I am totally good with the mods burying it wherever they want. The people who care will find it, and those who don't will not be bothered by it. I wonder if the mods could kill all the subscriptions I really don't like being a pest no matter what people might think. And if every post in the new location keeps popping up, it is going to annoy some people. If you guys know the mods, let them know.

@boricua2480 I did not think there was anything mean or inappropriate about your post, and I understood the other issues that you raised. It is true that I don't talk much about my setup but that is in part because I am not sure how many people would understand transforming RF-5 into RC-7 and enjoying it. I kind of worry that people would say that I am missing something and demonstrating my inexperience by not getting a pair of the new but already legendary RF-7 iii. So it seems in an add way that others might relate more to wanting an older speaker and not being able to find it. And truth be told, I keep mentioning the CF-4 just in case someone here has a pair that they will part with. As for your CF-4, they were born of hate, and if you hated to part with them, that would be poetic justice. And what could be more sentimental than ending my journey and my endless posts about my quest for a pair of CF-4? Lastly, if you sold them and someone here did not get at least a chance at them, you would be confronted by a concerted cascading chorus of complete and comprehensive condemnation of your character by the collective crew here (that alliteration is from my first year professor in law school that I still remember 28 years later - my classmate and friend leaned over to me and said "holy alliteration batman") that would follow. This last paragraph was one of those jokes that don't read like jokes. I hope you least let them out on occasion and listen to them.

I think that in a forum like this you have to give every statement about you the most generous interpretation possible. A lot of humor gets lost in the translation, and every mildly critical post can appear to be harsh. At the same time, even humor often has a purpose, so I also try to consider that kind of thing from the perspective of other people. I think that we all want to contribute, and sometimes what we have to contribute is more interesting to ourselves than to others. Thank God for the Coffee and Cocktails thread or we would all be driving each other nuts. I was to excited to find this place that at first I put up way to many posts that were either duplicative or asked things that I could find out if I looked a little harder, and when people told me that I realized that they were right and mostly stopped it. I still don't fully understand all of the the community standards, and I am sure that when I get them wrong, people will let me know. My impression is that everyone here is genuinely nice and shares a passion. I would never be offended by anything that anyone said, even if they were trying to offend me.

Rick I would really hate to have just one CF-4. Kind of like having a girlfriend and finding out she is a guy. I also have to say that I have some concerns about transporting them from Arizona even on a pallet. I am still trying to get some info about that. If he decides to let go and I can't resolve my shipping concerns, I would be happy to hook you up with him, but I am sure he would only sell the pair. That said, I have to wonder if the CF-4 series 1 might put up a good fight to replace the Forte II, and then you would have CF-4 across the front. In the meantime, I looked at the Academy centers once, and a lot of people told me to keep the RC-7 because they were way better. If you have not considered them, you might. It is hard for to imagine LR speakers that an RC-7 could not keep up with. They are my favorite speaker that I have ever had.

The thing is that every single person who has one with whom I have communicated has said that the CF-4 are the best speakers they have ever had. I mean come on back, I have a guy who has been serious about audio for 43 years and has gone through all kinds of super expensive and supposedly super great speakers and he almost can't let his CF-4 out of his hands. I don't mean some of the people, I mean all of them. In the meantime I have a perfectly fine system based around my favorite speaker that I have ever owned, the RC-7. So I am not hurting while i wait. But a La Scala would just be bigger and something I would have to settle for. I also have company in my quest for them. As for my posts, I actually see humor in both my fixation on them and the way that life seems destined to prevent me from actually getting my arms around them. If people here really don't care, then I will gladly quit. But given the responses, it does seem like some people care and may find humor in them. At least one person scored a pair as a result. And he drove 8 hours each way to get them including across South Dakota in January. When people complain about posts on forums, it always baffles me. I mean no one makes them read the posts, and the subject usually leaves no question about what to expect. I would think that only someone who wants a pair themselves would bother. Don't get me wrong. I take your post seriously and if other people agree with you, I will stop. I did not take any offense at your post in case you might be concerned about that. I really don't want to waste anyone's time here, although one might argue that much of what is said here is a waste of time in a sense, even if it is a fun waste of time and many levels above TV. So thanks for your post, and I will see what others say.

