  1. Decent size room 20x20. I have two RF-7II’s and I’m ordering a RC-64III with either one or two 115 subs. Sounds like errbody says more the merrier. I think I’ll go with that. I can get a good deal on some RP-160M Bookshelf speakers for surround backs. That way all I have left to get is two surrounds (RS-42II) and 4 in-ceilings (5800II)
  2. So go 2 subs for sure. That’s all my budget will allow. Is either center channel and two subs, or center channel, one sub, and two surrounds
  3. Money better spent on the second 115 sub? Or spent on two RS-42II’s?
  4. I do mostly streaming service watching, and occasional PS4 gaming. The ps4 playback is in 7.1, I wonder if that means it would negate the second sub. Meaning only one would fire during the ps4 gameplay. If that’s the case my decision is easy. No need to pay the extra Money if I’m only going to use it 25-50% of the time. I’m wondering if my receiver will treat the 2 subs as one? Never had 2 subs to play around with.
  5. I know the answer is YES! 2 subs are better than 1. But, is one 15” enough to satisfy the bass tooth? What I’m asking is, by adding a second 15” sub, does it give me 200% better bass? Or, by adding the second 15” sub, I’m entering into a bit of diminishing return, and only gives me 150% better bass. What it comes down too, Is it worth the extra dough?
  6. Looking into Emotiva XPA-3, it puts out 275 RMS. My RF-7II’s are 250W RMS, and the center channel I’m getting is 200W RMS. Will the 275 hurt the 200 RMS center channel? Not worried about the RF-7’s
  7. The 8500 processes 15 as well. Powers and processes 13, the 14,15th would need external amps
  8. What was ur take on Auro vs Atmos? I want to setup and configure speakers that may be conducive to both, but then again I may just go full atmos. Thoughts?
  9. Not sure if the post is legit, but I saw a pair of Khorns for 2200 on CL, in West Palm Beach, FL worth the price?
  10. Youth, Only the K horns will sound good with your setup, haha
  11. Not sure how people get so .... hurt. It’s a sale. Expect people to low ball you. It’s the nature of a sale. I ask the lowball question to see if they’re willing to negotiate and how motivated they are to sell. It’s a feeler question. Not meant to insult.
  12. Thanks, I’m not sure it will process more than 11, and I thought when buying the 6400 I’d be set, that 11.2 channels was enough. I guess not, as the 8500 just got released and it has the worlds first 13.2 channel powered and processed channels. Not to mention it has a total of 15 channel processing. I mean wtf. That’s what I want. But at the price tag of 4G’s it’s a little hard to stomach.
  13. Yea, this dude got real skiddish and seemed insulted with my question of BD. Almost like he was selling his first born and I don’t deserve such a honor to be bestowed upon me. And hey, I get it. We all have been there too. Just need to be realistic with fair market price that’s all.
  14. I see both sides of the fence. Seller may get irritated when buyer asks bottom dollar. He set his price he thinks is fair. He should get that. We took great care of our item and aren’t about to take a bath. Buyer I’m making the step in getting ready to make offer with bottom dollar question. If seller stonewalls me then I know he’s not serious about selling and won’t negotiate. That’s why sellers set price higher, because we all know we will take less than whet we put it out for. It’s all a game. If you’re selling something it means; A.) you are done with it and would like the money. B.) trading and need the money to upgrade C.) just need money my opinion is 75% of the time buyer always has more power than seller. Just My option tho. Little side story about this la scalas sale. I went in with a different angle showing appreciation for his equipment. Stating that I’m a huge Klipsch fan, and like to listen to them. He said he was free that day, but he lived on other side of Atlanta. (Not sure if y’all been thru here but that could turn into an 8hr trip) so instead of wasting my time driving there for him to stonewall me with I’ll take 100-300 off, I had to feel him out with the bottom dollar question. Not a big deal in the end, just trying to say when buyers sometimes use the bottom dollar question it isn’t malicious. Gotta know if it’s worth time. Which is sometimes more precious than the dollars spent.
  15. Thanks @rodsr2274 have you noticed any “mismatched” tone/sound quality? I would imagine it should be fine. Some guys say it will not be the same as RF-7II’s. Almost swaying back to saving money and getting the matching RC-64II.
  16. Welp, the guy took down his post. Must’ve kept them, or sold already. He was adamant on not going lower than 2200 and was insulted I asked what bottom dollar was. Yes @wvu80 they were just a pair. Two speakers.
  17. In ATL area I found two immaculate La Scalas for 2200. Worth it?

    Klipsch KG3

Anyone know how the KG3’s sound?
  19. @bkevind Yea bro, it’s all good. There’s a reason why there are different brands. Relate it to automobiles. They all get you from A to B regardless of Make/Model. And most newer cars are on an even playing field when it comes to reliability. Sure, you’ll get a Lemon here or there, but I wouldn’t accosiate that with being brand specific. Same goes for Receivers, they all produce sound and process different audio/video sources. Pick the one in YOUR budget, that YOU like, and fits YOUR needs. Be informed, but not obsessive. And as you’ve had bad experiences with Denon, I’ve had great. I’ve owned Yamaha and Had bad. Sound was bland and had no depth to any surround IMO. But, it’s just that “My Opinion”. I’m not the nominated ambassador of all things sound related. NOR is ANYBODY ELSE on this forum. This is a great place to share ideas and share our appreciation for good sound and technology. Remember, everything you read on the internet is true. Bonjour!
  20. @charles m have you heard the RC-64iii? Do you find the RC-64ii harsh/fatiguing/sharp at all?
  21. How do you like the RC-64ii? I’m debating on saving a lil $$ and getting it or, upgrading to the RC-64iii. I eventually will want to get the RF-7iii’s, I think I’m making the jump to the mark 3. Also, what you think of those Hereseys? As good as RF-7’s?
  22. Marantz is a great brand. That setup looks Awesome. Nice storm trooper. I just watched force awakens again in 7.1, sounded great on Klipsch speakers. Love the reference line. The RF-7ii’s are ridiculously clear and lively.
  23. I’ve looked into all mentioned above, minus the Pioneer/Onkyo. Go with what you plan on using it for. For Home theater I’m a strong advocate for the flagship Denons. You want music, go Marantz. You want last forever, go Yamaha. Keep in mind Yamaha makes dirtbikes and motorcycles too. That’s what shy’d me away from them, that, and I’ve heard Yamaha for hometheater, wasn’t impressed. Best advice is try em all, and pick the one that sounds best to YOU, and fits your budget.
