Would it work if did this and then wrap electrical tape over it? If not I'll probably try to solder it together

Hi I'm new to the forum but I was hoping someone could help me fix my promedia 2.1 subwoofer. One of the internal wires got severed, I went to a bunch of electronic stores and none could help me find a replacement, if anyone has any idea where I could get another cable like this that would be superb! Thanks