The interesting thing is how far the science has progressed. Oddly your comment that getting older will resolve the issues seems not to be the case. There are some warring camps about what ADHD is, but we do know that amphetamines will treat it. Amphetamines have their effect both as speed and for ADHD because they are a powerful dopamine and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor. What that means is that they increase the levels of dopamine and norepinephrine in the brain by preventing them from being reabsorbed. Other neurotransmitters are involved as well but seem less important. In other words, ADHD is caused by having too many dopamine and norepinephrine reuptake neurotransmitters. Seen this way, it is a chemical imbalance in the brain, and the only way to stop it is with chemicals. That said, a successful approach requires more than drugs, but it does require drugs. Compounding the problems is the fact that everyone performs better on amphetamines. So figuring out who needs meds can get political. In my own life, I know the the meds solve problems not make me superman. The same is true of my son, whose diagnosis led to my own. ADHD is still a horribly undertreated disorder for lots of reasons, but I encourage everyone to see it as a chemical imbalance and to seek an evaluation if they have questions. If I had been diagnosed as a kid, my life would have been very different.

And of course things take another turn. The guy in Phoenix selling the CF-4 pair and I have become something of friends, and he sent me an email about how hard it is to sell them. Said he has been serious into audio for 43 years and gone through hundreds of speakers. He kept getting something great expecting it to be better than the CF-4. Said he bought a pair of JBL Array 1400 speakers for a ton of dough, but had to admit that the CF-4 were better. Last year it was Duevel Venus omnidirectional speakers, whatever the heck they are, and they failed to live up to the CF-4 either. Now he is after some Gershman Avante Gardes and needs to make room. What on earth are all these speakers? Anyway, he said that he will be miserable if the new ones fall short again. He never said he changed his mind or was backing out. He discussed shipping in the same email, and I just can't him doing that. So I sent him an email back and said just keep the CF-4 until you get these fancy new speakers and see what you think. If you like them and want to sell the CF-4, I'll shoot you money right away. But I told him that I would feel horrible if he sold them and had nothing to replace them. Weird, I guess, but I am just that way. So I will wait to see what he says. There have to be more out there.

It supposedly is not the loss of blood but the vagus response. I had a period where I was getting my blood taken a lot, like every 2 days, and I fell onto the little table and passed out twice. Then thee next time I totally passed out and fell onto the floor. When they finally got me starting to regain consciousness it annoyed me because it felt so wonderful. And then when I was alert I noticed that there was crowd and a stretcher. My doctor told me that I was a "lay down" for all blood tests after that. And I was for about 20 years, but had my blood taken the other day and I sat up with no problems. It is funny how we can be susceptible to something like that, and we all have something. Next time the mobile blood suckers come around give them a pint for me.

I saw plenty of doctors, just not very smart ones. I did not give blood last week. I tend to pass out when they take my blood.

I could not agree more. I have seen more doctors all my life than make sense. My mom was an RN and half the family friends were doctors. I came to the attention of all my schools, and nothing. Then again I grew up in Idaho. Not exactly the most enlightened place on the planet. The funny thing is that once it was diagnosed, it made complete sense out of my trainwreck of a life. And literally everyone I have told responds with "I could have told you that," to which I reply "Then why the hell didn't you." The drugs really do make a difference. Fixes an imbalance in the brain. But that is only part of it. Just as people have commented about health, out past catches up with us, and I have a lifetime of bad habits that no drug can stop. Just because I have more focus does not mean is goes where it should. If any of you have kids and the question comes up, take it seriously and have them evaluated. Don't get worried about the drugs. They are necessary, and we have been taking them for over a century. In fact they were over the counter for the longest time.,

My doctor has been harassing me to get healthy now that I am 50. Dang, he has been y doctor for 25 years. He told me that the defining difference between the 80 year olds he sees who are spry and alert, and those who are frail and sick is whether they walk. He said give him 2 miles a day, and I won't get old the American way. So I make it 6, and I don't care if it is raining or freezing as it has been of late. We had snow in Seattle today, which is rare. He told me to change my diet too, and he said that the key was to still make great tasting food. He said that no one is going to stick with a cardboard diet, and food that is good for you can taste good. And so now I am making dinner instead of ordering it (my wife does not like to cook, and her food shows it). It sounds like you are on a great program. Keep it up, except for the coffee part.

