  1. Apologies stateside if it's too early to be talking Ukrainian monos and Chinese pre amps 🙂
  2. Hi All, just hooked up my Chorus Ii to my PhaSt valve monoblocks via a HIT Audio modded Cayin valve pre amp - fantastic match. Will try the Forte and Heresy SM later. When well match you get great results - guys here in the UK just knock em though few ever heard them let alone at at their best. M
  3. Just hooked my Heresy SM (Stage Monitors) up to a heavily modded WAD 6550 integrated valve amp. I have not listened to them for the best part of a year as I found them a touch fatiguing on another SS monobloc rig. What a transformation! Its tubes all the way from now on. I will hook them up to my Williamson KT88 monocblocs later in the week. I have been listening to them as NFMs so will also play around a little with the placement. All the best, M
  4. Thank you very much John. Best regards, Martin
  5. They sound fantastic, right up there with my Maggies, ProAC, Apogee, Ruark, B&W, Tannoys, Royd et al. I paid 300GBP here in the UK but supply and demand needs to be considered - there is demand and very very little supply - sellers market. I thought it was more than a fair price. One lady owner, who brought them from new as a matched pair, never gigged, relocated across the pond from San Fransico, hence being available here - very quiet life. They will not have been recapped so that is a must. Any recommendations on caps make and range? Martin
  6. These will be off to a cabinet maker soon for repair and a real wood veneer. Still undecided on the veneer - zebra wood, wenge, walnut burr? Want to make a statement. Any suggestions are welcomed. Thanks, Martin
  7. Thank you. I will post photos of the internals later. The super tweeters used are a high-end HF enhancement rather than a replacement. Still trying to grapple with the science behind them. I was of the opinion they lived in the realm of HiFi Snake Oil until I heard their impact on high performance speakers - WOW. I am a convert there. Martin
  8. I also piggy backed a pair of Emoto ribbon super tweeters onto them that resulted in dramatic enhancements across the range. Martin
  9. Thank you. I have them hooked up to a Croft Valve Pre and a Quad 405-2 power. I have lifted them a granite plinths so mids are at seated ear level. They are positioning 450mm by 450mm from each corner and approx 3200mm apart. Does that sound OK? Martin
  10. Hi All, new member based in the UK. Just got hold of a pair of weather beaten Heresy and would be extremely grateful for any insight to the model/ spec that I have. Kind regards Martin
