  1. I saw photos where the TV was on the center. I wonder how much weight it can take, because I have an older plasma TV which is heavy and I would like to put on top of the center if that is not going to cause any trouble to it.
  2. I just got an R-112SW too and I noticed how easy to plug the power cable in and also how easy to pull it off. I have not noticed the issue the OP had yet though.
  3. I have been buying Klipsch speakers in the last couple of years and I almost have my 5.1 setup with them. This year brought two of them actually. I shared my adventure with the center earlier about how I bought a new one and got a fairly used one instead which forced me to send it back and buy another one abroad. This week I bought an R-112SW which I got yesterday. It might sound impossible (I certainly did not expect that), but it happened again. I bought a new sub-woofer and got an used one. Even though I asked the store specifically when I bought it, to double check and make sure the sub is completely new and unopened. And they said they checked... This is another store, not the one I tried to buy the center last time. The box and packaging all looked new, but after I opened there were certain signs that proves it was used before. Luckily this time there were another sub and they have already sent the replacement (arriving in few hours). I also like to note this time I do not need to pay to return the speaker like I had to with the other store, so overall my experience is much better than with the other store. But I did not open this topic to talk about my latest purchase in detail, I created this topic to ask you about your experience buying new things online. How often happens to you that you get a used one instead a completely new? It only happened with me when I was buying Klipsch speakers which I do not understand how that could happen at all. The stores should know if they send out products in not perfect conditions the buyer surely will send it back.
  4. I have received my money back today. They got the speaker on Monday, so I think that was very quick payment from them. Happy ending! 🙂 Thanks everyone!
  5. @wvu80 Thank you. Their speaker is on it's way to them, so I have not got my money back yet which will be the real happy end of the story. Hopefully there will not be any issue. The new RP-450C is indeed awesome. For the record these are my most expensive speakers I have ever had. I never had such a high quality speakers before and I do not think I will need anything else. It took few years to collect the 5 pieces and now that I have them I'm very happy.
  6. Yes, I just need to find a bigger TV standing or cabinet now 😉
  7. My story finally has a happy end, because I have received a perfectly new RP-450C in a factory sealed box from trinasty.sk. Though I only had the RP-250C for about 2 weeks, I do notice how the RP-450C sounds even better.
  8. My case is hopefully going to be solved soon. The shop I bought could not offer any other option except the cancellation of the deal, so I will need to send it back and I will have a full refund. I found another shop in Slovakia and they have both RP-250C and RP-450C in cherry. Actually they only have one piece of each. I decided to buy the RP-450C. Their price is lower than the price of the store here in Hungary, but that does not matter since they do not have any here... I figured if I buy the last cherry, I should buy the best. I made sure they double check the boxes and the condition and they said it is factory sealed and in perfect, unopened condition. I will probably receive it this week. Thank you everyone.
  9. Thank you all for your inputs. I'm on a local forum where people who works in distributors (though IT related) are also present occasionally. They usually just laugh when someone mention "asking for a replacement". They know nightmare stories like the one where the buyer sent back a product to retailer A and tried to buy the same but new product at retailer B. Instead receiving a new he actually got back the exact same product he sent back earlier... What happened is the warehouse received the item from retailer A and then when retailer B asked for the same kind of product they just sent them the same item... I feel more confident buying on ebay now. Maybe only the first time is hard 😉 I will see what the retailer replies tomorrow and I will probably be able to decide based on that.
  10. I did explain my situation to the retailer. They basically repeat their initial respond telling me I can send it back within 14 business day for a full refund. That is not something they provide or do out of kindness though, that is by law. So, at this point they did not really show any kind of flexibility to solve my problem. Yesterday I sent them the photos I have made earlier. I told them initially I can send them if they need for their investigation, but they did not want them or they believed me without them. Hopefully that is the case. I also asked them about more options beside the full refund, based on willland's comment above. I also asked them about the sets they are selling, those also have an RP-250C in them and I asked them if they could get a replacement from them. I also asked about the possibility of getting an RP-440C or RP-450C for a similar "runway" discount that I had on the RP-250C. Of course, I would happy with a bigger center if it is perfectly new. And as the final option I asked about a bigger discount (that would be basically a partial refund) on my RP-250C that they offer for products they use for demonstration. My speaker is clearly in that condition, so I think if there is not any other option for a replacement that would be a fair thing from them to offer. They will reply probably on Monday. I still have time to send it back, I hope they can get me a new speaker somehow. If not, and they will not offer a partial refund, I think I might consider getting a completely new from ebay and send this one back to them. I normally do not like to buy expensive stuff from abroad via ebay, but if there is no other way, I have to. ebay has money back guarantee in case I will not get a perfect one. But first I will see what they will reply.
  11. I have a pair of RP-160M for fronts and a pair of RP-150M for surround. I think an RP-440C or RP-450C would be too big, so I did not really consider so far. The idea of asking for partial refund sounds good. They promised to investigate the case, maybe I should wait until they find something and if they realize they really sent me an opened box, maybe they are going to offer some refund on their own.
