  1. OK, I don't think Yogi Berra ever went to Hamburg, so I don't have any reply.
  2. oldtimer, you should already know this, if you don't know where you're going you might not get there.
  3. If you ask me anything I don't know, I'm not going to answer.
  4. You know, I'm thinking this is déjà vu all over again.
  5. So is this something along the lines of Yogi Berra's quote, "When I see a fork in the road I take it."
  6. I know what you mean, check out the LG refrigerators where the light would stay on. How do I know about that, except that I caught it before the meltdown. It turned out to be a bad relay on the board. Now I only keep one light in the refrigerator. But, as far as OLED TVs go, the only other alternative is Sony, which is overpriced and we lived with the famous Sony Vertical Line Syndrome for several years before we chose the LG OLED. In my opinion the LG OLED is better than the Sony in many ways. I'll whisper so Dave doesn't hear, but Vizeo has a pretty poor reputation too from what I understand.
  7. So you DO have the 65" LG OLED on standby?
  8. Oh ya, I'm STILL trying to forget those, but I don't think I'll be able.
  9. OK, I'm tired of this Thaddeus Smith guy. First it was his videos, now he's here swearing! In French no less!! He needs to be banned and this thread LOCKED. NOW.
  10. You're not kidding, and even dads have a tough time paying the price! BUT, I was in the same situation, I asked on Amazon about getting a 55" OLED instead of the 65" OLED, as it was MUCH less, and he said, "Save your money and get the 65 inch" and he was right. It is an incredible TV, expensive yes, but worth the price. When I bought too, there was not even a remote possibility of a deal like Schu is offering, it was new or nothing. Here, you're getting a year-old TV, essentially the same as this year's features AFAIK, for a huge price reduction. I have exactly the same TV, mine is a year-and-a-half old. If somebody walked into my house and said they'd give me $1800 for it, or even $2000, I wouldn't sell. I'd just have to go out and get another one.
  11. Given Thaddeus' previous postings, I'm thinking about resorting to personal insults!
  12. Wow, I have the strangest feeling of déjà vu. If I'm not mistaken, jimjimbo is going to start talking about his long-term housing plans?
  13. Boy, I thought oldtimer might be referring to me, but I had to look up erudite.
  14. Umm, I'm just worried he's out sowing his wild oats. Well, people keep quoting me!!!
  15. OK, then I'm going to DEMAND that this thread NOT BE LOCKED IMMEDIATELY, but hopefully soon because I'm running out of witty things to post!!!!
  16. I have never been so insulted in my entire life. oldtimer, there's no point in changing it to kcircled. Get it, "no point" in a circle!! And now that I've introduced a pun, I will, once again, have to DEMAND that this thread be LOCKED IMMEDIATELY.
  17. I don't know if "trustworthy" is really the key point in this situation.
  18. OK, I'm also going to ask, no DEMAND, that Thaddeus Smith be banned for life from ever posting again, and this thread IMMEDIATELY LOCKED. I'd copy what he posted, but it is so extraordinarily frightening that I'd be just as guilty as he is.
  19. Hey, hey, HEY! Are you telling me you don't have complete confidence in Broward County Supervisor of Elections Brenda Snipes?
  20. I'm not, but my mom knows about him. She's 90 and I know that she's said that he has been hounded by the FDA. I thought somehow his license was revoked, but at some point it was restored. One book my mom has mentioned is "The 100 Year Lie," which I guess is something along the same lines. An anecdotal story about my mom, with a different doctor in Michigan back in the 1930's. She was losing her eyesight, and my granddad worked with somebody who knew of this eye doctor in Michigan. So he took her to Michigan on many occasions to get special eye-drops from him, and said that long lines of people used to wait to get to see him. He was called a "quack" by the medical experts back then. But, my mom was on the verge of going blind, but after that she was able to continue being able to see, not 20-20 of course, but still much improved over the alternative. I don't know his name or what happened to him. Now, just recently, she has used some special eye-drops made from blood drawn from her, and that was supposed to be very helpful to her also.
  21. I thought it was a mighty nice matching setup with the KV4 drivers in the C7 excellent condition cabinet. What I didn't understand was that it was required to buy those three and the other C7 drivers in the admittedly less than perfect black cabinet. So I'd think at least an optional choice, with a price, should be the setup as shown, which looks excellent, the two CF-4s and the modified C7. I just don't see purchasing and shipping an extra speaker that the buyer would then be selling and shipping, maybe 2000 miles back to a new buyer.
  22. Hey, hey, hey! Speak for yourself Ceptorman!! I just love spending Dave's money!!! 😁 I'm thinking the deal on the LG 65" OLED can be beat by a wide margin by Chris at Cleveland Plasma. I guess it's time I call Chris and tell him I'm Dave and get that OLED TV to WV.
  23. You're welcome. The ad listed $5999 (So UNDER $6K!!) and was listed from 3/15/18 to 4/13/18. I found it by hifishark, searching la scala ii cherry, then expired listings. Now, technically I'm assuming they are the same, as how common would La Scala II in Cherry be in Central IL?
  24. OK, I did find it, with many photos from the older ad by the authorized Klipsch dealer. https://www.audiogon.com/listings/lis8g4ae-klipsch-heritage-la-scala-ii-full-range?refsource=hifishark
  25. I will have to do research, but I think if you check on hifishark, you can see the expired ad from the dealer in Springfield, IL about these same speakers. IIRC, the dealer ad showed more close-up photos of imperfections that aren't shown on the current ad. So I don't know if these imperfections have been fixed, or just attempted to be overlooked. If I can find it I'll post the link to the older ad.
