  1. There may be room for further improvement but my theater room sounds pretty much like the real theater. I'm still looking at building the 18 inch subs and upgrading the rears to KLF-20s if I can find a decent deal on a set. The front sound stage is all you could ever want and the 525 THXs integrate way better than I even hoped as side surrounds. All in all it's pretty awesome as is and will get a little better I think with the upgrades I just mentioned. Be well forum and thanks for the help!
  2. Well I finally got everything upgraded and installed and ... WOW! I have the theater sound in my home theater. It's everything I hoped it would be. I still think I'm going to upgrade the rears to KLF-20s. The KF-28s sound great back there but I think I may see even more improvement with the upgraded speakers in back. I'm extremely impressed with how well the KS-525 THX speakers integrate with the KLF front sound stage. I feel like a little kid LOL! I'm also curious how much improvement I'll get with the 18 inch subs idea that a couple of you have mentioned earlier.
  3. I bought a cracked horn and epoxied the BeJesus out of it, put the Crites upgrades in all the tweeters (KLD-30s and C7), replaced the woofers on the C7 and it sounds pretty darn good. My Marantz SR7011 doesn't want to calibrate via audessy for some reason. it says it can't hear the center channel but I hear it fine. Did a manual cal and the manual cal won't let me adjust the height speakers. It's definitely a work in progress. Each tweak I make seems to help a little. Perhaps I'll start a new thread since my mid range horn issue is cured.
  4. That's what I have and they are incredible! I can't imagine anything better.
  5. Great news! Klipsch still has the k-1062-ev's and 2 of them will be at my house in 5 to 10 business days. At long last my front sound stage will be where I have always imagined it could be. Yee Haw! By the way, the parts person said they have 90 left in the event anyone else is considering replacements.
  6. Is there any difference in the k-1062-kv (Klipsch KLF-C7) and a k-1062-ev (Klipsch Epic CF-2 I believe) which the good folks at the Klipsch parts department are selling as a replacement woofer for the C7. Additionally, if I have a bad woofer in a C7, should I replace both for timbre matching issues within the speaker? Thanks in advance and have a great day!
  7. I have a Marantz 7011 that is incredible. I still have a ton to learn about it. I'm running it into a bunch of Crown power amps although I don't really need to. I have them so I'm using them. Plus they take my theater experience from awesome, to the next level. The 7011s predecessor is the 7010. It has most of the features and will be cheaper if you can find one. Comparison here: https://receiversevaluate.blogspot.com/2016/12/marantz-sr7011-vs-sr7010.html If I had it to do over again I think I would have gone the separates route as that is essentially what I'm doing now anyways. I'm just kind of using the 7011 as a pre-amp. I will be using its internal amps other hdmi outputs to provide video/sound in other rooms in the future. Good luck!
  8. It's what I need. I've removed the right woofer out of the KLF-C7 and it sounds fine. Thanks for the update! By the way, should I replace both or just the bad one. I'm curious if having one new and one seasoned will make a difference in the sound qualty.
  9. Hi Jesse, That guys had says contact him about shipping prior to bidding and he hasn't answered yet. Been a couple of days. Does anyone know of anywhere besides here, ebay, and craigslist to watch for a CF-7? Thanks in advance! Clint Asher
  10. Hi AVGuy, I have no experience with fiberglass. My current plan is to fit the pieces as well as they'll go and then do a 2 part epoxy build up to fill any gaps and try to sand it back to as close as original as I can.
  11. Can you give me the number you used? I need 1 or 2 of these also. Clint Asher
  12. So much for my great day. I put the Crites Ti diaphragm and upgraded crossover in my KLF-C7 and I still have muffly distortion during a lot of the vocals. I can't do the audyssey set up until I fix the horn on my KLF-30 Mid range. I'm hoping since my Marantz SR7011 was set up with different speakers via the Audyssey calibration mic, that it will fix itself when I re-calibrate. Everything looked fine inside the speaker when I took it apart to do the upgrade. I am really disappointed because I spent a LOT of money and time trying to find this stuff and everyone (friends all over, not just what I've read here) said how awesome it was going to be when I got it up and running. *sigh* Clint PS The distortion goes away when I put the original KC-25 back in there.
  13. It is indeed a great day for my little slice of paradise here on planet eart. My Crite upgrade parts just arrived. By tomorrow evening I will be rocking out in a very new and improved way. My 12 ga. speaker wire also arrived so I will have it all except the replacement horn on one of my KLF-30s operational by dinner time tomorrow (assuming I don't foul anything up LOL!) Clint
  14. I've read that a lot of folks are using the Behringer iNuke NU3000 ( http://www.guitarcenter.com/Behringer/iNUKE-NU3000-Power-Amp-1301508431129.gc?cntry=us&source=4WWRWXGP&gclid=Cj0KEQjwv_fKBRCG8a3ao-OQuZ8BEiQAvpHp6PdeyZrV_SG_MaM2w_MSI5BSBEN6CJNP9N15ky7e2-IaApX08P8HAQ&kwid=productads-adid^172488555108-device^c-plaid^140858860341-sku^1301508431129@ADL4GC-adType^PLA ) or NU60000. I prefer Crown myself and have a stack of XLS-1502's ( http://www.guitarcenter.com/Crown/XLS1502-2-Channel-525W-Power-Amplifier-with-Onboard-DSP.gc )taking care of business for me. I hope this is helpful! Clint
