  1. I ordered one this weekend and am going to try with my khorns and I will report.
  2. Hi Jimjimbo, I like em and recommend! I use mine to stream mainly from Google play music and use the optical out to feed the DAC on a Marantz SA8005 and it sounds better than it should! Actually I used it with the built in DAC with a vintage Kenwood and it also sounded very good to my ears. Not CD quality but perfectly adequate for casual listening IMHO - it all depends on the quality of the source, etc. There are some settings to be mindful of, there is an option to set for "full fidelity" or something similar - make sure that is on. Very cool device and I am sorry that they quit making them. Regards, Scott
  3. Hello! I had a set of Chorus II in a room size similar to yours but not quite as deep. 24 x 24 with a 16 foot vaulted ceiling. They did very nice and will probably sound real good with your Sansui. I now have some Klipschorns in the same spot and they are definitely a notch (or two) up. The bass, presence, and dynamics are superior to the Chorus II in my opinion. The horns are physically higher off the floor and it makes a difference in filling a large space Plus you will have more amplifier flexibility with the Klipschorns - from SS to low power tube. Chorus tend to like more power. I have tried several amplifiers with my Klipschorns and they all sound good Having had both I would get the Klipschorns in a minute if you have the budget, I don't think you will be sorry. Hope that helps.
  4. Thanks! That's interesting because I had thought about getting mine restored and may still yet. May I ask who you are getting to do the work?
  5. Yes sir it is a sweet unit indeed but it is mm only for phono. Thanks!
  6. Hello everyone. I am posting this on the local craigslist if anyone has an interest. Thanks! https://littlerock.craigslist.org/ele/d/kenwood-ka-9100-integrated/6761204251.html
  7. I can tell you that Marantz PM8005 sounds very good to my ears with Khorns. I would imagine it would do nicely with Lascala as well. The Marantz has a very nice phone stage as well. I am using it with a Dual 1219 and Ortofon combination. I have no experience with the NAD.

    Chorus II

    Sale is pending. Thanks
  10. I have not heard Heresy III. I do have a set of Heresy I's that I really like. That being said I also have some Chorus II and they spank the Heresy I in all departments IMO.

    Chorus II

Wow. I just noticed the s/n tag shows oak raw thus your comment. Don't know what to make of that. Definitely appears to be a factory oil finish. Didn't know these were even available raw? Label mistake?

    Chorus II

These are definitely oiled oak and not raw.

    Chorus II

Chorus II speakers for sale. I am the second owner. Oiled oak finish. I would grade them an 8 out of 10 cosmetically with no significant flaws. The crossovers have been refreshed with Crites parts as well as the tweeters with Crites titanium diagphragms. I have the original crossover parts and tweeter diagphragms. Grilles are in good shape. These really need nothing $950 and open to reasonable offers. Prefer local sale due to size and weight of these speakers. Not interested in trades. I am in the Central Arkansas Little Rock area. I have more images if there is an interest.
  15. I purchased these locally about 2 or 3 years ago for my daughter and she has since upgraded. These speakers have a polymer graphite woofer and they have been refoamed. All the drivers are original and working. These sound really good for a compact speaker and need nothing. Dimensions are 22.5" h x 12.5" d x 12.75 w. The condition is fair. Grilles are intact and in good shape the vinyl type "veneer" has some marring of the surface on one speaker but it is not horrible. $150.00 or make me a reasonable offer. No shipping and not interested in trades.
  16. Ready to go. I purchased this turntable from Goodwill 3 or 4 years ago. I cleaned the mechanics thoroughly and installed a drive new belt. It works great including the automatic function. The cue damping could use some work, probably needs fluid but it is perfectly usable as it is. It has an Empire 4000D/II cartridge which is highly regarded by some. I did have to replace the stylus. Over all condition I would rate at fair plus. The dust cover has hazing and I have never tried to polish it out. This would make a great starter turntable for someone. Not interested in shipping and no trades. $150 or reasonable offer. I have more images if anyone is interested.
  17. These are kind of unusual speakers. My dad bought these new in 72 or 73 along with a Sony STR-7065 and a Dual 1229. These are unrestored originals and as far as I can tell all the drivers function properly. I recently connected these to a vintage Kenwood KA-9100 and they sound good! Cosmetically they need some attention. They appear to have some nice veneer but it could use some touch up and repair. They are heavy at about 65 pounds each. Dimensions are 27.75 h x 18 w x 12 d. $125.00 or make me an offer. No trades. I am in the Central Arkansas Little Rock area. I have more images I can email, etc. if anyone is interested.
  18. Hello, I have just acquired a nice pair of '74 Klipschorns serial numbers 6M601 and 6M602. The grills have no badges. What are the correct badges for this year and are they available? Thanks for your help.
  19. Thanks everyone for their help and advice!
  20. No sir been a Klipsch fan a long time. Growing up in Little Rock it seems everyone had them or wanted them. Started with some 77 Heresy's in 1980, have some Chorus II, and now these. It's cool that my Heresy's were signed by M. Bradford - he also signed these 74 Klipschorns.
  21. Thanks! I'm not - out of dough right now anyway 😀. These have untouched original crossovers. Yesterday morning I was listening to Chorus II and this afternoon these in the same spot and same room. The bass on these Klipschorns is very good and of a different quality than the Chorus - cleaner perhaps? I am not good at describing sound. The dynamics are definitely superior and they seem even less tolerant of poor source material that the Chorus if that makes sense. I have been listening to a variety of stuff to get a feel for them. The mids and highs were smoother on the Chorus but the Klipschorns seem to fill the room effortlessly big sound and are more strident on the mids and highs. These definitely sound better than my Chorus II but don't embarrass them totally.
