  1. @Thaddeus Smith. Just unpacked it and replaced my center 92dB KV2 with this 97dB Yamaha S112IV (blasphemy). Did not change any volume settings so the "new" center obviously is louder yes; overpowering my L/R/surrounds - KG3.2's and 1.5's on an Onkyo RZ810. (Wanted to try it this way to see what it will be like with my 904's ... next hour ). First impression; very nice clear, defined sound, good range. Only tried it a low volume (wife is working in the office). Nice large horn (2" VC; 1" throat, approx 13x8 outside dimension) ... very musical; doesn't seem to be "in your face," but we'll see what happens at louder volumes First thoughts ... highly recommended as center! More to follow! Anything I should look for in the sound? Cheers, Emile
  2. Replaced my Cornwall's with KPT-904's. So; now using the Cornwall's as rear speakers with a vintage Yamaha CR-620 amp. Awesome! (OK; not really "rears" but reversed 2 channel.) See if you have extra room Cheers, Emile
  3. Awesome looking pair and a decent price.
  4. Used the 14 gauge 4-wire conductor for a front to rear (wall/attic/wall) runs and very satisfied. https://www.monoprice.com/product?c_id=102&cp_id=10239&cs_id=1023902&p_id=2817&seq=1&format=2 . Was looking for some speaker wire for myself so looked for "3 pair wire" also. No luck. Since you need "3 pair," maybe run double "2 pair" in case you want to add a subwoofer next month Cheers, Emile Oops ... just saw the thread was from January and sure you already installed it. Also saw some good advise. Sorry; will check the "date" in the future
  5. Kelly; sorry for your loss and for the "unfriendly" introduction here. But ... have to give you one more explanation. We often see "newbies" on this site who have found some Klipsch speakers for almost nothing at garage sales, etc. Then they try to get BIG $$'s for their find here since most of us Klipsch "nuts" frequent this site. Be assured, just about all members here are very honorable and honest people - on this site to assist others. Equipment here is usually offered "way below" eBay prices as we want "our stuff" to have a good home, rather than making a quick buck. Hope this helps. Best wishes, Emile
  6. Have been looking for a while Hopefully picking up a pair of Heresy I's later this week
  7. Haha ...Thanks! Looks like there is potential in this setup. My TV is about 5 ft high, so no problem there ... but monitor will be right in front of the fireplace actually should not be a problem as we only use it a couple of weeks per year (Florida) :). Many thanks! Cheers, Emile
  8. Well; lost this action by $2.00 ... good price ($144) but glad I "lost." Did not really need another monitor to test Cheers, Emile
  9. Darn ... thanks anyhow. Will do $140 on eBay just because it "might be pretty good." And can probably sell it on CL for $50 if I don't like it Cheers, Emile
  10. @Thaddeus Smith ... sorry to "bug" you, but did you try your 15" Yamaha as a center? eBay auction is still at $125 with only 2 hrs to go. No problem paying $150 (if it sounds good to you) even though I already bought a 12' Yamaha monitor Many thanks; cheers, Emile
  11. Looks like they have a second listing also But shipping seems like a rip off
  12. Oops ... good catch ... did not see that. Still seems like a great buy for some of our friends at this forum Cheers, Emile
  13. Just FYI ... RP-280F's for $169 each at Adorama ... https://www.adorama.com/us 944546.html ... normally about $600 each. Not familiar with these but seems like an awesome buy and they are the "Premier" speakers. FYI ... found these as a member pointed out they also had LS' Anniversy speakers for about $1000 less than Klipsch Cheers, Emile
  14. OK; just got REAL badges from member Skelt to replace may fake Chinese ones Keep the lawyers away Sorry for the bad pic
  15. Thanks! Guess you just saved me $7000. My wife (out of town this week) thanks you Cheers, Emile
  16. Jeez ... found them on Adorama ... $7000 for the pair ... $1000 less than the standard LS's from Klipsch They are absolutely stunning. Thinking about it But not sure if they would sound any better than my KPT-904's which I got a helluva lot cheaper. Cheers, Emile
  17. Hi @Xero-Space Welcome to the forum of Klipsch nuts. Sorry; NO. Had a set for a year and lived "through" it. Switch to Klipsch Heritage speakers Cheers, Emile
  18. Yeah ... could be easily done. Mentioned the Parts-Express box to make it WAF acceptable - with veneer
  19. Too late ... my 12" (also series IV) just shipped Just kidding ... Yeah; let us know. Maybe we can start a "new approach" for centers (And if your wife likes it, pick up the cheap 15" one off eBay ... duratex; not rat fur ) Cheers, Emile
  20. OK ... "blasphemy" ... but going to try a Yamaha S112 as a center (Do have 6 pair of Heritage and Cinema speakers though ) Cheers, Emile
  21. Bet you it will be better Should have my 12" later this week and will let you know. Cheers, Emile
  22. @Oicu812 ... you LUCKY guy No clue on the CF's, but did own KG5.5's and wasn't too impressed. Yes, boomy, but the sound did not come close to my Forte's or Cornwall's. FYI, $250 is extremely cheap for a decent pair of Heresy's ... picking up a set later this week for $400 with a BLOWN tweeter @kvndoom ... yes; quite a bit of Klipsch speakers here in Florida. Unfortunately most are way overpriced. And yes ... loved my KG4's ... finally got rid of them because I now have 7 pair of Klipsh speakers Cheers, Emile
  23. If anyone is interested ... 15" Yamaha on eBay ... brand new, but damaged on the front ... $125 with 8 hours left ... Parts-Express has a box for it (pretty sure ... did not calculate volume/etc) ... https://www.parts-express.com/pa-knock-down-trapezoid-plywood-speaker-cabinet-for-15-driver--245-326 https://www.ebay.com/itm/Yamaha-CM15V-15-Passive-Floor-Monitor-Black/132614102628?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649
  24. Wondering if anyone uses PA speakers for HT. Found several interesting articles that indicate superior sound for minimal $$. Of course WAF is 0/10 but maybe a good solution for the garage or the man-cave Here is an article on cheap Monoprice speakers ... http://www.avsforum.com/forum/89-speakers/2553793-monoprice-15-passive-pa-speaker-review.html ... actually they're only $99 now ( or $110 powered). Of course there are many better PA speakers ... and most are MUCH cheaper than WAF walnut boxes. Now; my explanation for looking at PA speakers. Have KPT-904's in my TV room and absolutely love them (horns have 3" diaphragms wit a 2" throat ... unbelievable ). OK; they are hooked up to a Marantz 2252b; not my AVR. AVR has KG3.5's (will replace those with Heresy's later this week ), KG1.5's and a horizontal center speaker. (Also Cornwall's in the rear on a seperate Yamaha CR-620 amp.) Problem was with the center speaker ... Only have 7 inches between the TV and a lower shelf (over the fireplace). So; "best I could do was a KV2. Not very good. So; got another KV2 and hooked it up parallel. Maybe better; maybe not More reading showed that a "horizontal" center is more about "good looks" vs good sound. A vertical center similar to L/R is the way to go But, no way my wife would let me put another KPT-904 in the room - certainly not in front of her fireplace So, bought an (almost new) Yamaha S112IV off Reverb.com (97dB, 46lbs, 60-16kHz, 2" horn diaphragm) for $150 delivered; new retail about $350-400. Yes, my wife will hate it (it has the "rat fur" covering ), but if it sounds good, Parts-Express has a pre-cut box of almost identical dimensions that I can use ... and walnut veneer to get a 10/10 WAF. May have to put a Klipsch logo on it when finished Let me know if I am crazy Cheers, Emile
