  1. I think it's the new May 2019 update Windows build 1809, but I don't really know for sure. Here are some other people having problems with XMOS on Windows 10 build 1809: https://www.reddit.com/r/headphones/comments/9rum5m/topping_d30_no_official_xmos_windows_10_drivers/ But I spent a bit longer rummaging around, and I think I found a solution. XMOS actually has a new update here: https://www.xmos.com/developer/support/software/uac2/driver-support This is version 4.13.0. I installed that, and now I see Klipsch Power Gate under Audio inputs, like I used to.
  2. I'm having the same issue as sparky14. Almost the exact same scenario, except that I am running Windows 10 Home (I was previously running Windows 10 Pro). Can anybody help?
  3. I saw these on Fakebook Marketplace and CL today. I'm down the road in Granite Falls. I smiled when I saw them here as well. It's intriguing, but I'd have to find a new home for my KG4s before the sweet Mrs would even let me think about these. Best wishes to you. I hope they find a good home.
  4. I appreciate doing business with you, and for being an honest chap. [emoji16] Sent from my PH-1 using Tapatalk
  5. I'm glad you like it! What you're describing is exactly what I would have done with the unit in my office once my Yamaha sold. The little thing works really well with Spotify too.
  6. Thanks, Bill That's a great price for that amp! I did end up getting the a-S501 for $330, and I love it. The clarity of the instruments or vocals producing the music is really great. I've never heard something like this. Thanks for the link. I had already completed the purchase with the guy from CL by the time you posted that.
  7. Does anyone know how the sound quality compares between something like network receiver like the R-N602 and the integrated amp like a A-s501? RJM
  8. Wstrickland: Yes, you can hook up with a phono. It has an amp for phono. Yes, you can power a pair of speakers directly. Yes, you can stream Spotify and Pandora, either through PlayFi via the Klipsch Stream app, or through Bluetooth.
  9. Thanks for taking the time to input, Emile. I really appreciate it.
  10. I just figured it's not a good match. It does fine, but I wonder if I could improve with something more along the lines of a traditional amp.
  11. I want a better match for the KG4s it's currently powering. I actually like the little unit. Really nice power with an adequate array of inputs in a small package. Really nice. My biggest complaint would be that the Klipsch app doesn't allow for enough controls (other than PlayFi streaming controls). So it's either that or my Yamaha CRX-E150 for use currently in my office. I was thinking of using the Powergate in my office. I'm trying to sell the Yamaha as well. So whichever one I sell first, if you get my drift.
  12. I bought a Klipsch Powergate around a month ago. All cords and accessories (including remote) and original box included. Here is a link: https://www.klipsch.com/products/powergate I'm looking to sell for $225, shipping included.
  13. Which Yamaha? Can I get away with an a-s301? I'm in Minnesota.
  14. Let me add that I've considered the Pioneer a-20 as well.
  15. Klipsch people, I have a set of KG4s that I purchased. I want to get an amp for them. Just sold my TX-8050. Right now I'm using a Klipsch Powergate. Feel free to comment. Take me to the cleaners. I'm doing the best I can. On a budget, if you know what I mean. I was thinking about the Onkyo a-9110. A guy on a website that it wouldn't be able to drive the KG4s well. Is this true? So I went back to looking at Yamahas. I want to try to keep it under $330. Right now, I've got a guy who will sell me a slightly used a-s501 for $330. Got to drive an hour to get it. An option, but there are important members of my family who think that is a waste of my time. Then there's some a-s500s laying around on internet sites for even less. I'm not sure I need the DACs in the a-s501. Then there's the receiver r-n50x and r-s50x. And then, finally, there's always an a-s301. Any recommendations here? I feel a bit bewildered. I know some of you are going to tell me to test them, but I live in the middle of nowhere, and not a lot of time. I want things to sound good. I don't need to overpower my middle-sized living room. Help me. Please.
  16. Thanks a lot for the reply. If I may follow-up (and please pardon my ignorance), are you referring to the crossover capacitors in the speaker itself or the receiver? Also, I assume that soldering is going to be involved if I replace it? Thanks again.
  17. I'm looking for some help. I'm new to the forums here and am relatively ignorant when it concerns to audio quality. My system right now is an Onkyo TX-8050n. I have this connected to a set of Klipsch RB-51 IIs, a pair Bose 301 Series IV, and a Klipsch R-10SWi. The Onkyo is being fed by a Yamaha CDC-645 CD player, a Technics SL-D303 turntable, and a Chromecast audio, among some other items. I use the Chromecast audio quite a bit with an analog connection (therefore relying on the Chromecast's DAC). I've been noticing that when I play the opening track "I was Glad," of Harry Christophers and the Sixteen's album A New Heaven, that I have distortion when the sopranos hit high notes. I listen to a lot of sacred and classical choral music, and there are other times where there is clipping and distortion, usually when the sopranos are belting out some high notes. I don't notice the distortion so much with orchestral music. At first I wondered if this was a Chromecast issue, but I tried the same CD this morning, and the distortion seemed to be even worse! The distortion is (it appears to me) in one of the Klipsch bookshelf speakers. Also, that same bookshelf speaker has a very small dent in the copper speaker (the woofer, right? -- see the photo). What do you think the problem is? Do I need to do something with the tweeter? Do I need to replace the speaker/woofer? Is the problem with my receiver/amplifier? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
