  1. I see you have also an RSW-10D, I have them working together, the rsw15 and the rsw10d, in my HT with RF63s and they sounds great together. Why are you selling this Sub?
  2. Hey Youthman, I have an RF-83 question. You stated the sound of the RF-83s is more relaxed, soothing and beautiful sound of the 3, why would you not use it for the 2 channel system and send the RF-7ii to the HT system?? Did other factors come into play, aesthetics, the all important WAF, your HT benefits from specifically the RF-83s, etc...??? Wouldn't the HT system benefit more having the RF-7 II characteristics?? Thank you
  3. Agreed!!! I'm just afraid that instead of getting rid of one of them I just end up buying more electronics and figuring out where to place this additional system!! At this rate one could run out of rooms very quickly!!! hahahaha
  4. I am actually using a tube preamp and a solid state amp. The amp has a current source and a voltage source, so I connect the LF to the voltage source and the HF to the current source, which simulates tubes. My highs are tube like while my lows are very controlled and thunderous, as one would expect from 300 watts of solid state amp. Great combo!!!
  5. The Forte II have the Crites upgraded cap kit, but not installed. They are selling for around US$800, which for my country is not bad since it is here already, no shipping and no import tax. I think I might just go ahead and get them and try them out. The RF-83s make for a monster 2 channel system, and I am used to that power and presence, almost visceral quality. Would the Fortes be similar, or would I miss that presence??
  6. Hey Jesse, how are brother??? Thats what I figured I should do. I know you've had RF-63s, have you heard the Forte II??
  7. Hello community, I currently have a 2 channel setup with RF-83s, Sunfire Vacuum Tube Controller and a Sunfire 300 Two amp. Just purchased an RSW-15 subwoofer for it and waiting for it to arrive. A pair of almost mint Forte II with Crites upgrade caps just popped up locally, and here lies the dilema. Should I stick with the RF-83s which I love, or do I get the Forte II??? In my country a Klipsch Heritage is not very common and I have never heard any, this opportunity is pretty unique. Thank you for your help!
  8. Love my RF-63's, I have the 83's too in a 2 channel system, they are both amazing speakers!!! I find the sound very similar, but the 83s have more presence, if that makes sense, just a "bigger" sound! The 63s, paired with my subs are incredibly sweet, but I'm probably mostly hearing the room anyway!! I found a single demo 83 in my country, so when I pull the trigger I will complete my dream front stage, now I just need a bigger theater room!!! jajajaja. Below is my second system, even though it sounds pretty good, the room is still being decorated, lets see how it sounds when everything is done!
  9. That is an RC-62 ii, it does pretty well. I am in the Dominican Republic, very difficult to ship back and forth. The future goal is triple RF-83s for the front, RF-63s for the rears, all running full range. RS-52 ii for elevation, dual RSW-10Ds, and 1 more big sealed sub, not sure which one. For the 2 channel system, a Sunfire Tube Preamp, Sunfire 300 Two, which I already have with my RF-83s. Change the RF-83s to La Scalas, Chorus or Cornwalls. This will take time, but its fun to work on it, do research and grow it out slowly.
  10. Hey Willand, great to hear this, I am loving my Sunfire combo, but missing the modern conveniences. And I always have that thought in the back of my mind that the newer DACs could outperform the older Sunfire DACs, with the newer movies. I guess I'll soon find out!!! Thank you for your continuous help Willand!! Here is a pic of my little man cave!
  11. Hello, I currently have a Sunfire Cinema Grand amplifier paired with an Ultimate Receiver, with the amp section disabled, basically a TGP III. I am looking to upgrade to HDMI, streaming, newer formats and updated DACS, and I am planning to get an Yamaha Aventage as preamp or a CX-A5100 processor. I am international and can't return/ship items back, to try different options, I rely on the feedback of more knowledgeable peers. My question is if Sunfires sound good with modern Yamahas, are they a good match???My speakers are Klipsch RF-63 surround system, with dual RSW-10D's.Thank you for you help!!!Also posted on the Carver site and audioholics, would really like feedback before taking any steps.
