  1. Great looking room HornEd!! Good to see you back here again, you were missed. Also looking forward to the pictures of whatever you come up with for the Ultras placement. Sounds very interesting to say the least. Curt ------------------ Mains: RF-3s Center: RC-3 Rears: RS-3s Sub: Dual SVS 20-39cs Fidek 600 watt pwr amp (subs) Receiver: Onkyo 696 DVD: Toshiba 6200 TV: Mits Diamond WS65907
  2. I have two of the 20-39cs subs and a Mits ws65907 and have no problems. ------------------ Mains: RF-3s Center: RC-3 Rears: RS-3s Sub: Dual SVS 20-39cs Receiver: Onkyo 696 DVD: Toshiba 6200 TV: Mits Diamond WS65907
  3. But that combo will make a killer package!! ------------------ Mains: RF-3s Center: RC-3 Rears: RS-3s Sub: Dual SVS 20-39cs Receiver: Onkyo 696 DVD: Toshiba 6200 TV: Mits Diamond WS65907
  4. All this heated debate makes me wonder.... WHERE IS HornEd???? ------------------ Mains: RF-3s Center: RC-3 Rears: RS-3s Sub: Dual SVS 20-39cs Receiver: Onkyo 696 DVD: Toshiba 6200 TV: Mits Diamond WS65907
  5. Two subs in the same corner won't play any lower but they will play 5 or 6 db louder than one. I think HornEd previously had his subs in different corners but now has his two SVS Ultras in the same corner so he will probably be here to post about his findings as well. I have two of the SVS 20-39cs subs in the rear corner together by the key seating and they sound better there than one in each corner. ------------------ Mains: RF-3s Center: RC-3 Rears: RS-3s Sub: Dual SVS 20-39cs Receiver: Onkyo 696 DVD: Toshiba 6200 TV: Mits Diamond WS65907
  6. I was looking at the Paradigm at one point myself. After lots of listening at various B&Ms I still had to ask myself if I would always be asking myself, WHAT IF????? I took SVS up on their 45 day trial and that was the end of that. Just the deepest cleanest bass I have ever heard. Try e-mailing SVS tech support and ask Tom his opinion. Give him your room measurements and listening preferences and he will tell you straight up how they might compare. Most lines, if not all now, are shipping the same week as the order. I waited for my twin 20-39s for about 5 weeks and it was well worth the wait, though not easy. ------------------ Mains: RF-3s Center: RC-3 Rears: RS-3s Sub: Dual SVS 20-39cs Receiver: Onkyo 696 DVD: Toshiba 6200 TV: Mits Diamond WS65907
  7. Ed, I'm glad to hear they sound that great EVEN before you have had a chance to play with the EQ. Will be waiting for the time in the future when you have the EQ tuned in to hear your evaluation and opinion of that piece of equipment. I've been considering it, but wonder if I have the patience or probably more likely the know how, to properly set it up without causing more problems than good. As you, I still enjoy the sound of the SVS each time I hear them. It is impressive to hear what was there all along, but was never being realized, because of lesser subs before. I am a great salesman every time someone stops by to hear my setup. I also know Klipsch is promising great things in their new line of subs and I am waiting for the first posts from all who try them. ------------------ Mains: RF-3s Center: RC-3 Rears: RS-3s Sub: Dual SVS 20-39cs Receiver: Onkyo 696 DVD: Toshiba 6200 TV: Mits Diamond WS65907
  8. Hello Ed, very glad you like the sound of your Klipsch & SVS combo. I know I was simply stunned the first time, but I was not accustomed to all the bass that you already were starting with. So are you using the SVS by themselves or as a compliment to all the other woofs you were previously using? If so, do they all blend well without cancellations? If not, are the SVS producing more/better bass than the others combined? I haven't tried splitting mine up and have them both in one corner for the db headroom offered. Is yours sounding good in the separate corners, if so I might try this also. Also have you really tweaked them with the ART 351 EQ or just starting out with the basics? As to the ground loop hum, lots of time another piece of equipment is the culprit, most noticeably, in lots of cases, a cable TV box. There are remedies for this at such sites as www.homeautomationnet.com and others if you would prefer not to use a ground adapter. Sorry for all the questions. You are probably much to busy re-watching all your DVD collection now to deal with such an onslaught. Curt
  9. Sorry to hear about your VERY untimely hospital visit. Take care of YOU first. As you probably remember I had an unexpected visit also that resulted in 6 by passes so I can relate. I'm sure we can all wait until you feel properly up to dealing with the smaller things now, like new woofers. Take care, Curt
  10. You will probably get more responses if you post this to the ProMedia section of the forum if you have not already. I have the ProMedia 4.1 system and I can tell you it is worth the time to get them running correctly.
  11. I have Dish Network and true DD or DTS is far and few between. That is the main reason I was so quick to jump on Dolby Pro Logic II. It makes a huge difference for a lot of the shows broadcast in Pro Logic I.
  12. I too would have to be awfully impressed with the new ones to pay the extra money and give up my RF-3s. Of course I won't rule it out until I hear them.
  13. From your earlier posts you were to receive your SVS Ultras today. Are you now just sitting around crying in disappointment or are you just to immersed in killer bass to stop and post? Inquiring minds want to know...at least mine does.
  14. It's not meant to compete with DD or DTS. If either of these are available then you would want to use them. DPL-II is for the older material that was DPL-I to begin with, and it breaths new life into them, be it music or movies. I have Dish Network and there is very little that I can receive as DD or DTS.
  15. I have the Onkyo 696 along with the Klipsch Reference series ( RF-3,RC-3 & RS-3s ) plus two SVS 20-39cs subs with a 600 watt power amp for them. I'm a completely happy camper!! Did the store even have anything with DPLII? I bet his story changes after he has some product. DPL-II is a very big improvement with any source that is DPL-I. It has done wonders with most TV programs that are sent via DPL-I, not to mention music.
