  1. Update: Finally had the time to take the speaker to a repair shop, I'm happy to let you know it is finally working properly, it must have been something simple as it only took them a couple of hours before I got the call telling me it was ready, even better, I was only charged 10 bucks! So I guess this is a win. Thanks to everyone who tried to help me and gave me some advice. I'm loving this speaker.
  2. Guess I'll do that in case I the cross can't be fixed, so if you ever need woofers for your RS-3 you know where to look. It's such a shame, these are beautiful. Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk
  3. I just did something similar, don't want to risk the RS-3s hehe so I just plugged the woofers directly to the receiver (probably shouldn't) and they do produce nice lows, now I'm confident it is indeed the crossover, at least just the low frequency circuits, also, just the tweeter alone really sounds good, you were right about the horn improvement.
  4. Just one last thing, we can agree after everything I told you that it is the cross over that's bad right? Is there a way to test the woofers themselves for sound instead of using the battery like I did? And also, thanks a lot for your advice.
  5. Actually there's a steady supply of Klipsch gear, this guy I told you that had the RF-3 for 400 got me the sub and some other gear, he had RF-62 II for 400 as well so I'll ask him for any of those speakers you mentioned, though I think RF-7 are out of my league. This forum is so good I asked for help and now I'm into buying even more gear hahaha. Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk
  6. Music, videogames and movies, music mostly, I live in Mexico right now, but I used to live in Missouri, so it is a bit hard to get these things down here. Really 230 each? I've seen those go for a 900 a pair on eBay. Right now I have RS-3 for my rear and side surrounds, this RC-3, an RSW-10 I think it's the model number for the sub and SF1 as my towers, if I can get the center fixed for cheap then I might have some extra budget for new towers, if not, then 500.
  7. Right now I only need to replace the towers, since they're the most expensive I wanted to buy these last, the budget is around 500 for the towers as now it seems like I need a new center.
  8. Well, it's got twice the power and I really like getting loud haha, I paid 80 bucks for it shipped. Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk
  9. It's an old Klipsch KV-2, I'm replacing every speaker in my home theater as I have older 90's Klipsch speakers and wanted to upgrade while not investing a whole lot, but I'm telling you I don't really know a lot about speakers.
  10. Is there any other Klipsch reference center you would recommend? I'm replacing a really old Klipsch 90's center haha and I've seen some RC-25 and RC-35 for cheap, but I'm not really an audio connoisseur, also how are those RF-3s? A friend was selling a pair for 400 dolars shipped.
  11. Guess I'll just take the speaker to a shop where they can repair it or replace the crossover, I've seen people who replace crossovers for better audio quality so I guess this can be done to spec by someone. I really don't want to ship this back, it's too big.
  12. The sticker is a bit damaged but it looks like this is the S/N: RC3BK--0047 0568. I believe Klipsch manufactured these speakers from 1999 to 2001. If you mean the S/N of the crossover it is this one: 116438
  13. Cables look intact, here are some pictures of the cable soldering and the cable tips. Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk
  14. Just checked that and they're tight and in place, any other ideas?
  15. I'm using an Onkyo TX-NR515 rated at 130w. I got some pictures but none of them really show good detail I tried looking for damaged or burnt looking components on it but everything seems ok, also checked the solder joints to see if maybe one of them was loose or something but they all look ok to me :/
