Parts Express. I did them almost five years ago. The replacements certainly did no harm as the speakers still sound great. The rest of the caps are original.

My best short answer to "When to recap?" is whenever you feel the urge. Do you need to? Probably not.

Try the Monoprice ones. They're cheap enough and they work very well.

I replaced the 47uf 100v caps on the woofer section of my 1986 Klipsch Fortes purely on the assumption that electrolytic caps that old should be replaced. The speakers sounded fine before and after, no appreciable difference. Old caps checked out fine after testing. Take away what you will from that.

I tried Amazon HD. I dropped it after the three months free trial that was offered to me at product launch. I didn't like the available selections. I listen mainly to old jazz records and classical. Stuff that was available on Tidal was lacking on Amazon. Also it was a pain for me to stream as it was incompatible with my Volumio based streamer. Maybe it's better now, I don't know. I have been a very happy camper with Tidal and have been a subscriber for years now.

I did. What you have done with those RF7s is quite a feat. I can only imagine that they must sound amazing with those Cayin amps.

Do they get brighter if you leave it on for awhile? Also just for grins and giggles try running the power on display demo that's shown on page 1 in the manual.

Are those led's or fluorescent? If it's florescent it's probably a bad cap in the power supply.

Not really, because those are a tight fit. 16ga zip cord completely fills the hole and requires some force to insert.

The problem is not speaker sensitivity it's your amplifier's input sensitivity that's at issue. The A10's input sensitivity is 750 millivolts meaning that's the input level needed to drive the amp to full output. Your cd player is probably outputting around 2 volts so you don't need to turn the volume up fully to hit the maximum while playing cd's. Your turntable is obviously putting out less than 750 millivolts that's why your speakers are not very loud. You need a preamp. I have the A10 amp and with enough voltage at the inputs it should be more than adequate to drive either the Snells or the Klipsch.

I lied a little. I do use lamp cord with banana plugs with my budget system. My other two systems I use Sewell Silverback 12ga cables with bananas. My only experiment with semi-exotic speaker cable was years ago. I got some Tara Labs "Space and Time Phase II" cables. They use solid core Australian copper, the negative lead or "return" as they call it has an extra conductor in it and you're supposed to make sure you install them in the direction indicated by the arrows on the insulation jacket. I believe that have a patent on the design however they were discontinued years ago. While they sounded good I couldn't hear a nickel's worth of difference between them and 16ga lamp wire. Good thing I got them at a steep discount. I still have them. I should put them up on eBay.

I can't offer an opinion as to comparisons but I can tell you that my little AXA25 sounds great with my Heresy 1s. I think it was money well spent and I didn't have to spend much. Very detailed yet smooth sounding and more than enough power for efficient speakers. I prefer tubes but still find the axa25 enjoyable.

Not much of a fire hazard really they can arc for years as you know but if you got a gas leak well that's a different story.