  12. I basically summarized my problem in the title. Finally, I was able to buy the missing center for my setup and I even got it on a sale, so I was very happy. Then I received it and I was pretty much shocked to see there was dust all over the place on the speaker and not just that, but I also saw some marks on the bottom and side too. All the marks suggest the speaker was a demonstration piece at a store and they did not care to put something underneath to prevent the marks when they move it on the furniture. I contacted the retailer immediately. They told me they did not even open the box when they get it from the main warehouse to make sure it is untouched, so they are as surprised as me to learn about it's condition. They said I can return it for a refund, but they can't give me a new on. They told the cherry variation I bought will be discontinued in the RP series. This retailer is actually the official distributor of Klipsch products here in Hungary, so if they can't get a new one, nobody can't. There are like 3-4 other retailers who also sell them, but they do not have any in their own inventory, they go to the distributor when someone wants to buy from them. So, in short, it seems I bought the last one in the whole country and there is no chance to replace it. Even if I request the refund, I might not be able to buy a new one ever here. Of course, I could buy a black one, but all my speakers are cherry, it would look weird I think. I saw few cherry one on ebay, but I have no idea how the warranty would work with those. The marks are not so bad, but it is bad enough when you thought you bought a completely new one from the factory. It would never collect such marks in my home. I'm planning to clean it up with some furniture cleaner and see if that helps. Do you guys have any ideas, suggestions?
  13. I have an update on this issue. Finally I bought new cables (Van Damme 268-525-060) and not just the weird noise gone completely, but they sound much clearer and louder too. I got a small collection of musics where I heard the issue previously (FLAC files) and now I can't here that in any of them. Thanks again for your help guys!
  14. After a lot of waiting, I have finally received the new speakers today and they look and sound perfect.
  15. ah, lol. interesting development. The distributor I contacted replied to me... They said they never distributed any Klipsch speakers... So the fact the dealer replied right after I sent them an email, seems to be a coincident...
  16. So, I contacted Klipsch again and told them that I'm still waiting the reply of the dealer. They gave me the distributor's contact and said I should contact them if the dealer is unable to handle situation. I asked the dealer yesterday about any update, they said the distributor has not replied to them yet, but I should take the speaker to their service and they might be able to help me there. That was not the reply I was waiting, so I contacted the distributor like 20 minutes ago, explaining the case. Interestingly, I got another email from the dealer few minutes later and they said the distributor is going to replace it as soon as they got new shipment. They do not have any of that type currently. I guess the distributor contacted the guy (I gave his address to the distributor, just to make sure that). It seems I need to wait few weeks, again.
  17. They have not replied anything yet.
  18. Yeah... I'm the original (otherwise happy) owner. I did contact Klipsch directly first and sent them the same photos too. They said I should contact my dealer and they will be able to handle the case. I'm still waiting the distributor's reply. To be honest, it is sad (disappointing?) that we could see such a manufacturing defect on a brand's product like Klipsch. I'm not sure who to blame: the people who actually build these speakers in China or the people who allow a product with such a defect to leave the factory. I did not have the slightest idea that could happen. Anyway, I hope they are going to replace it eventually. Btw, since they were in one box as a pair, do you think are they going to replace both or just the defective one? Thank you for replies!
  19. Thank you. I contacted the local dealer, they said it is going to be difficult to prove that was indeed happened in the factory, not after I bought them, since I bought them months ago. They are going to forward my issue to the distributor anyway and see what they will say. The dealer said if someone took the panel off and put it back and screws too hard that could cause such an issue. I believe without heating the vinyl they would not have such wrinkles. I'm not sure if the bolts have protection on them to prevent tampering, but of course I did not take them apart and all the bolts are intact.
  20. I recently noticed an issue on one of my RP-150M, see images 1, 2 and 3. The other one is perfect (ref image) which is weird, considering they came in one box. I think the issue is obvious from the 3 images, if not see how the brown material that covers everything wrinkles around the corners of the black opening. I wonder if that issue is covered by the warranty, because to be honest, those bumps are quite ugly. I probably should not say I can't believe QA missed that, because I have only noticed the issue now and I have been using them for a while. Anyway, what do you suggest? Should I try to contact the dealer about that?
  21. FYI, the title I was listening when I first noticed the noise was the 36th from the Ghosts IV album of NIN. I got the 24bit 96kHz version. Since that I heard with other titles from the same album: 13, 21 In 21 I hear from the start with the high tone.
  22. @RoboKlipsch thank you for your reply. I admit I use cheap cables without soldering, so it seems that could cause trouble too. Maybe I will check what Rotelpower did, try to touch the port when I hear the noise and see if it changes at all. If that is the problem does the warranty cover that?
  23. Hello, I have a pair of RP-160M as front and a pair of RP-150M for surround with an older Denon receiver. This is my first serious setup, I had a Logitech Z5500 before that. I have this setup for about a year and I'm happy with it. Mostly used for movies, but I occasionally listen to music too, only in stereo. I have a big collection of music, I'm still in the progress of checking them out on this setup. Anyway, I listened to a particular title today and I noticed a weird noise from the left speaker. It sounded like some kind of resonation, eg when a cheap car radio plays music at a high volume and the speakers started to distort. It seemed to come from the back of the speaker. The right speaker sounded fine at the same time. The volume was not cranked up to the max, I usually watch movies around -15dB and I have never noticed any weird noise. The particular music title has very high tones and I believe that causes the weird noises at high volume. While I was pretty sure the weird noise is not part of the music I played, I wanted to rule that out. For a quick test, I created a test sound with a sine wave where the frequency increases from 1000 to 20000. When I played that test sound, at higher volume, but still below the level I heard the noise with the music, I started to hear weird noises, but from both of the front speakers, though not at the same time. So, instead of the clear beep with the increasing frequency, I heard the beep and some kind of other random noise too, not white noise, but like some ugly cricketing. I doubt that is normal, eg I expect to hear only the test tone, maybe some distortion at extreme high volume, but I have not went above -15dB which I do not consider extreme high volume. I mean it IS loud already, but it could still go higher. Could someone please confirm that is indeed not a normal behaviour and I should return to the retailer? I still have warranty, so if something is wrong with them, I like to ask a replacement. Thanks
