these are CW 1 ---   CBR is raw birch , not veneered

I stated that above, CBR for this set. I was just saying If I was to keep a pair of Cornwall, it would be Cornwall II or higher in a Walnut (Lacquer) finish.

never seen naugahyde on CW  , but it could be , horrible in all cases  , these are 1978  or higher , the Woofer shows the larger dust cap and the copper badge is 78 and up -stripping the paint is the way to go  , could be oil paint , so all of it has to come off ,  you have to see these in person    -------these are not a big loss  for you --------let themgo , you're better of getting a clean pair that sound great for 1500$ -

He has had them for 15'ish years. The guy he bought them from did the Naugahyde. He removed it and painted them. No loss here, I was gonna refurb and flip. Good to know the "era" of these Cornwalls as he does not, and is hard to decipher without the tags. I would keep Cornwall II's and higher in the Walnut Oil.

the paint job  is one of a kind

Just got off the phone with him. They are 1960 something CBR that was covered in Naugahyde. He removed the Naugahyde and painted them Green as seen in pics. Also left the Naugahyde on the backs but took off the screw binding post and installed banana plugs. I offered $400 due to the total refurb, he declined. He said they are not as bad as I described the "F" condition. I wished him luck with his sale and suggested a $700 price for someone that just "had to have them"

    Go get 'em.

  4. I messaged the guy asking him to send me pics to describe his 3/10 rating. Told him I was interested in the Chorus II's and the Forte II's. Seems like a flake seeking highest bidder. Here is my text exchange. (13 hour round trip drive I am willing to drive but not without additional pics.) His ad is still active.

    Hi,
Do you have any additional pics that show the 3/10 condition? Are the woofers and passives undamaged? Do you have pics of the rear tags? I am also interested in the Forte II's with the same questions.

    Thanks,
    Mike

Where are you????? I won’t ship.

I understand you are not shipping as these speakers are clearly marked "local pickup". I am in Ohio. So, now that we cleared that up, can you provide additional information as requested? Thanks. ---------------------

These feet came off a CF-3 I parted out, Dian picked them up from me Saturday.

The CF-3 feet I posted above were from a version 1. What version did your come off of? Klipsch must have changed feet at some point for the CF-3's.

I am pretty sure the rubber feet came standard if the speakers did not have the optional spike kit.

  6. The woofers appear to be correct. The cabs are beat, dog piss grills missing badges. I would be able to fix these but not worth the effort for me for more than $200. Great project though.

  7. Ebay Academy badge.

See how the registered trademark on the Ebay badge is smeared on the PWK logo and not next to the "h" on Klipsch? To most it would not matter but to me it does.

The "K" of Klipsch is also lower case and not capitalized. The "V" on the PWK logo is open on the left side and not solid like OEM. The OEM has the "laser" look, Ebay does not.

Some of the OEM badges had badge pins on the back so that the badge could be moved for a vertical presentation.

    Many differences.

The badges he made sure do look nice and like the originals.  How big are the differences and why does it matter?   This was an issue with muscle cars in the 1980 and 90s but nobody seems to care anymore.

There are a lot of nice badges on ebay:

    https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2499334.m570.l1313.TR3.TRC2.A0.H0.Xklipsch+badge.TRS0&_nkw=klipsch+badge&_sacat=14969

I buy speakers that usually need refurbished. I refurbish the speakers back to OEM color and spec which includes stripping the wrong color off and refinishing back to the tag color. I also try to put the correct badge on them. This is what an OEM Academy badge looks like compared to the Ebay ones. So yes, they are different.

I have no clue! I just bid..... if I win I’ll let everyone know. But I almost hope I lose because of the uncertainty

If it turns out you win and they are for parts.... I would like to be first in line if you part them out.

Thank you and good luck with your bid.