Hey first of all, I do have ADHD. Not diagnosed until I was 50 when my kid was diagnosed, but still. The drugs help, just can't get enough of them. So actually I am very toned down these days. And don't confuse going in a whole bunch of directions at the same time with being able to walk and chew gum at the same time.

Hey that guitar really is beautiful. I am not even a guitar guy, just love the wood.. I am new here too, but I gotta ask you to stick around. Right now, I get the strange looks and people wondering what I am thinking. A diversion would be wonderful. But they are going to see that my 32 inch subwoofer makes sense.

@ZEUS121996 I put quite a bit of time and effort into putting together the set that we have now, and I have to say that to our impression, it is great, It is so much better than what we had before that I cannot imagine another improvement of that significance. I don't want to spin my wheels changing to another setup and not see any real difference. However, those dang CF-4 keep calling to me. If I could find a set for $400 like the ones in South Dakota, that would simplify things. The thing that does need to be replaced is the subwoofer. I finally see the PB2 Plus as the dead end it is.If my 32 inch driver experiment works out, then that will be fixed until the house fall down. And when the price goes back down on my TV, the whole thing may just be leave it alone territory, and I can look at 2 or 3 channel for music. So I get your point, but you have to remember that not everyone has your experience and knowledge.

Not sure if you are talking to @EpicKlipsch or me, but he is in Germany, and it has been a matter of logistics. TransAtlantic shipping is a *****. As for me, I finally found a pair of CF-4 that is not a scam, not in the middle of South Dakota, and not already sold to someone else. I am in the process of getting them. Aside from the broken pair on eBay, they are literally the first CF-4 that I have been able to arrange to buy. Given that the CF-4 appear to slightly rarer than 5-legged unicorns, it seems to make sense to consider other options. I could tell you almost any detail about the CF-4 even though I have heard them only once and never had one. But when it comes to KLF-30 and Tangent 500, I dfon't know jack. They kind of look like the idea of a CF-4, so I ask around. I do not know why I chose such an elusive speaker, but I did. In the meantime, I also have put together a lovely if somewhat unusual system with an RC-7 center, 2 RF-5 towers that have RC-7 tweeters and crossovers, RS-7 surrounds and RC-7 centers with RF-5 tweeters as back surrounds. I have this monster of a PB2 Plus subwoofer that I have finally realized is showing its age, which is why I am building one or two 32-inch subwoofers. I ordered those drivers from China and they should be on a boat by now. I would call that putting my big boy pants on and going out and getting something. Hey, you don't happen to have a pair of CF-4s do you? You could solve both of our problems real quick.

I know nothing about the Tangent series. Before the CF-4, but fascinating. There was a post here in 2010 by a guy who could get some for $150, and @billybob said "Get them, have had them, worth it. No compare with 5.5, different animal which I have." Don't recognize other commenters, but it was described as "a Heresy II on steroid," "a heresy variety with a passive 12" radiator kind of speaker that are a bit rare," "a step up into what i prefer in a klipsch 3 way in the klipsch heritage series." and "a simple big brother to the kg 5.5." Never heard the CF-4 described that way. So what are they, and are they worth $500?

Wow @dirtmudd that was a very special treat. Only saw Dylan in concert once, and we could not understand a word he said. He was with Tom Petty, and it was not the system. But those were great. Not a huge White Stripes fan, but now I have t have 3 more cups of coffee just out of respect for Burdon, Dylan and Plant. Bless you.

Well another win by UNC and another stab in the back to Kansas. He was an unwanted and unappreciated assistant coach as UNC, and we rescued him, gave him a job and all the college girls he wanted. We made him famous and gave him great players, and then he sold us out for some plantation and 50 slaves in North Carolina. Seriously, I ran into Williams a few times while I was at Kansas, and he was just as much the decent, standup guy in person as he seems to be on TV. What a decent guy and an amazing coach. When he took the chance to go back to UNC and replace Dean Smith, not many people in Kansas held it against him. Can't help but cheer for him,

Yeah, I grew up in Idaho and we always had a water softener but the tap water bypassed it. Eastern Co seems dicey because next to Kansas, and Southern Arizona gets water that has been used 20 times. I imagine that Co Springs is good, but never heard the same for NY. I went to college and my wife and I went to law school at the University of Kansas and the water their was utterly horrible. Just wretched. Good water is so great, it's a shame that we have messed so much of it up. It probably won't surprise you that I don't believe in working with what I have. I want to work with what I want.
