  1. Thanks, guys. There is just short of 12' between a pair of built-in bookcases on what will be the front wall (across the room from the listening chair). I'll try putting the Forte's in the corners created by the bookcases and out a foot or so, and see what's what. Have a safe, healthy and Happy Thanksgiving! Mike
  2. Turns out I have to place these on the long wall about 8' apart in a 10 x 20 room. Is there any chance this could work? Probably not, right?
  3. I overcame the last minute impulse to spend less on a pair of Zu Omen II DWs. I’ll pick up the 1 year old Forte III’s this weekend. Zack offered some setup suggestions. I plan to spend some time getting this right. Anyone else have setup wisdom for the new Fortes to share? Thanks, Mike
  4. Thanks, Peter. But don't the Heresys have about the same footprint as the Fortes? There's a sweet pair of Forte III's for sale near me.
  5. I apologize if this has been treated (extensively?) elsewhere. My experience with Klipsch speakers is limited to an old pair of Heresy's a million years ago, and the distressed but wonderful sounding Belles w/ALK original universal xover that I loved with MC 30's. New digs, basement music room: 10 x 20 x 8. New electronics: modern tube pre + old school EL34 amp. What Klipsch speakers now? CW, Forte, Chorus? Please let me have your thoughts and suggestions. Thanks in advance. Mike
  6. Lovely indeed! Are these the Heritage model CW II's? Mike
  7. SOLD to Andyr. Thanks to the forum for facilitating this! One of the forum's members saw my sale thread on AK and suggested that I list these here, and it worked.
  8. Local pickup in Greeley, Pike County, PA, or you arrange and pay for crating & shipment. Fabulous sound, lousy cosmetics. The grill cloths don't match, and these babies sorely need to be refinished (if they're part of your main show-off rig). Aftermarket ALK Universal crossovers (the ALK originals). The stock balancing networks were sold. The 15" woofer in one bass bin is intermittent (I believe the culprit is a poor connection at the barrier strip on top of the bass bin). I fixed it once before by cleaning the strip and the screw that holds in the wires to the crossover. (The screws are odd, in that there appears to be a plastic insert under the head, seemingly a poor choice for this application). $825 firm.
