  1. Haha; understand But look at the cost over the life of the unit. $500 over 5 years (or more) is only 25 cents a day Haha, go for the 75" one ... or the QLED ... or the OLED Cheers, Emile
  2. Hi Rick, welcome to the forum. Not sure I understand ... one box is great, but BOTH mids are shot? Oops; looked up KG-2.5's and understand (Thought they had a woofer, a mid and a tweeter; no ... 2x woofers.) @jjptkd suggestion was probably best ... the listing on eBay says "local pick-up," but seller may be willing to take the woofers out and ship those to you for a little extra money. Or, call 1-800-klipsch and check if they have replacements ... sometimes their price is reasonable ... sometimes not Let us know where you are located. I'm sure some members here are willing to do some searches for you. Cheers, Emile
  3. Well, that would be a new experience. All "local" purchases I have made via CraigsList or OfferUp, I have always paid the seller to drop their stuff off at my house. Please send me a PM with details before I commit to this. Emile
  4. Haha ... No; won't have the K-691's till this coming Friday Just wanted to hook them up without going through the hassle of setting the active xovers
  5. Add-on ... yes; understand that I cannot hookup a tweeter without a xover and "blowing it." But ... seems the K-691's go pretty "low." Just want to try them w/o a xover ... will be carefull; no "full volume."
  6. "Beginner's" question. Thanks to Klipsch and AHall, I'll have an other nice set of 510/691's soon Yes, will properly hook them up (haha, later ??) with correct crossovers But, of course I'm impatient ... can I just hook them up to my amp (without the proper xovers) to try them WITHOUT doing any harm?? Thanks a lot, Emile
  7. Haha ... yes they come down to Florida in the winter and complain about the hot weather. Plus they are lousy tippers
  8. Haha ... OK; meant "disregard" post. Actually like Canadiens Haha ... changing title
  9. Anyone actually tried calling Klipsch for these?
  10. Bon appetit ... sorry; could not resist But, I do know that Canadian distributors DO sell the horns by themselves (had ordered a pair). They just will not ship to the US. So; if you know someone in Canada that is willing to "trans-ship," it may be possible Add-on ... distributor I found was Gentec International, Ontario ... they are on the web
  11. Haha When I called them they had three of these 131027 models. So there possibly is ONE left. However, the guy I talked to (who was not familiar with these) said they had three different models ... painted AND ??? AND ???. So they have "more;" just do not know what they are.
  12. Haha ...OK; never understood "mumps." Do these have mumps? Thanks, Emile
  13. OK, present from Klipsch ... K-510 horns, part number 131027. Seems lighter than my original horns ... plastic instead of cast ... redesigned?
  14. OK; have a glass of wine and test speakers "A." Open another bottle and test speakers "B." If "B" is better than "A," have another glass of wine. If "A" is better than "B," you are drinking cheap wine and should switch to something better. Problem solved Cheers, Emile
  15. OK; getting the K-691's from Adam ... haha; IF my package contains 510 horns. Bid on some EV DH1A's on FleaBay. Thought I could get them for $100 ... nah ... almost $200 with shipping ... not worth if after "your" reviews Nice weather here in Florida ... bit hot; it's 86F outside ... jeez 88F in the house ... yes, AC is out ... diagnosis of course a PC board ... if we're lucky they can replace it tomorrow ... if not, Monday/Tuesday/who knows Time for some cold Chardonnay Cheers, Emile
  16. And he is sooo "boaring." Who pays him for his "reviews?"
  17. Thanks Dude Yes; am a bit cheap on this as i am just trying a set of 510's with drivers in a separate room. (Have 510/DE75's in my main system.) So; just "playing." Made a member an offer on K-691's ... also found DE750's for $150 each ... and HAHA a pair of EV DH1A's for $100. For "others" that were interested in the 510 horns ... package will arrive tomorrow. It's 8 pounds, so I'm pretty sure it does have horns in it Cheers, Emile
  18. Adam, thank you very, very much for doing all this extra work Awesome PM send.
  19. Found some B&C DE750 drivers on eBay for $150 each. Any good? Not sure if these are the successor to the DE75 or??? Thanks, Emile Add-on ... these are 16 ohm units ... still have no clue whether to use 8 or 16 ohms
  20. Yeah ... "lost." Now I don't even know if I should get 8 or 16 ohm drivers Anyone? Thanks! @AHall ... Adam, the K-691's are they 8 or 16 ohms? Thanks!
  21. OK; now I am REALLY LOST Are you saying the Klipsch K-691 driver is a "rebranded" B&C DE750???? (Not much negativity ... but most seem to prefer the B&C ... doesn't make any sense if they are the same ) Please advise. Many thanks, Emile Add-on ... maybe I was comparing "older" horns with the K-69 vs the B&C Add-on #2 ... per MetropolisOutfitters about a year ago ... "The K-691 is in fact a rebranded B&C 75, they had them at the factory right next to each other. They'd get inspected, then a sticker put on. I've been told in the past that it's actually slightly modified, that the diaphram is hardened. Also been told that a sticker simply gets put on and that's it, so I'm not sure. "
  22. Just found this (older) thread ... with a lot of good info One of the recommendations is for ElectroVoice EV DH1A drivers ... "good" AND "cheap." OK; now I'm pretty much "lost."
