  1. I've followed many discussions within different forums surrounding capacitor brands. Sonicaps seem to be the common preference although, following other forums from other non-Klipsch sites I see Jantzen, Claritycap, Audyn True Copper caps, etc. I already anticipate a variety of responses to this general question knowing this is relative to ones listening preferences ... or is it?

I also wonder, does a particular brand of capacitor vary depending on speaker model? For example, would the Heresy have a particular brand preferred over the Khorns since Khorns are obviously much greater in sound reproduction?

Awhile back I bought new Sonicap capacitors within the Klipsch Forum and rebuilt a set of AL-2's. I am now seeking the best replacements for a pair of AA crossovers.

I am merely seeking the best sound reproduction from within the world of Capacitors. Cost is not my concern rather, QUALITY!

no pictures , in storage ,  yeah , who knows what these look like

Actually, I do. I went and looked at them today and they are sweeeet! In fact a mighty fine example of one owner, well kept speakers. I've been waiting on this one.

Just before I met the guy at his air conditioned storage facility he had them up on saw horses and was polishing them up when I arrived. I will post pictures sometime after hauling them home tomorrow.

  4. I've been collecting the classic old Marantz's for years. The old boy that did all my restorations (for a great many years) recently died. I have a perfectly good working 2270 that I'd like to have gone through. Of course I realize this will need to be nicely packaged and mailed away. If anyone knows of a GOOD PROFESSIONAL RELIABLE Marantz specialist that they could refer me to, I'd be appreciative.

    Thanks

What I did when I did my Jub build was, I bought 2 of Bob Crites's brackets and then built a little platform to go under the bracket.

Also built a little trough to hold the bottom of the front of the lens.

The brackets are $24 for the pair.

Yes, that is definitely a logical approach you offer. I prefer staying with the Klipsch OEM as this particular pair of speakers I have already has one set of OEM brackets. I will supply the speaker without with duplicates.  Thank you for your comment.
