Awesome record 1968? But room mate in college 1972-79 (OK; did not take me 7 years to get a Bachelor's ... got some advanced degrees ) played it 24hrs/day. Still think it is one of the best albums ever

No; Florida. Lived/worked in OH (Power Plants ... NO; did not work on Three Mile Island /MA (Boston Consulting)/CA (Apple)/VA (Factory automation) ... Thin blood now ... have to stay in FL
-
Robert Shaw; Atlanta Symphony ... Awesome. have some other versions also
-
Just Kendall Jackson Chardonnay ... have to finish the case before my wife gets home from shopping in NY Next on my TT is Beethoven's 9th or Chuck Mangione ... or Jimi Hendrix. Guess I like a wide variety
-
OK; did "Super Session" (Mike Bloomfield, Al Kooper, Steve Stills ... major album when I was in College many years ago ... not too many people recognize it anymore ) 2nd bottle of wine and switched to Handel's Messiah ... AWESOME on Cornwall's

A vs B and C takes on the winner

Not sure Do I have to power off the tube amp before I disconnect ... or can I leave it on with "no load?" Thanks -
A vs B and C takes on the winner

Hi muel, "Beginner" question ... Know these types of switches work with SS amps, but can I use this with a tube amp also? Have read that tube amps HAVE TO BE CONNECTED or Do not know if tube amps "blow" if they loose their speaker connection. Cheers, Emile -
Great score! Let me know when you get evicted and I'll pick them up from you.

Just started with Klipsch speakers (except my Cornwall's which I've had for 35 years). So; can only pick from my LIMITED PERSONAL collection 1. Cornwall I's 2. Forte I's 3. Chorus II's 4. KG4's 5. KG5.2's
-
Sorry, but believe my Klipsch speakers do not belong in a truck .. closed SUV is the absolute minimum
-
Guess it's confirmed that we are all "sick."
-
Jachko, Take your time to get some of these (great) speakers. I bought about six pair of Klipsch speakers during the last year ... "just had to get them" and found out later i paid way too much Patience will save you money AND get you much better speakers Cheers, Emile

Pretty good deal ... but be careful Got a pair of these about a month ago from some "rapper / hip-hop guys" in a parking lot. They looked good so I paid them, but both woofers were "shot" (overextended). Guess they like "their music" extremely loud. Better to pay an extra $50-100 to audition speakers Cheers, Emile

Originally $450, now $575? Tell him to stick it up his ***. Obviously a crooked seller You'll fine more Forte's ... just be patient
-
At 80 W/ch you should be fine with any Klipsch speaker. Recommend KG4's or Forte's WITH Crites' diaphragms. Also ... strongly recommend hooking up a second vintage amp (such as a Marantz 22** series) to your setup to get "real sound." Cheers, Emile

What an a**hole
-
AWESOME. Down to 18 Hz ... I am shaking right now
-
Forgot to tell ... BLASPHEMY ... it sounded very good so I put a Klipsch decal on it Sure I'm going to loose some points for this
-
Holy **** ... 18Hz??? Hook it up and let us know And like @dtel MINUS points Please get your priorities straight ... unpack; open a bottle of wine; test it; then let us "drool." Just kidding; congrats on your new sub.
-
Awesome ... what the hell is it? FYI; still looking for a decent subwoofer. Had a JBL 12" 400W subwoofer, but it sounded like crap Bought a passive box off CraigsList (about 6 cuft) put in an M&K woofer and the JBL plate amp and now it's pretty good for music (instead of just good for movie "explosions.) Cheers, Emile

Think (hope ) we all love our Klipsch speakers too much to make that mistake ... but ... a couple of glasses of wine; new boards; have to screw them in NOW ...

Three Forte IIIs purchased, now need Amp match
Emile replied to Mike V's topic in 2-Channel Home Audio
Suggest a dual amp setup. For example ... a Marantz SR5011 (cheapest) WITH a LINE OUT. Use the "line out" to feed a vintage amp (such as a Marantz 22** series) and you will get much better sound from your Forte's (at least from L/R ). I am using this in my TV room. Onkyo AVR with Klipsch KG5.2's, 3.2's, 1.5's, and a KV2 center ... PLUS Cornwall's via a Marantz 2252B. Originally had my Cornwall's hooked up to the AVR ... AWFUL/LOUSY (Yes; did have to add additional AVR front speakers ... but since we are all crazy, you've probably got "extra's.") Cheers, Emile -
Got new crossover boards for my Cornwall's from Bob. Yes; velcro. Did not think it was secure, so "screwed" them in (similar to the old boards). Planning (not 100% sure yet) on replacing the boards in my Forte's. Any reason not to screw them in?

Thought I (we) might be able to assist negotiating this by offering him a $100
