  1. I heard a pair recently on a single ended triode amp and they were superb. In fact, I bought the amp for use with my khorns, but I think it was superior on the LS.
  2. Nice and maybe historically significant, but I'd be much more excited if they were oiled walnut. Lacquered Oak would be near the bottom of my list. I don't think the price is insane though. condition does appear to be amazing enough they would be a burden to own knowing every ding you put on them was your own fault.
  3. Pixel will be my next device if the 6P ever gives up the ghost. Longest I've ever had a phone so I'm enjoying the suspense.
  4. I've had a 6P for 3 plus years. It's been a great phone. Battery is replaceable if you're not squeamish.
  5. Pics would be helpful. A mahogany stain might be what you're after. Cut it a little big and sand it to fit. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  6. I second SET+KHORN+AMBIENT= BLISS! Ambient was all I listened to for much of the 90's then I went away from it when I got out of the HIFI hobby. Getting back into it I was pleased to stumble on the 2017 album by Bola called D.E.G. It's very much old-school with Aphex Twin, Orb, FSOL influences, but very, very well done. A true system workout.
  7. Thanks for the plot. Are you northreadingeng.com? Some interesting solutions there. I strongly considered going the active crossover route prior to getting a SET. I have a Minidsp HD that I've been messing around with.
  8. Yeh, I haven't tried them with the original drivers (I think Volti is missing out by making the adapter so expensive), but the change with the BMS was startling. This SET is really revealing as well. It's pointing a big accusatory finger at my crossovers.
  9. I'm not running the K-77. The Volti's came with Beyma CP 25's which seem much, much better than the K-77 to my ears.
  10. I feel much the same. I bought the package used after all. I don't begrudge him a living and I'm sure his economy crossovers are fine, but I'd rather modify what I have or buy something killer used. I truly appreciate the help. Sorry I'm not more active in the thread right now, but I'm neck deep in a sixth grade cell wall model project. The crossovers should be a piece of cake after this.
  11. Thank you. No, Beyma CP 25 tweeters came with the package. Will the resistor adversely affect the overall sensitivity of the system? I'm using a two watt amp at the moment.
  12. I can't sell them. I convinced my wife they would keep me from buying anymore speakers. Then I promptly forked over an almost equal amount of dough on the Volti hardware. Now I am ashamed to tell her I have to lay out some more for crossovers, lol. I'd rather splurge on quality caps and build them myself than pay for an off the shelf xover.
  13. I recently purchased a Volti mid-horn and tweeter package from a forum member. He did not wish to sell the tweeters so I have been running them in my Khorns with the stock AA crossover and trying to tame the more efficient 16 ohm BMS 4592nd driver with DSP. It's less than ideal obviously. I just slapped $5k worth of braces on my kid so money is kind of tight at the moment with the holidays approaching, so I would like to modify my existing crossovers which would likely benefit from a recap anyway. Any guidance on the process would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  14. Yeh, I'm running AA's with them and trying to balance everything with DSP. How would I modify them? I can soldier and follow basic schematics, but my knowledge on how to modify a circuit is nil.
  15. I'm looking for new crossovers for my Volti-Modded Khorns. The BMS 4592nd driver is way more efficient than stock. Is there a way I could modify these for use? I mean I'm sure there is, but is it advisable? I bought the Volti package used and it did not include the crossovers. His crossovers seem kinda steep.
  16. I pasted it from google.pics. Showed up for me, but looks like it exceeded the image size limit.
  17. I don't have any real great pics of them. This will give you an idea though. My understanding is they took sheets of veneer and dyed them, reglued them together and then cut them to get the patter. They are not rosewood as some people assume.
  18. I paid $2700 for my '79 Ramblin Rose K-Horns less than a year ago. 4 hour round trip driving. Was happy to do it. They hardly ever come up within easy driving distance here (Cleveland) and when they do, they generally go fast unless there are major condition issues. I got $1200 for my Corwall 2s so I think the market for Klipsch Heritage is pretty solid here.
  19. $300 is a steal for a nice pair of KG4's in my book. They are so versatile and well balanced. You can not touch the look and performance of those speakers with anything new today at $300.
  20. I think you could just fasten them together and sail them across lake Ontario.
  21. They look fantastic. Scott stuff is magnificent. I've got a fully restored 340a and a pair of 210f Dynaural monoblocks. Some of the most beautiful gear ever made by any manufacturer. Scott gear does not get the respect it deserves.
  22. Damn right it has! I'm so grateful this thread produced such rapid results. Looks like I might have the new drivers tomorrow. I'll let you guys know my impressions once I've got them sorted. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
