  1. Haha ... ordered a XLS 2502 a couple of days ago And yes, probably "overkill," but found a (customer return) 2502 on Reverb ... cheaper than I could find a 1002 Add-on note ... S/N on the 1002 is not as good as the 1502/etc ... no clue if it matters
  2. Haha ... ordered one
  3. Saw them once in London ... awesome Also was in London when Freddy died ... unbelievable; people were crying in the streets and the BBC played Queen videos continuously for days
  4. Wow; my wife would love these as shelves Just got some big 18" JBL bass bins and was told "definitely NO."
  5. Sorry; no clue ... had never even heard of these ... seems to be a great speaker ... specs: https://f072605def1c9a5ef179-a0bc3fbf1884fc0965506ae2b946e1cd.ssl.cf2.rackcdn.com/product-specsheets/KPT-4350-MS-Data-Sheet-v01.pdf
  6. Yes; agree But the XLS 2502 I bought (customer return) was cheaper than an XLS 1002 (@ 1/3rd power) I promise not to turn it up to max
  7. YEAH! Do I hear $26? Actually, if I do sell them they will come with K-691 drivers Tried them with Forte's, but the Forte's just were outmatched by these horns. So; trying them with 18" JBL bass-bins ... but don't have enough power ... new amp coming next week
  8. OK; my 2 cents Yes, fatiguing thread going back to 2017 No clue why some people complain about the "high" Klisch sound. Haha ... I usually raise my HF's by at least 3dB's. OK; much depends on the actual recording, room and "YOUR" ears. Cheers, Emile
  9. Yes; sorry ... edited the post Was trying to drive the JBL's (SR4718A; 4 ohms, 98dB; 30-3300Hz) with a Marantz 1060 (30Wpc; not sure if more watts at 4 ohms) and just did not get much volume out of them OK ... haha; ordered a Crown XLS 2502 (775wpc at 4 ohms) That should do it And I can set the crossovers with it. But still would like to control the HF side (K-510/K-691's). Maybe I can use the miniDSP, maybe not Cheers, Emile
  10. 0.9V is the output on the miniDSP ... yeah ... sucks ... the Dayton unit has a higher output Add-on ... 3.5V
  11. OK guys ... educate me PLEASE Just checked the wavelength of 38Hz ... it's almost 30 feet! Doesn't it just bounce off and continue ... or does the reflection make the sound bad (i.e. cancelling reflections)? Haha ... just put some JBL 30Hz bass bins in my small stereo "experimentation" room Cheers, Emile
  12. Has anyone bought/used this Dayton Audio DSP-408? See https://www.parts-express.com/dayton-audio-dsp-408-4x8-dsp-digital-signal-processor-for-home-and-car-audio--230-500?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIwJu3pN2E4QIVkoRpCh04Rg2CEAAYASAAEgJwqPD_BwE . Looks interesting Main reason for asking ... currently have a miniDSP 2x4 (NOT the HD version). But my preamp puts out max 20V and this miniDSP is only good for a 2V input (i.e. clipping when I turn my preamp past 10 o"clock ... yes; know I could use an attenuator). The Dayton DSP has "high voltage" inputs, but not sure what that means But, output is only 0.9V (edited ... 0.9V is the output of the miniDSP) ... like to have more for my pro amps. Also not sure if it integrates as easily with REW as the miniDSP. Thanks a lot, Emile
  13. Bruce, Thanks ... may have to tap your expertise
