For anybody interested, AV Therapy in Nashua New Hampshire still has them set up downstairs until they have a chance to ship them next week.

Well, now that I have had a chance to really listen to the Heresys, I really like them. Not as much bass as my AR3as, but they are much "faster" sounding and revealing.
Glad I impulsively bought them.

The mids are a bit too strong for my ears, and I have modded the crossovers so the mids are -3db below stock. Bass is not an issue as I have them corner loaded.
Just the way my ears are I guess.

Well, I am going to revive this thread because, well, it it mine and I can.
I purchased a pair today for a screaming deal. Early testing results: I think I like them better than my La Scalas...

I no longer have the Cornwalls (which I loved) to compare them to.
I'll post real listening results once they are properly installed.

OK, Cornwalls here. They are v1 cabs with v2 drivers (original, not modified). Klipsch did this before the v2s came out for a year or so. Consecutive serial numbers.
Functionally they are a 10/10. Cabs are a 9/10. Cane grilles, oiled walnut cabs. I am at least the third to own these. They were rough when I received them. I washed the grilles (about 10 times) to get the dirt and nicotine out (no, they do not smell) and redid the cabs redoing the veneer (all front edges were redone, other small patches filled in, see picts), sanding them bare and reoiling (no stain). Grilles had screws in them at some point. I put screws back in to cover the holes using brass screws so they do not stand out. Correct badges are there on both.
They sound great!

I actually have experimented with setting my Cornwalls and La Scalas at 45 degrees - right in a corner. I like it very much this way as it tends to even out the channels and reduce the mids of the LS quite a bit. I read a white paper on it and decided to give it a try.

Well, mine is a Boston PV-400 I bought in 2001 and it is still going strong.

The AR-2 series has a complicated history.
If they are labelled AR-2xa, I would say that they were originally AR-2x that were upgraded to ax standards via the factory kit.

Well, if the driver is installed over the padding (rather than being attached to the back of the motor board), it should be OK. I'd keep the padding shallow too.

They were there for the demonstration event, and have been left there for a week or so as a courtesy to the store. Seems the store is to ship them back, but no rush.
