  1. Just for kicks, I compared the RC-3 and the RC-3 II and the Series 2 is a sligh improvement soundwise over the first Gen. I opened them up for the hell of it and the differences that I found were, RC-3II had better and bit more foam, better cabinet (series 1 has cap design on the ends, 14ga wires vs the 16ga in the series 1, visually beefier crossover in the series 2. The woofers remained the same model, but the tweeters were different model number. Yes I was bored to do this.
  2. Wires connectors, Banana on the receiver end and Spades on the speaker end, but Banana - Banana is fine too. I just like spade connectors on the speaker ends only because it looks cleaner with the way the wire come off as oppose to the bananas. Center is your next step for HT, then I would go sub, then surround speakers. Subwoofer, get the 12" if your budget and space can accomodate it. For movies, there is no such thing as too much bass! BTW, don't think you have bottom of line speakers, really doesn't matter, what matters is that you gonna have HT experience! Enjoy!

  4. Usually the Yamy bashers are Denon lubbers. [6] I use a RX-V3300 (very closely speced to the Yamy RX-Z1) with my RC3s and sound fine to me. But that's my hearing preference. 15% 2ch listening, 85% HT usage. enjoy
  5. 1. I love the e-bay spoof e-mails to my e-mail acc'ts that I don't even use for my e-bay or forums. Phishing is a big problem. 2. Another ID theft to be aware of is, actually phone calls from bank/credit card/utilities "customer service." We always tell them we don't who they are and WE will call the company back. We actually had one caller hangup on us.
  6. They make HDMI auto switch boxes that can be used and supposely HDCP compatible, but last I've looked they run over $200. IMO, HDMI or DVI cables seem to give a SLIGHTY richer picture quality in HD than a good quality component cable. The other advantage with digital cables is that it will auto set your digital TV to the highest resolution that it is receiving from the HD cable box or DVD which if I remeber right, I haven't used component cables since day 2 of my HDTV, component cables can't do that without you changing it.
  7. I offered and you told me that you had a possible buyer from Florida and never got back to me, so I went via E-bay route. sorry dude!
  8. Yeah, I'm sure he bought this at a store, more like back of a truck, and I'm sure he upgraded to a Bose system which can't even handle my iPod!!
  9. Looking for opinions on which one I should get to match my RF-3 and RC-3. I was looking at picking up a used pair of RS-3s (which has been getting ridiculously overpriced lately on E-bay), but after looking at the new RS-42 and RS-52, I was considering picking a pair of these up, but not sure which would match better or should I just continue to look out for a pair of RC-3s? thx
  10. The ones in the F-3s weren't even glued, they just kindda sit in there in a U-shape on the cabinet bottom.
  11. I was just looking at the F-3s at BBuys at lunchtime and notice there is acoustic foam now inside the bass port on the bottom. My old SF-2 and RF-3s didn't have that. So do they use foam inside the bass port on the bottom of the new RF series as well? Just curious.
  12. Anyone upgraded and looking to sell their RC-3 or RC-3 II around the NY area? thx
  13. Thanks for the reply. I just ended up getting a black shelf board and adjustable feets from Home Depot and made a standing platform so I can level off the Klipschs plus I got it a few inches taller.
  14. Are these adjustable? I have a pair of these on carpet and they seem to lean forward. Right now, I just have a stick-on rubber feet mounted under the front feets.
