  1. Adorama has black label f-300's for 299.00 a pair. Better hurry sale ends at noon EDT. https://www.adorama.com/kpf300b2.html?emailprice=t&utm_source=slth&email=wetowne@gmail.com&utm_medium=email&guid=C4CC579E-703F-4F1F-B83F-8E938D7A4382&utm_term=SLBestseller4&utm_content=Body&utm_campaign=19961832_200408-48hrs-sale-last-chance-default_SL2B-BAI-Sony-Recent&sv_svemi=C4CC579E-703F-4F1F-B83F-8E938D7A4382&utm_source=slth
  2. The difference between the SA34A and A10 is that the SA34A is wired to use 12AX7 preamp tubes and the A10 is wired for 6N2 tubes. Socket adapters are available for using one type with the other. I own the A10 and use adapters that I got on ebay allowing me to use 12AX7 tubes giving me more opportunities for "tube rolling". There are very few options when using 6N2 tubes. I think the SA34A is a better choice, at the time of my purchase of the A10 I was unaware of the availability of the SA34A. I've had mine for 6 months now with no issues and have used it with Heresy I and Heresy III speakers. It is very very good sounding to my ears and build quality is quite nice too. I would not hesitate to buy another one.
  3. Or near the end of December with 0193 as the unique number.
  4. May 10 2018, the 193rd speaker of the series, that sounds good to me. No way to really verify it but I'm going with it. Thanks for your help.
  5. 2018 would make sense. They're brand new in the box. I think the Matte Black Special Editions just came out in the last few years, just not sure exactly when. These are the ones. https://www.klipsch.com/products/heresy-iii-floorstanding-speaker-blackmatte
  6. I just picked up a nice pair of Heresy III Matte Black Special Editions. I was curious about the date of manufacture. I can't find any info on late model serial numbers anywhere. I can't make any sense of this one at all. 106748518510193 Anyone here know? Does anyone at least know when the Matte Black SE was introduced. Thanks.
  7. Interesting thread. So this does work with Android and Chromecast Audio. How about Android and Volumio on a Hifiberry Digi Pro? If it does I'll have to try it. If it works well Maybe I'll dump Tidal.
  8. As an alternative to the Tidal app you can use BubbleUpnP. Connect to their server that way and you don't see any of their front end crap, just folders that you can browse. See only what what you want to.
  9. I can recommend Musical Paradise gear for those wanting to get into tubes on a budget. My Fortes and this one are a match made in heaven. The construction quality is very good for the price and mine sounds amazing with upgraded KT88 Gold Lions. http://www.musicalparadise.ca/store/index.php?route=product/product&path=59&product_id=54
  10. Thanks for the info and suggestions. I do appreciate it.
  11. Any Heresy III owners happen to know the angle in degrees that the sloped risers provide? I've been experimenting with speaker placement with my Heresy Is and do notice an improvement when I angle them back. I'm just using books to prop them up for now but I'm thinking of a more permanent solution. Just wondering what the actual specs are.
  12. Well I fired them up today no problem. Using a six watt tube amp and they sound great. These things love tubes.
  13. I'm waiting on Amazon to deliver some banana to spade adapters so I can wake 'em up and hear how they sound after all that time in the closet.
  14. These are the oiled walnut with the risers. I paid a little extra at the time.
  15. I'm still happy with my Fortes after 33 years.
  16. I got 'em when I bought my first house. My son and daughter-in-law just bought their first house this week and these will be a house warming gift. I hope they like them.
  17. Bought these new in 1977 retired them in 1985 when I upgraded to Fortes. I just dragged them out of the back of my closet today after 33 years. Amazing what a little vacuuming and some Old English scratch cover will do.
  18. Klipsch figured out how to get more bass from the Heresy back in the eighties, It's called the Forte.
