  1. I have the Denon X6400H 11.1 receiver. It does both Dolby atmos and Auro-3D out the box. I’d like to setup my speakers in a way that’s condusive to both immersive 3D audio formats. Does anyone have a good way to achieve this? I think I’ll do a 10.2 setup. -A regular 5.1 channel surround. Extra subwoofer. (5.2) -4 height channels (RP-140SA) -1 extra height channel above TV for Dolby Atmos height speakers (RP-140SA) -1 Voice Of God Channel (5800-CDT-II) My original goal was to do a 7.2.4 Dolby Atmos setup. But now with Auro-3D out, I’d like to sample both audio formats. An option would be get the speakers in position for a 7.2.4, then buy 4 extra Auro-3D “height channels”. Once all speakers are in place, depending on movie I’m watching(and format that catches on), I can just alter my speaker configuration in back of receiver. That or spend another $2400 on the Denon 13.2 X8500. Haha. I’ve watched a few reviews on the 8500 and they’re hailing it as an homage to Denon in its glory daze. It’s a beast. Well, for 4G’s it better make me doughnuts too. Ha.
  2. Got my front soundstage covered. Now in looking into surrounds. I will probably do the RP-160M’s for surround backs. What is the best flagship surround speakers Klipsch makes? I can only see the RS-62ii or RP-250s. I would assume the RS-62iii’s will come out soon. What surrounds will pair the best with the RF-7’s and RC-64?
  3. @wvu80 good lookin out. I’m on the fence with what I should do with my 7/2’s. I think I will eventually (5-10 years) get then RF-7/3’s I don’t think that the 64/3 will sound bad with the 7/2’s, as stated in earlier posts on this thread, they don’t all process the same material(unless in 7ch stereo). So to pinpoint the differences will be difficult to naked ear. I will get the 64/3 and exchange for 64/2 if it’s that bad.

    RP-160M’s

I’m looking to have a 7.2.4 setup in the end. I’m probably getting the RP-250S for my regular surrounds. I was thinking of getting the RP-160’s for my surround backs
  5. Youth, let me know what you think about the 64iii. After I talked to the Klipsch rep, and I noticed u had ur son pair the 64ii with his original RF-7’s. I thought it may not sound bad to have the 64iii paired with my 7ii’s. It’d be awesome if you could demo that setup (7ii’s & 64iii) for a song or two, or for an action scene or two. That’d be awesome. Let me know. Appreciate it. 😎👍🏼

    RP-160M’s

Anyone ever heard the RP-160M’s lookin to possibly use them for my surround back channels. Whats the suggested surrounds to pair with RF-7’s and RC-64 center? Ive heard RP-250s bi directional surrounds are good, but you should put the regular mono speaker for your surround backs. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
  7. I’ve had an old Denon Paired with Klipsch for Home Theater for last 9 years. Sounded great. I’m a fan of their Audessey room correction setup. As I said above once you get up to the flagship receivers the differences are almost bias and preferential. The specs are close. I have heard Marantz has a lil edge on music, and Denon has an edge on Home Theater.
  8. Ceptorman, and wvu80 are right on. Someday I will upgrade to the RF-7/3’s. I called a Klipsch Rep and he said they’d sound great with the RF-7/2’s, or at least be the next closest thing to the RF-64/2’s. He said the new 64/3 center channel sounds better than the 64/2. I’m with wvu80, and want to get the best center channel I can. And right now the 64/3 is the best center channel Klipsch makes for HT.
  9. Can you pair the RC-64iii with the rf-7ii’s?
  10. @Youthman, how does the DeanG crossovers sound vs stock crossovers? I think I want the upgrade. How much it cost?
  11. I went through this fun trip down receiver lane just this past month. Narrowed it down between the Yamaha 3070, Marantz 7012, or Denon X6400H. I tried a Yahmaha A770 for 30 days. Not too impressed with the surround capabilities. I have Never owned a Marantz, but have heard good things about the power and video upsacling. I’ve had a Denon for the past 8 years, and was impressed with it. The X6400 is an 11.2 channel to give you a full 7.2.4 without adding any amps. All 4K pass-through and video upscaling. 140W per channel. All new sound formats, and all video formats out of the box. No firmware updates needed. For my needs and price point the X6400H was the choice for me. At the higher end price point most receivers have the same qualities. It boils down to what features you want. Even what one you think looks the best. Any shared experiences with receivers above $1500 would be great to hear.

    RC-64 ii

In need of a RC-64 ii Center Channel to pair with my Newly purchased RF-7 ii’s. I do want subwoofers too. Not sure if I should pair the 7ii’s with two 15’s or two 12’s? Newer the better, but I don’t shy away from used. Also, I’m new to forum and looking to link up with any enthusiasts in the ATL area. Thanks. C&G4L
