means :(. What would you recommend doing? I personally would rather just replace them since that just seems easier at this point. I don't really want to bother the seller with it since its been past 30 days and its my fault for not having the guy hook them up before hand. What do you guys recommend? Would anyone be interested in the square magnet assemblies? If this is not the right place please feel free to move it! Thanks, Graham
  14. Hey 6 bays is great! It will allow you to upgrade storage in the long run as long as the enclosure doesn't fail. But then you just get into backup redundancy and talk about expensive for absolutely nothing.... You have the original, a copy of it, the raid. No need if its all personal to have another backup of a backup! I know you said something about not wanting external access so make sure to turn off the cloud function when you get home! Good luck, hope it all works out for you, and that all is well!
  15. I would go Raid 5 (safest and fastest of the raid configurations). Thats what I use at work (media manager) with over 30TB of data collected over the last 3 years. Had one drive fail on me and was happy to have it. For Raid 5 though you need at least 3 drives. Depending on what you want to do with it and a budget will help decide on what type of raid you want/need. Think about everything you could possibly want to do with it and then add another disk space lol. It adds up quick. Good luck with your search.
  16. Now this is not my forte (haha), but I believe you can set it up to only be accessible over a hardwired (LAN) connection (less convenient but more secure). Depending on what you get (I recommend a RAID) your hard drives most likely will NOT be plug and play and will have to copy over manually.
  17. Thanks ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I guess my question is, you have two fabrics in the picture that looks loose. Are they the 9000 and 2000 option ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Hey Otis so the question is, is that factory 70th grill fabric ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Nice. Will be ordering to finish my LaScalas soon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I'll start the bidding at one dollar! And free shipping. Seriously though, good luck with your sale! Once again all the deals show up after I commit to something else ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I wish I could! I have embarked on a LaScala restoration in RoseWood as well, and it was hard enough to talk the fiancé into those. I hope they turn out half as good as these look! So please don't hold anything on account of me! And please, it's Graham. Mr Innocent George is my Father ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I have not done a lot of shipping, but DONT go through UPS or FedEx! There are plenty of freight companies out there that will take care of them for you. I had a pair of LaScalas shipped recently. They came and picked them up out of the guys house, crated and shipped and white glove delivered from Missouri to PA for not to much. I believe it was around $400. Now thats white glove service and up a flight of stairs. Its cheaper than you might think. Call around when it gets to that point, OR make the buyer deal with the headache!
  24. Those are beautiful! Good luck with your sale. I will gladly take them off your hands! Usually location plays into price point as well. Welcome to the forum!
