  1. They look great. Please give us an update when the Fisher 400 is back in service.

Glad you got new diaphragms from Bob and that you're back in business. BTW Today I took my own advice and ordered a K77 diaphragm from Bob.

Often photos of our speakers show background evidence of our vices . . . your first picture certainly does that.

  2. Best Wishes Bob!

April 14th is the date you joined the form. Is it also your birthday?

Much has happened on this date in history, Lincoln was shot, Titanic struck the iceberg, and more, but my memory is nearly taxed. Whether the anniversary of your birth and forum membership, or merely the latter, it's something positive to offset the baggage attached to the date.

    EDIT 4/14 @ 7:37 EDT

I see from Happy Birthday posts in prior years your birthday was 4/13. I hope it was grand.

  3. The CL advertiser said, "I assure you they are perfect so pic is irrelevant"

I disagree. The seller is too busy, lazy, computer challenged, etc. to include a picture, but potential buyers are expected to incur the time and expense to see the speakers on the seller's assurance.

Apparently the IRS needed more than his assurance that he owed no tax.

My brother-in-law got a similar assurance from the mother of his mail order bride. He still regrets it..

An "irrelevant" photo would be better.

  4. I've got one that needs a diaphragm. It's yours (or anyone's) for $60 (shipping included). Send a PM if interested.

Have you considered a pair of CT125s? That's the way I'd go, rather than an excellent K-77/T35 that is hard to find good parts for.

    Good luck whatever you do.

  5. #!

In the Pleistocene age I was a substiute teacher (while in college) at a high school with a student parking lot full of Ferraris, Maseratis, Corvettes and the like. I used to (still do) think it was irresponsible to send teeneagers to school in such cars.

Someone (perhaps Richard Pryor) said, "Cocaine is God's way of telling you you have too much money." This is another way of delivering that message.

This is the typical result of too much car for too little driver.

  6. "As to RS, even a blind squirrel finds a nut now and again.

    Dave

    Dave-

You're absolutely right about Rat Shack. I admit to being heartbroken when they took over the beloved Allied Radio, but I'm glad they're in the neighborhood when I need shrink tubing, a terminal, etc., urgently.

Google "RS-40-1197" to see a long discontinued Rat Shack "full range" driver with a cult following.

  7. Well, I'm buying the Forte II's and that will be the end of it.

Ahhh, the new guy has a sense of humor.

We used to have a KK here in Beaumont, it was right at 10 minutes from the house. I'd pick up a hot dozen for the family and have 9 left by the time I got home.

You made it home with nine? Great self control; seven was my best . . . . . and I live next door.

  8. That was interesting. Thanks for posting the link.

What's with all the white? Is that the Beverly Hills Hertz rental fleet?

I haven't seen that much white in one place since I accidentally crashed a Klan meeting

I'm sure the owners are proud, but the Rolls Royce is FUGLY and the owner of the Porsche Panamera did the impossible, it's now even more unattractive than when it left Deutschland.

I agree with you about the Mercedes. That sounds great, but loud side-exit exhaust gets tiresome quickly. I used to set off car alarms as I drove by.

  9. Does anyone recall the thread with a photo of two "wiener" dogs in buns?

I thought it was in this classic thread, but it's not. I'd forgotten that Parrot was the OP.

It turns out I was incorrectly recalling two dogs. This is the photo I was looking for.

    . . . . now . . . where did I put those memory pills?

  10. My vote is with the graffiti guy.

The graffiti makes the billboard more powerful. It gets your attention better than the same billboard without the graffiti. I even wondered if the billboard was made with faux graffiti already in place. A quick Google search indicates otherwise. Apparently, the graffiti photo has been bouncing around the Internet for some time.
