    Cooling!

Hmm...I see, so big fans seem to tend to be better in cfm vs dba, so what about bearing type? ball bearing or sleeve bearing? I heard go ball bearing, but I wanted to make sure... -Gxcad c>f>

    The Best Case

Hey Steve, what exactly are the difference between the 6890 and 6896? All I can gather is that the 6896 uses a 120mm fan instead of 2 80mm fans, and that the 6890 has one more external 5'1/4 bay. Also, anyone know how to add db? as in "one fan makes 33db and another makes 34db, how loud are they combined?" kinda thing? thanx. -Gxcad c>f>

    Cooling!

Hey, now I'm looking into case fans, particularly 80mm but also one 90mm and one 120mm fan. #1 priority is quietness, and although I assume it doesn't get much quieter than 30db, I would like to see if anyone can offer me better for 80mm fans. How much junk would I need to have in my case to expire 330W of powersupplie? Hehe....just anxious, big upgrade coming up in 5 months or so -Gxcad c>f>

  6. Hey everyone, I was wondering, I already know how the duron compares to the thunderbird and how the pentium coppermine compares to the celeron 2 but I was wondering how the original celeron compares to the pentium 2 (since I am thinking about replaceing my P2 333 with a 466mhz celeron, I'm thinking no matter how inferior the celeron is a 133mhz speed advantage will make it faster but the fact that the pricetag is a good $45 lower is a little bothering, is the celeron better in this case? how does the celeron compare with the P2 at similar speeds? are there somethings the pentium just does better than the celeron? Although I don't plan to OC either of these chips, if you have any info on OC capabilities between P2 and celeron and are willing to share by all means do so as well thanx.-Gxcad c>f>

  10. I've heard that the ram used on the videocard makes a big difference in overclockability. Hyundai ram is favored but that is all I know. If you are looking for reviews PLEASE TRY ]WWW.NEOSEEKER.COM I promise it won't dissapoint you, great site for looking for reviews. -Gxcad
  11. hey Kblair, soundcards with decodeing onboard have arrived from creative! they are called sblive platinum 5.1, x-gamer 5.1, and mp3+ 5.1. The x-gamer comes with newer games includeing theif2 and ut. As far as I know this is powered by the insanely fast EMU10K1 SPU (new word? hehe ) the reason I say insanely fast is because this chip can match a pentium 90 in performance, without ANY cooling (yea, go overclock your soundcard now) the chip is faster than the sq3500 would of been, but you got 95snr instead of 98snr from the 3500. As far as your videocard I'd recommend Radeon 32mb, these cards don't seem to gain much performance by doubleing available ram but you save a lot of cash! As far as monitor prices being stable remember a 19 inch cost upwards of $1000 just 1.5 years ago (correct me if I'm wrong, please). Even powersupplies might (I hope) go down in price for 400w and above with the realease of power hungry chips like athlon (minimum 250watt, amd approved) and the new pentium 4, due on halloween. Neway those are my advices...RDRAM is way down as well, $170 for 128mb pc 800 if you go eBay. As for monitor, I'd go 21' myself, but thats up to you, infact its all up to you! Don't you need some extreme cooling and overclocking of the ol' noodle? Yea, that might help. Also can find reviews on www.neoseeker.com I'd recommend that site. neway this is way longer than I first intended, laterz -Gxcad
