  1. How about Legends? I have 2 pair for sale...
  2. Have a mint pair of Oak KLF-10's. Perfect for mains, surrounds, or converting to a CC. $400 Also have a pair of Black KLF-20's. These were the first Legends I heard and fell in love with the sound. Bought them used a few years ago. In solid condition, but not flawless. $500 I'm located between Chicago/Milwaukee and don't have the boxes anymore, so would prefer local pick up. I'd be willing to drive a few hours any direction. Pics available upon request. michael.strassburg@cardinal.com
  3. I was running a 4 Tempest IB sub for the past 6 months, but it just didn't have the impact to match my room full of Legends. I did the IB in a line array, so I had a 22" x 75" hole in the wall covered by a frame and speaker cloth, so it was a stealth set up and nothing in the listening room. That part I liked, but I missed the ported sub. Then I realized what needed to be done. I built 2 17^3 boxes tuned to 18Hz and stacked them in the spare room firing through the IB hole and hidden by the same grill. Only pushing 200watts to each sub. Fired it up tonight for the first time. Demoed a bunch of music and the sound is incredible; loud, detailed, punch you in the chest type bass. I do tend to listen at ridiculous volumes and this thing keeps up no problem. I would have to "guess" around 130dB @1meter as my old dual Tempest sub hit 127+ and this one is definitely louder. I'll have to break out the Rat Shack meter and see what it'll do. I love my Legends with this sub. Insane volume and amazing sound. Can't wait to watch a few movies tomorrow....
  4. Here's one design: 2 Tempests, 1 Hypex plate amp, 1 big hunk of sonotube. Measured 127+ dB @31.5HZ in my room. Total investment was about $900. I built it because I like to build things, so the labor price doesn't factor in for me. LOTS of proven designs out there. Blake would be better of searching other DIY forums.
  5. I know this won't really help but an IB sub is THE best I've ever heard for music. I've got a room full of Legends and it blends seamlessly and is accurate beyond belief. You might want to consider it as there are many ways to install them and it's not hard at all. I can guarantee you will not be disappointed. I demoed a Rel several years ago and was very impressed sound qualiy wise, but not for the $$$. Did little for HT, but was nice for music. Best bet is to start demoing a bunch of local ones and bring the music you listen to.
  6. Brad, Not a problem as I'm not in any hurry to sell them, just thought if some fellow Klipsch members were looking I'd make them available. Right now they're sitting in the basement and niether pair has been used in over a year. My email address is: Strass7@comcast.net Use that if/when you want them as I'm not on here that often. Thanks...Mike
  7. I have a pair of oak 10's and a pair of black 20's that are just sitting in the basement, so if anyone is looking to expand/upgrade let me know. I live between Chicago/Milwaukee and will only do a local pick-up as I don't have the boxes for them. I'm willing to drive an hour either direction. Oak 10's for $400 Black 20's for $550 Both pair are in good condition and pics are available upon request. Thanks...Mike
  8. If size and color isn't a concern I'd build a sonosub like I did. 2 Tempests and a plate amp. Can go with a cheaper amp and do the whole thing for probably $600-$700. Also there are better drivers out, but I went most bang for the buck. U-571 depth charges will make your pants move. I'm talking MAJOR impact. I've heard nothing commercially that comes close, but I'm sure there are subs that will for mega bucks. I'll also second the IB sub as that's what I'm building in a few weeks. If you're reasonbly handy with tools and enjoy the challenge I say go with DIY. As for KLF-20's or 30's as I have both, they ROCK with this sub. I've NEVER failed to put a grin on someone's face when they hear my set-up. It does take a LOT of bass to compliment the Legends...
  9. chuthor.......sent you a PM.
  10. Well I found the original box in the basement so shipping wont' be a problem.
  11. I drive this car 4-5 times per week and have been known to do a little late night racing.......
  12. This is the correct pic... So anyone looking for a fast station wagon??
  13. If you're looking for an awesome center channel to compliment your Legends or perhaps other speakers this one will do it. I had a C-7 first, but this thing blows it away or sound and clarity, especially at very loud volumes, like reference level. I've added bucking magnets for shielding. Speaker is mahogony with a hammertone silver face. I also have the grill. Would need to be a local pick up as I don't have the box for it. Located between Chicago/Milwaukee and I'm willing to drive an hour or so to meet you. $300. Thanks....Mike
  14. U-571 is my standard, then if it's killer subwoofer time Titan A.E. the ice crystal scene has some 12hz stuff in it. Matrix lobby scene is good. Also cranked up AC/DC DTS dvd for a few friends.