  12. Bill, I hear you, we are in the same boat brother!! What to do???
  13. Hello, I am thinking of doing an upgrade/update to my processor, from a Sunfire TGP-III to possibly a Yamaha CX-A5100 for a 5.2 system? Judging STRICTLY by sound quality, not bells and whistles or any other criteria, purely talking about sound, would it be and upgrade or a downgrade?? Any thoughts?? Thank you!!! Sunfire Cinema Grand 5 Channel 200 watts/channel Klipsch RF-63 Mains Klipsch RC-62 II Center Klipsch RS-52 II Surrounds Dual Subwoofers: RSW-10D's (2)
  14. I agree, they really don't need a sub, but they could benefit. I am just looking for that little extra that I haven't lost, since I have never heard it in my music setup. Perfectly happy with it now, but that upgrade bug is a *****. I will keep the RSW-10D's with the RF-63's, which I have setup properly, do benefit in an appreciable manner with them and I absolutely love that combination. I will try the bigger subs you suggest with the 83's and see how it goes, maybe SVS or REL too. Thank you for all your input!!
  15. I finally tried my dual RSW-10d's with the RF-83's in my 2 channel setup, the difference was negligible. When the subs were on it had a little more presence and dug a little deeper. But when I turned them off, the still copious amount of bass from the rf-83's was more than adequate and i did not feel I was missing anything, and this was done with many different tracks. The sound coming from the subs off was more "together" than with the subs on, however, I attribute this to not having them properly setup. The difference was so minimal that I was not willing to put the time into getting them just right. The sub matching tools suggest HUGE subs for these speakers, at least SVS and Rel's do!! In REL's I had to use comparable speakers because they don't have this model available. Do the RF-83's need bigger subs than these to make a important difference to their already adequate bass??
  16. That actually sounds like a great idea!!! I have a Sunfire Cinema Grand amp that will paire great with the 83's for HT.
  17. I currently have them paired with RF-63 in a home theater 5.2 setup, with a Sunfire Ultimate Receiver., and they sound absolutely fabulous!! For HT I believe I could get maybe 2 SVS and use the RSW-10D in the 2 channel setup with the RF83. I would not be able to bass manage the RF-83 and would leave them running full range. Hooked up to a Sunfire Vacuum Tube Preamp, a Sunfire 300 two amp. The highs are hooked up to current source output which resembles tube-like sound, and the LF to the voltage source for the bass control. I will give it a try this weekend and see how it goes!!
  18. I actually have 2 RSW-10Ds, just wondering about how beneficial it would be to use them with the RF83, which produce lots of bass, rated at 29htz. The subs are rated down to 24htz and I thought they could add a little richness to lower lows! Not a basshead or anything, and I don't listen to lots of R&B, rap or electronic music.
  19. Hello, just asking more knowledgeable minds before I start moving stuff around. Would a pair of RSW-10Ds work well with RF-83 towers, strictly for a 2 channel music setup?
  20. I agree, the 851N, MB50 and Aurelic Altair seems to be the higher end for my under US$2K budget. Of these 3, which do you think would pair well with Klipsch rf 83 speakers and Sunfire 300 Two amp??
  21. Does the Sonica have internet radio access??
  22. NICE!! I have an Ultimate Receiver in my HT setup with RF63s and dual RSW-10D subs, absolutely wonderful!!! Switched from a modern Yamaha and have never looked back. The Sonica or the Auralic Altair is what I am leaning towards, both seem great, just that one is twice the price of the other!
  23. I was thinking of getting a Parasound Halo P5, preamp with bass management and DAC, and a streamer as source. What preamp are you using??
  24. Would the Node 2 be comparable to the "higher end" offerings under US$2K, or is it more in line with the WXC-50 or Sonica DAC?
