  1. I wonder about the RF-62 and RF-62 II as they are almost the same physical size as the RF-3's and I could buy a RF-62 II The Bandwidth and Sensitivity specs are comparable as well: RF-3 Bandwidth: 37Hz–20kHz±3dB Sensitivity: 98dB @ 1 watt / 1 meter RF-62 II Bandwidth: 35Hz-24KHz ± 3dB Sensitivity: 97dB @ 2.83V / 1m But here again a considerable difference in cross-over frequency: RF-62 : 1800 Hz RF-62 II : 1500 Hz and I can't imagine what difference that makes.
  2. The 'if I can find them' is key here, the same applies for all the older types. I live in Europe so the options are even more limited.
  3. Correct, I have edited it in the original text.
  4. Thank you for the reply and the (for me) interesting picture with the size difference. I'm afraid RF-7's will be too big. The RF-82's are interesting, I will try to find some to audition. What type of woofers did you install in the RF-3's ? Something that surprises me is the radical different cross-over frequencies in the speakers: RF-3 : 1975 Hz RF-5 : 2500 Hz RF-35 : 2600 Hz RF-82 II : 1400 Hz RF-7 : 2200 Hz RF-7 III: 1300 Hz I imagine that must have a considerable impact on the sound. Best regards ... Jef
  5. Hello, Last week I was able to listen to my 20 year old RF-3's again and I really like their sound but they are visually beaten up. I have presently RP-8060 FA's but they sound too refined, the RF-3's give me goosebumps the RP-8060's don't. What would be a good replacement for the RF-3's that have a similar dynamic sound signature ? Would Heresy's or Forte's be a good choice ? Or do I have to look to second hand RF-3's or RF-5's in good condition ? Best regards ... Jef
  6. Eating all those delicious low and some mid frequencies 😁 You can actually check this, play some loud music and touch the cones of the not-playing speakers and feel them vbrate. Some of the vibration is absorbed and others re-emitted.
  7. Hello, as you are listening very critically I hope you are aware that speakers close together will influence each other. Some frequencies are absorbed, depending on the size of the speaker - a kind of a 'bass trap'.
  8. No need to be condescending. When the resistance halves the power should double (using the formulas you quoted: P= U.I etc etc) Not all amplifiers are able to do this, those that can will advertise this clearly in the Specifications of their amplifier. As an example: Got it ?
  9. What are the mathematics to arrive at 275 watts at 4 Ohm ?
  10. I had the RF-3's and R-26FA's. The RF-3's where much better in all respects.
  11. Off course. My RP8060FA's are put in the corner, for music I plug them for HT no plug. You won't damage the speakers, you change the frequency response; with a plug there is less bass volume but the frequency response goes a little bit deeper (I don' use a sub).

  13. In France you can buy them (occasionally) new for 300€, normally 450€ - so 300$ seems OK.
  14. It is absolutely beautiful. There is no need to change IMO, but an idea 😈 would be to give every wire its own hole (except the diodes if you decide keep them after the remarks above) that way all the wires exit perpendicular from their source like the capacitors But again, it is absolutely beautiful. Best regards ... jef

    Klipsch RP5000F

Experiment with different (higher) cross-over frequencies.
  16. Hello, I'm looking at a set of second hand Palladium P-17B's, these speakers have a mid range horn with a passband of (500Hz) 600hz - 3.4kHz This is even lower than the midrange horn of a Heresy (850Hz - 5000Hz) Is the Palladium midrange sound comparable to the Heresy ? Thanks ... Jef
  17. In that case, get rid of the expensive ones and allow your ear and associated psycho acoustics to get used to the speakers you own.
  18. Belgium But that price is representative for a large part of Europe.

  20. Premium here is $7.37 per American Gallon (3.785 liters)
  21. Hello, Are you sure? All my sources connected to Netflix allow to select a stereo stream in the Netlix app itself, you can find it where the different languages are available. Hope this helps.
  22. @Chris A Chris, if I read your graph correctly you measured with a sound volume of 100dB but the distance is not mentioned. As the sensitivity of the Jubilee is around 105db it is reasonable to assume your input power was around 1 Watt maybe a little more. If one is to inject a sine wave of 12Vrms to measure the THD over the frequency range of the R-51M speaker this corresponds to an input power between 18 and 36 Watts (8 to 4 ohm) I'm quite sure that poor tweeter will have a short life in the course of that test. 🙂
