  1. Soooo it all started w/the Beatles so "they" say then everyone else from the UK jumped on board! The Stones have stood the test of time. The early stuff was fantastic with so much heart and emotion going into their records. THEIR message to us! Watching them throughout the years? Yea, those of us that have can sit back and smile as we share stories of the shows. Just look for the flying pig!
  2. Although I never had the chance to meet him. Years ago I knew he was destined to be legendary. The La Scala's just sounded too good to be true and were my dream speakers @ $1500 each. Today they sound even better because those who truly KNEW him, like Chief Bonehead, are carrying his torch. It's not just him though it's everyone at the corporate level standing tall because they know PWK is watching. I'm sure when people talk of him in Hope they're sincere. The economic impact on the area has been realized over time by them. They've seen him work and have seen the results of that work today. The former employees that are members of the forum give testimony all the time. Laffs, quirks and business. There's no doubt those who worked with and for him loved what they did. To me that's a REAL business man. So yup PWK Happy Birthday! We're all smiling because of you!
  3. Gary in my post is just a local dude who's been playing for prolly 50 years. He's just a good friend and the leader of the pack. They're all pushing 60 and have been playing together since they were kids. Every cover of everything they do is great. No improv just the original song the way it was recorded. They do run doin their thang once in a while though. All the guys that are there are the same way. The others play in other central Ohio groups. The bass man played around for a while in Foghat. They rythmn dude also plays keyboards. His son plays the drums. Gary is just a mailman getting ready to retire. The real treat is when this dude who used to play drums w/Black Label Society & Zakk Wylde shows up. He worked their tours and sat in at times. That dude can git it. He just flops down and makes a cheap kit sound great. He NEVER misses. Twice I've thought he was gonna miss but both times he nailed it. He looks at me and we both laff. He's a tease! lol When Gary retires I'm sure they'll all get together and play more. Just a nice time with like minded people. Typical bar out front w/some tables & shuffleboard then they have a big back room w/a bar and tables and chairs. It's laid back and just lots of good people.
  4. They played well and they were back to full strength. At least we got blue twice this year! lol
  5. The opportunity to get published is a form of payment. The opportunity to shoot his son and other friends works too. He has the jpg files just like i have a ton of negatives. I just want to help him become a better sports photog. No better feeling in the world than having the best seat in the house while you're workin.
  6. At that time in the morning it WAS pure enjoyment! I paid for it though. Trust me the word got around. lol
  7. Don't let him off that easy. hahaha Ya put that camera around your neck you're werkin not watchin! hahaha
  8. Think ahead of the play. You KNEW it was goin down yet you elected to watch. It's on YOU then! Here's what cured me. I missed ONE shot like that. With a couple other guys I shot with having early morning coffee at Indy one year and I had the only camera. The bomb to open the gates goes off and it's insane watching everyone drive into the infield to park. We're standing there watching the endless stream coming in and outta no where is the GORGEOUS blonde w/a HUUUGGEEE pair of tata's hangin out the window of this vette. I mean she's out the window! We ALL just stared. This chick was HOT, 20' away & I was the only one w/a camera. Think I didn't hear about that? She would have been darkroom art hangin in the Nikon Professional Services Lab at the track. Now THAT'S a wall to see. Some great stuff hangin back there away from the public. The body goes around your neck and you have one hand on the body so you're ready to go. You even have auto focus so there's NO EXCUSE for missing ANYTHING. Pull it up and it's hammer time! Now I'll be waiting to see what ya really got goin on brother! 😂
  9. Nice shot! Tells me you either spent some cash on glass or you're growing a bigger pair! I always had a HUGE pair! Get next to the ump early then stay outta his way. What they gonna do fire ya? IF ya want it ya gotta go get it since it only happens once! ^5's ya! The ONLY thing better would be a slide w/him puttin the tag on at the plate. Think ahead of the play then ya got him nailed! lol
  10. Your just so much more poignant but I wub ya brother! lol Peace, love, dove! 😂 Unzipped a new one a bit ago and it's left me smiling so far. The Dire Straits "Private Investigations" album was named after their 1982 hit with the same name. Nice sound over all with Mark Knopfler shinin throughout. Songs were comprised from 6 of their studio albums with a previously unreleased track with Mark and Emmylou Harris singing a duet of "All the roadrunning" as the final cut. Great album in all and Knopfler takes ya where he wants you to go throughout it. Good stuff for the ear holes!
  11. Jam night last night? Sheesh... The guys quit about 11ish, which was great actually. Drummer had to leave then the bass player pretty much followed suit since there weren't any drummers in the house, which was fine with me. The crazies WERE out in full force. Guitar kid stepped in w/the guys then his buddy jumped on the keyboard. The guys just played on with 'em. I'm sittin there w/my diet Pepsi's and their wives just hangin and outta know where some kid comes running up to me and says, "Don't ya think we need that organ louder? Hey Andy, turn it up!" I was like whatever and we all just sat there looking stoooopid. Then the Pat Benetar came in outta no where wearing her baseball hat and jumped in w/the vocals on a couple songs. Kinda hit the high notes but as long as she was happy. It got even better as Gary was packin up his strat some kid was talking to him non stop. Gary looked over at me and kinda grinned then he points over to me and smiled. Rut Roh. Here comes the kid who has 7 r2r's and wants to sell some of the stuff he has. I'm listening and Gary is laffin watchin. Told him if he had a Revox I might be interested but he said he DID have two Leslies in his basement and a white on black key Hammnd but they were old. By then I felt just like you guys do reading all of this BS I'm typing. Moral of the story? A worm full moon on the 9th. Yuuuuuup, THAT explains it! 😂
  12. Soooooo NOT RIGHT! I'm off to jam night! Play nice
  13. Yuuuuuup, another story with a different outcome than you expect... GO BUCKS! HA! Great seeing the 1960 Natty Champs on the floor. Bobby Knight had his hands in his pockets and kept staring at the floor. When the crowd went up for him he kinda waved and smiled. At the pre-game presser w/a few members of the team they did point out that Knight only came back because the rest of his team wanted him there. Also mentioned the Uni had nothing to do w/him coming back or he wouldn't have come back. Watched Lucas, and those guys every game I could back then. If it wasn't on TV I was in my bedroom listening on my radio. Made shoveling the snow off the drive and bouncin a cold ball a bit easier.
  14. Simple and a LOT cheaper! https://www.wikihow.com/Make-Hand-Sanitizer?fbclid=IwAR2o7HNmQmtlnrzFgKrySvqBTJidA3q5ucOxvpOY-f7iZBqE4uTfm7XTZ3E Note that you can substitute the rubbing alcohol w/190 proof grain-alcohol, which I know won't happen in here!
  15. You've got some nice Schiit right there brother! Enjoy it!
